I could do fine in water - could easily swim, as in not die when thrown in deep water. But I wanted to learn to swim laps/distance for triathlons and exercise and just could not figure it out. And I just could not find the right swim instructor or class for this. There's brand-new-to-water classes that teach you not to die in the water. And then there are classes that teach you to improve your technique in certain strokes. I was stuck in the middle - just could not figure out how to do the freestyle breathing right to even start swimming laps. I tried a couple different instructors, both of whom were probably good college swimmers, and they just had no real insight or experience with struggling to breathe. Enter Dave. In one session, he'd taught me 3x as much as multiple sessions with previous instructors and solo practice had taken me. By session 2, was up to being able to at least swim some short back-and-forths. Things got easier each session, and I left the initial package of lessons I bought feeling comfortable in the pool. I felt every instructor truly cared about the well being and growth for every child. I was a little skeptical at first with group swim lesson, but once I realized groups Lessons was great for challenging and motivating others to be their best self; I was sold. I have a 3 year old, 5 year old(Autism) and 7 year old; they all had sessions together in different groups. Liam did a great job with my 5 year old with Autism; he did not want to put his head in the water, but Liam was so patient and willing to want to help my son. It definitely touched my heart. Very easy to set up schedule. Pool is heated and the pool area is like a sauna so no worries about…read morekids being cold. Parents can sit inside the pool area (hot) or outside with AC. You can see inside the pool through the glass windows. They have individual stalls to change the kids clothes. Overall the facility is clean. Plenty of parking outside. The prices are about the same as everywhere in san diego, give or take $10-15 more or less. If you subscribe to their yearly plan it is cheaper of course compared to monthly. The only downside for us is that theyre not that aggressive or firm in teaching the kids. My kid can swim by kicking his legs without using the pool noodle but they still have him hanging on to it. I am afraid he might regress. Lets see how long they will make him use it. Been there 2 times so far. Another downside is some kids are huge, taking up so much space in a small lane. My kid was with 2 really big kids and barely have any space to even stand with total of 4 kids in 1 lane. They can definitely move them around or swap with another coach. My kid learned to swim from being scared of water to being able to jump into the pool and kick water to the ledge for safety in 11 days with a private coach. So hopefully he doesnt regress with these slow lessons.

It's truly incredible what she can do in 10 weeks. My daughter who was just under 3 when she started, is usually very shy and reserved with others. She's never opened up so quickly to anyone as she has to Ms. Nikki and within the first couple days, she was comfortable in her arms. Everything from the teaching model to the environment is so thoughtful and effective. I wanted something to teach my kids water safety without the tears and was thrilled to find Swim Synergy. Speaking to Krista at the beginning and throughout our time has been so easy and helpful. We've already been recommending them to all the families in our community.
