While I appreciate the facility's commitment to safety, I believe this policy may benefit from review in certain circumstances. My five-year-old is slightly under 48 inches tall and is a capable swimmer but he was still given a yellow bracelet because of his height. During our recent visit, a staff member (she seemed to be the one in charge) told us about the arm's length requirement while my son was playing in the shallow toddler pool area, which only reaches ankle depth. I fully support close supervision requirements in deeper water or for infants and young toddlers. However, the current policy creates some practical challenges in the toddler pool area: 1. The shallow depth of the toddler pool presents minimal risk for older children who can swim. 2. Multiple parents attempting to maintain arm's length proximity in a confined space leads to congestion and difficulty navigating around one another. Which can make things even more difficult trying to keep an eye on your child and your child's constant movement when you have a parent in front of you trying to keep an eye on their child. 3. The policy becomes impossible to enforce when children use the toddler play structure and mini slides, where parents cannot physically maintain arm's length distance. Maybe some parents can fit going up the structure, but we certainly cannot fit going down the slide. We would have to go back down the steps of the play structure and then try to get to our child who most certainly is farther away from us because kids do not sit still. I believe a modified policy that considers both the child's swimming ability and the water depth would better serve families while maintaining appropriate safety standards. Perhaps children who demonstrate swimming competency could be permitted greater independence in ankle-deep water, while maintaining stricter supervision requirements in deeper areas.

All competitive lanes were closed for swimming even though they were advertised as open online. :( I have yet to see the diving boards used as they appear to be permanently shut down. Also, please, be very careful when you come and go. Every single time I have been there, someone has slipped and/or fallen on the facility's wet floors in the entryway. No cash is accepted...you will need to pay electronically. Lap swimming (link) is available by reservation only Monday - Thursday (drop-ins are permitted on a space-available basis but be aware that the lane you pay for may be shared with another swimmer). Reservations are not accepted or required Friday - Sunday (drop-ins only) - Most recent hours of operation (link), but call or check their website for additional closures. Pertinent positives: the facility is generally clean and well kept, and I like the bathrooms and ample changing spaces. Negatives: I feel like this place is kind of run like a summer camp. I don't really see any management around or doing anything. And they don't really abide by basic rules. I complained about babies not wearing swim diapers and I continue to see the same kid not wearing a swim diaper six times in a row. It's really basic they could just ask a parent. Does your kid have a swim diaper on? They could even ask every baby's parent this. The other issue I have is the lack of consistency with teachers. I don't think we saw the same teacher twice. And every time they ask me the same question: how old is your son? Maybe he should be moved up to the other class? And then six lessons in and I feel like we're still at square one so honestly, I don't feel like it's worth the amount you have to pay to get consistency and progress.

They offer two baby pools, a small 2 to 2 1/2 feet deep pool for young kids and of course a large 3-8+ feet deep pool, a couple of water slides and a diving board. Also, they have a "quiet pool" for adults only (I've never been over there because my 3 y/o is always with me but from what I've peeped it looks and sounds serene!!). There's ample seating and parking. I just love this pool!!

I used yelp to find another Waterpark close by and this is how we ended up here. When called before we arrived to this location to make sure that they were not filled to capacity and they were not. We didn't know the rules and regulations or what to expect. When we arrived at the counter our group consisted of 3 kids and two adults. To enter it was less than $60. Admission was a breeze. The adults entered the restrooms to change into swimwear. The children were already prepared. We were actually able to locate 5 chairs in a nicely shaded area. Now let me tell you, this is not the place for you if you are looking to go swimming. This place has a lazy river so this is a highlight for a lazy river lover like me. We had two 7 year old and a 10 year old. They could either use a tube for the lazy river or go to the center to play in the water . This place was small enough and kid friendly enough to allow the children to play while the adults were in the lazy river with the kids or just relaxing on the side in the sun. Our party of 5 truly had a blast. The only downfall of our experience was that we didn't know that you were either allowed to bring your food and drink or you could have something delivered. There is nothing on site available to purchase. Not even water. Next time we will be better prepared. It definitely didn't take any enjoyment away from our visit.

They are always training and promoting and hiring responsible, encouraging and caring instructors. We always know exactly what our son is working on and can easily track it in the app. Our son is neurodiverse and can need a lot of patience and Eddie specifically has been one of the best instructors we've ever found. We are so impressed with his willingness to work with every swimmer and feel lucky that we found him. He has been the perfect match for our son and his needs!

We signed up for private swim classes for my 3-year-old at KIDS FIRST Swim School in Springfield…read more Before starting, we clearly explained that our son is not used to new adults and that we wanted the same instructor consistently so he could feel comfortable and build trust. Unfortunately, almost every week there was a cancellation or instructor change. Out of 6 classes, my son had about 5 different instructors. For a young child who needs consistency, this was very stressful. Each class felt like starting over because he had to adjust to a new adult again, so there was little to no improvement. After about 3 weeks, I complained to the head instructor. Instead of listening or helping, he seemed frustrated and raised his voice back at me, basically saying he already knew. That was very disappointing. My biggest concern is that they require families to schedule private lessons far in advance, but they could not provide a consistent instructor for the set day and time. We chose private lessons specifically for consistency, and they did not deliver that. For families with very young children, especially children who need time to get comfortable with new people, I would not recommend this location for private lessons. It ended up being a huge waste of time and money for us.
