A friend recently referred me to Jean Jacques at Swiss Connection. I needed a link repaired on my watch and needed the band of a ring repaired as well. To my surprise, he fixed my watch and even replaced the battery for me which I forgot to mention when I brought the watch in. I had my ring repaired at another jewelry store a few months ago and it came apart again in the same place. Not only was my ring repaired but the band was strengthened and it looks like a new ring. I love this place! I have only bought all my fine jewelry from here. It started with my wedding ring and went on to anniversary. Baby birth gift and birthday gifts. I always send my husband here and I know that Nina will pick out exactly what I like and pieces that have become so sentimental to me. I trust JJ and knowing he is a gemologist that he will only have quality stones and I get what I pay for. From custom making my earrings to fixing and cleaning my jewelry. Two unpleasant experiences with these guys. Needed a new battery for my Tag. They replaced it and said I needed a new watertight gasket, declined. Six months later battery failed, should last 2 to 4 years. Had trusted jeweler put a new battery in and he said gasket was fine. Obviously they put in an old battery and lied about the need for a new gasket. Second, wife needed a new band for Cartier watch. Owner quoted a price hundreds of dollars more than what we spent having Cartier itself replace the band. This guy cannot be trusted to tell the truth read more

Meh...I went in yesterday in hopes of possibly purchasing a statement ring. The sales lady was there but had horrible breath. The technician, who was unshaven, was a slog and reluctant to answer any questions. The sale lady kept pumping up Jean Jacques. I don't really care who these people are. I just want to buy fine jewelry without all the pompousness. It didn't do anything for me that there is a store at the st. Regis. That just tells me the rent is high. No thank you. I have lived in the area for 17 years, in a custom home in Ocean Ranch. Shortly after moving here I needed my 3 carat diamond ring repaired. I was treated disrespectfully from the moment I walked in. The man at the counter had nothing positive to say and insulted my choice in jewelry. Years later, my husband made the mistake of getting my genuine Rolex cleaned there. The man made rude comments about my watch, saying the upgrades I made to it just cheapened it. Just today, my daughter went to have her authentic bracelet repaired and the man at the counter referred to it as costume jewelry. If I had known my daughter was going there, I would have advised her against it. There are many other jewelers far superior to Swiss Connection. I have a beautiful diamond ring I bought from another jeweler but I kept losing some of the small diamonds from the setting. I was afraid that I might lose the large diamond because of a setting that wasn't sturdy. Jean-Jacques made a new setting for my ring that is fabulous! It looks the same but is much stronger and I don't have to worry now about the integrity of the ring and of losing more diamonds. Took a ring in for repair on 10/6. Called to get the status after one week. Was told I would get a call back. Waited 3 days, two phone calls later, No call back. Decided to go into the store to pick up my ring. The jeweler who did the repair let me know he he had just completed it. I was confronted by the older Swiss gentleman. When I told him of the poor customer service of no call back, he proceeded to berate and insult me. Stating that I was probably expected the repair at no charge. This human should not be dealing with the public. He has a retail store but zero retail etiquette or any sense of what customer service is. In the past I've only had dealings with the jeweler and a woman. My past experiences with the two of them have resulted in my repeat business. My aunt went there to have a repair done on her wedding set. The person working there told her the wedding bands were not real gold. After going back to the original jeweler she learned that they were in fact gold and she was given false information from this jeweler. Makes you question what kind of operation this is when they can't even tell if gold is real or not. read more

So rude. I have a Tag Hauer watch that needed a watch battery. I called for a price quote since not just anyone can do the job and it requires a new gasket for waterproofing. Although my voice sounds much younger than my 35+ years, I was spoken to like a child via the gentleman who answered the phone. I have a Tag Heuer watch that needs it's battery replaced. It is a sentimental gift, so I keep the best care of it that I can. It's only needed to have it's battery replaced once before and I had taken it to a jewelry store in the mall that sent it out to Tag to be replaced and resealed so it maintains it's water resistance. I was in the plaza running other errands pre-workout and decided to stop in and see how much the service would be there and how long it would take. The older blonde lady working behind the counter was so rude and condescending. Making snarky comments about me not being sure about the style watch I have, etc. I simply asked her how much and how long it would take to replace the battery on my Tag. She wasn't sure about the amount of time and wasn't sure about the price. She quoted me for $55 over what it really was. They were extremely unorganized. I mentioned I took my watch to the mall last time and she was so judgemental of me doing so. Well, you know what, your sour, condescending attitude is the exact reason why I will give my business back to Ben Bridge in the Mission Viejo mall. I will have comfort in knowing that they will not be condescending towards me and will have people who repair Tags exclusively all day repair my watch. I'm all about supporting small businesses, but attitudes push people away. Be friendly and don't talk down to me because I'm not dripping in diamonds or unaware of my watch style name. read more

When my husband wanted to surprise me by taking my watch in for a new crystal, he was told that they wouldn't do it because it's a "counterfeit Chanel". I still have the box, paperwork and receipt for the watch showing Akribos on everything. I took all back into this jeweler and asked why they said this was a knock-off; I also reminded them that they had removed two links from the band after I got it--no comment then about a counterfeit!. I was told that they "couldn't get the parts" and that I was just over the 2-year warranty, but maybe I could send the watch out to the manufacturer for a new crystal. Very irately, I stated "You can get the parts; you just don't want to work on my watch. I don't buy counterfeits. Merry Christmas!" I recently took in two of my rings to get an estimate for repair. Not sure why but instead of getting an estimate, they fixed my rings without my knowing the cost up front. I was surprised when they called to tell me my rings were ready. I recently had so many expenses that I was not in a financial situation to have them fixed. One of the rings they fixed, they only charged me $30.00 which I thought was so inexpensive. The other ring they had a stone specially cut into a diamond shape and set it in my ring that had a missing stone. The cost was reasonable but like I said I wasn't ready to have the work done. After explaining my situation they reduced the cost by $60.00 over the phone. When I went today to pick up my ring I was so happy, it is beautiful. They did such an amazing job. I was not only happy with their work but so appreciative of the discount they gave me. As far as I'm concerned they will always be my jeweler. I really like the staff there, they are pleasant, yeah they're not all sappy and fake, they are to the point, but I appreciate that! read more
