We did a couple days of the immersive class with her and after the second day she was laughing and loving every second with teacher Jackie. She loved it so much that after the end of the four day immersive classes (45minute 1:1s) she wanted to keep doing classes. So we signed her up for a few more 1:1s once a week. After a couple more of them, she was jumping off the deep end, floating, swimming back to the ledge and pulling herself out all by herself. The patience and joy teacher Jackie brought was worth every penny!

It was torture going there week after week seeing other kids advance and our guy stay at level 1. We took a big break from lessons until we found CC Swim Academy and Ali in particular, who is a fantastic instructor. Now, with two little ones, 5 and 3, we dove headfirst into lessons and they both progressed so quickly. Ali has taught them the building blocks of swimming and it was amazing to watch. They've now learned so much and Ali has made them really comfortable in the water. They jump in the pool, do flips, go on water slides, etc. All things that take confidence they learned from Ali.

At the beginning of the lesson, my child mentioned to Conrad that he knew how to swim and was proud of his swimming skills. Conrad immediately responded, "Okay, show me those skills." When my child started swimming, Conrad immediately began making fun of his technique rather than simply correcting and teaching him in a constructive way. After that, I witnessed multiple interactions that I felt were sarcastic, belittling, and disrespectful. When discussing my child's technique, Conrad sarcastically told him something along the lines of, "you don't do it correctly anyway." He then compared him to his younger sibling, telling him to watch how his younger sibling was doing the stroke and learn from him. His tone and manner throughout these interactions were inappropriate for a child who was there to learn. There were also multiple occasions during both the first and second classes when Conrad tapped my child on the head while correcting him. My child later told me that it hurt and made him feel uncomfortable. By the end of the second lesson, my child was crying. I absolutely expect a swimming instructor to correct mistakes and challenge a child, but there is a significant difference between constructive correction and making a child feel embarrassed, mocked, or less confident. Children should be taught in a way that builds their confidence and makes them more interested in learning, not in a way that discourages them from something they previously enjoyed and felt proud of. After I raised my concerns, I immediately pulled my child from the program. We had attended only two classes out of a five-class week. I requested a refund for the remaining unused classes because our experience had clearly not turned out as expected. I was told that they do not honor refunds and that their no-refund policy is strict, and they were unwilling to reconsider it even under these circumstances. I found that response completely inappropriate and upsetting, particularly after I had explained why I did not feel comfortable sending my child back. Overall, I was left with the impression that Conrad may simply be tired of teaching children and no longer has the patience or approach that some children need from an instructor. If that is the case, perhaps it is time for him to reconsider whether teaching young children is still the right fit. Regardless of how many years of experience an instructor has, children deserve to be treated with patience, encouragement, and respect. I regret signing my children up and wish I had known more about this teaching approach beforehand. I am sharing our experience because I believe other parents should be aware of it and be able to decide whether this style of instruction is appropriate for their own child.

I do want to highlight that our swim instructor was amazing. She was attentive, professional, patient, and communicated well with us throughout the lessons. My child absolutely adored her and, because of her, began feeling much more comfortable and confident in the water. I have nothing but positive things to say about her, and I intentionally won't name her because I don't want this review to negatively reflect on her. Unfortunately, my overall experience with the facility was very disappointing, particularly when it came to communication and organization. The indoor viewing area was extremely stuffy during the summer, which made it very uncomfortable to sit and watch my child's lessons. More importantly, there needs to be a much better system of communication between the front desk and the swim instructors. Our swim lessons were canceled three separate times, and we were not notified until we arrived for the lesson. This was extremely inconvenient for our family and frustrating, especially after making the effort to get our child there. We eventually had to switch to a new instructor, and unfortunately, that lesson was canceled as well. At least this time, we were given one day's notice. As a result, our child went an entire month without swimming lessons. This was especially disappointing because our child had finally started overcoming their fear of the water and becoming comfortable in the pool. To have that progress interrupted for an entire month was very discouraging. I really hope the facility improves its communication system so parents are promptly notified of cancellations, ideally through the app or another reliable method. The instructors may be wonderful, but the lack of communication and coordination makes the overall experience much more difficult for families.

Jeremiah has made our son feel comfortable, keeps him motivated and keeps lessons fun. We're sad to see him leave the program but wish Jeremiah the best. Thank you for helping our son learn to swim and foster a love for competitive swimming. Waterworks, in Downey, has recently hired more swim instructors. It is a busy location and before we were able to book with Jeremiah consistently, there was a problem of availability and instructors showing up. If you're able to find a date/time and instructor and keep up lessons with them, the program is fantastic, comparable in pricing and effective in their methods to teach others how to swim.

I had paid for private lessons which were going to start right after she went on summer vacation. But her lessons kept being cancelled, they got cancelled 3x I was livid as you can imagine I called customer service which was great they helped me but there was some issues with the instructors I kept getting different instructors and time slots it was not fun at all. BUT as soon as she was able to attend a lesson I was so impressed at how much my child learned. I gotta give the girls their flowers. My daughter first had Lola who was so sweet and patient because my daughter is a handful and full of energy and it can be hard for her to pay attention (that's why I got private lessons). And then she had Julia which I saw an improvement in her and she also had Emily both great instructors, I saw so much improvement and they got her to listen and pay attention she followed directions, she went from level 2 to level 3. I had originally paid for 8 lessons, but I had seen so much improvement I went ahead and paid for 4 more classes. Every week i would see her in the water i would see something new that she was learning. This is the best money I've ever spent, I've told my friends about it, it's so worth it, I'm actually thinking of taking lessons myself. I do plan on her continuing since she seems to be a natural in the water.
