We have both of our children enrolled (5 and 3). Our five year old is in private classes and our 3 year old is in a group class. The kids are making incredible progress in the pool. They have a wonderful time and look forward to each lesson. I can't recommend this safe, friendly and knowledgeable school enough. Our daughter's private instructor, John is just incredible. First, she has the same instructor each lesson. He has formed such a bond with her. She trusts him and really has a wonderful smile on her face the whole time (even after coughing a little from the water). Her confidence and skills are growing day by day. The group classes are also stellar. Don't be turned off by the "group" part. The ratio is kept down to 3 to 1 and each kid gets plenty of solo instruction. They are given appropriate breaks and then it back out with an instructor to learn more. Our son has a warm smile on his face the entire time. His skills have grown leaps and bounds. If you're looking for classes for your kids this school is definitely worth taking a look at. At first we thought it was a little expensive (and compared with schools like 'The Connection" it is, but the results are completely worth it. This swim school is the BEST! The instructors have superb teaching skills. They are all the kid whisperers! They are so good with ALL the kids and builds trust with the children so they feel safe in the water. My 4 yo used to cry when she had to go under the water. Now she can float, kind of swim after a few weeks and has no problems going under water. We tell all our friends about this school and hope the student teacher ratio will stay the same. I have also taken a trial class here and Chris, my instructor was great. It's hard for me to commit to ongoing classes due to my travels but I'd recommend this school to any child or adult! read more

They did a great job in assessing my twins during the first class. They really evaluated stroke techniques and rotational breathing. Within mins knew where each child should be placed and then focused on their stroke technique. I watched them run beginners and existing swimmer class... both gave each kids plenty of attention! read more

Amazing experience! My 2 kids went from nervous and nearly in tears to go in the water, to swimming on their own and treading water for over 10 seconds within 3 lessons! Love that they do not offer any flotation devices, rather they are focused on actually teaching the kids to swim and not just how to float while supported by a bubble/floaty on them. And my kids have had so much fun in each lesson - it is a good balance of fun and challenging them in the star. We have been very happy so far! read more

I'm super impressed with New Wave Aquatics. I've taken my daughter to swim lessons before and she just wasn't into it - she didn't pay attention, didn't like going under water. New Wave has done a 360 on her - so much so, that we leave our 30-minute group lesson only to be asked how many days until we go back to swim class. They provide an evaluation for $30 for prospective students to see what level your child is at - it's almost is like a regular a class. The instructors are very good and work hard to make students feel comfortable and provide parents with honest, upfront feedback. I was nervous about signing my 4-year-old daughter up because at first she was so not into - she actually cried when we would go. Three lessons in and she can't stop talking about it. Classes are 2-3 kids per instructor or 3-6 kids per every two instructors. Our swim coach is Chris and he has been fantastic. He is kind, patient and pushes my child when needed. And we trust him. Even during our evaluation, they were having an off day (students came a late, a baby came to class) and he offered my daughter a free one-on-one evaluation for an additional day. Pat, who I have worked with to find the right schedule, is so patient and really works with you to find the right fit for your child and your schedule. While the facility's locker rooms could use some serious help, it's a small inconvenience for the kind of instruction we're getting. I'm so very happy that we found New Wave and that my daughter is gaining the confidence she will need in the pool. read more

Best swim school in New Jersey, they do a great job teaching people of various ages how to swim. I am currently 21 years old and they have taught me how to properly swim. They did a good job of evaluating different techniques and helped me increase my endurance while swimming. Elyas is very professional and very dedicated in helping everyone become a great swimmer. My 10yo son had a decent freestyle and was pretty comfortable in the water, for a lap or two. So that he could join and enjoy summer swim team, he needed some individual attention on stroke work and endurance. We signed him up for Swimquest, and for about 9 or 10 months he spend 30 minutes every Thursday with coach Jamal. I cannot say enough about Jamal's methodical coaching technique. The transformation in my son has been remarkable. His freestyle went from okay to really good, with bi-lateral breathing, etc., and he has the other three strokes now too. Tomorrow morning at summer league swim practice he is going to collect some ribbons from the meets this morning and yesterday morning. Swimming is a life skill, and giving it to our children is a gift that will pay dividends for decades, making every water-oriented vacation more comfortable, and offering a low-impact exercise well into old age. New wave aquatics is a great place to learn swimming for kids and adults. I have Daven for an adult teacher and Chris for children and they are both exceptional. My son is scared of water and they have encouraged him and go with his pace. This is a really great place to teach children how to swim. My 2.5 year old son has progressed so much in the few months he has been taking lessons there. He looks forward to class every week and runs to get his bathing suit when I tell him it's swim time. I highly recommend New Wave Aquatics! Our twin girls are 3 years old and are already swimming at almost a Level 3 after just starting their second term at lessons. The love their instructor, Nate and are always so excited to swim with him. They do not use flotation devices which is exactly how I wanted my children to learn - without artificial aids.
