Okay so there are businesses and there are people who LOVE their businesses and it shows with their…read moreintegrity and follow through in service. Dr. Doolighting is the latter. I am still in absolute awe of Dr. Doolighting's commitment to his craft and his word! I called Dr. Doolighting for a free estimate on my Elk Grove house. Isaac told me he'll try his best to fit me in his already VERY BUSY 2014 season. And he was true to his word! I had a last minute trip to the Big Island, Hawaii for a photoshoot. Isaac reassured me my house would be done by the time I returned. Unfortunately this has been a VERY RAINY season for Elk Grove. My Mom said he arrived at 9pm and he stayed until 2am! But because of the relentless rain he still couldn't finish. He returned a couple days later. And lo and behold he left a sight so beautiful I was moved to tears. YES TEARS I tell you! Here is my Facebook excerpt from December 19, 2014 with a pic of my home: "Dear FB Friends, The Christmas season is a time for reflection and feelings of joy, peace, and love. Unfortunately most of us feel stressed, over worked as more obligations are thrown on top of the usual responsibilities. It's a trying time... Let's face it. But the other day, I came upon something that warmed my hear to tears and I wanted to share that with you in hopes that perhaps in the small things we can find joy, peace, and love. This is my lovely home in Elk Grove, CA bought and mortgaged by yours truly, a single unmarried woman. I hired a professional Christmas lighting company- "Dr. Doolighting" to decorate my house this Christmas season. So when the Christmas lights came on my home in Elk Grove, I couldn't help but cry. I didn't have much growing up. My parents worked multiple jobs as immigrants from Korea. Most of my toys were hand me downs from my older Brother. Christmas lighting on our childhood house was not an option especially since we lived in such a bad neighborhood (outskirts of Los Angeles Korea Town). When I see my Christmas lights, I see my family's sacrifice and my hard work and God's eternal love. Moaning about my troubles faded in the background as I am truly so grateful to be alive, to have survived breast cancer (2008-2010), and still here to appreciate the simple things. I love you FB friends and fans for allowing me to dream and continue to dream outside the box and allowing me to be unconventional and true to myself. Thank you for coming on this journey with me. This is the best Christmas of my whole life. I wish you only the same and more. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!" THANK YOU Dr. Doolighting for the inspiration this Christmas season and for being the kind of business I will stand by and support for as long as you're around. Please sign me up for NUMBER ONE on your to do list for 2015! I am a fan forever! His prices are reasonable considering how expensive lights are in general to do a whole house. And how labor intensive and how much effort and love he puts into what he does. I wish I could give him 10 stars. BRAVO Dr. Doolighting!!!

This year I'd like to increase his star rating over 5 if I could! We noticed that the lights were out! We checked the source to make sure it wasn't something like a blown breaker. We contacted him at 8 pm he wanted to come out at 11 pm that night. This guy does an amazing job. The lights look fantastic and the service is amazing. No risking your life climbing on a roof! Love these folks! Can't give them enough kudos! I totally recommend these folks! GREAT JOB!

I've just had a great experience with Tina at The Lighting Palace. First I want to say that the…read morephone number listed for her lamp repair business is wrong. Her cell number is 916-705-3980. The listed number is for her husband's separate business (vintage advertising signs) operated from the same address. If you are seeking a lighting repair it's best to send her a text with a photo. I contacted her last week about my pharmacy lamp thinking that it was flickering because of a wiring issue. She took one look at my photo and said it was more likely to be the switch. She gave me a reasonable estimate to repair it and we made an appointment for 10 AM this morning. She had it ready in perhaps 20 minutes - she recommended I remain during the repair to avoid having to make a separate trip to pick it up. It's gratifying in this throwaway world to find knowledgeable repair people to restore valued items to use at a fair price. She was also careful to advise me in advance that she does not take credit cards.

I'm floored by how rude these people are. I wish I'd looked at reviews before I contacted them…read more I didn't get the name of the person I spoke to via text, but based on the other reviews I can only assume it was the infamous Tina. Tina likes to randomly delete text messages from less than a week ago and then act confused and annoyed when you follow up a few days later, as though I was the one who deleted all the context of our conversation instead of her. You see, Tina is an unfortunate combination of mean and stupid. She lacks reading comprehension but still insists on only communicating via text, and then she will misunderstand what you wrote and get rude about it. I had two lamps needing repair. I initially contacted her about a floor lamp, a modern bridge lamp with a broken connector. She told me that part was not able to be replaced but she could sell me an antique bridge lamp base to use with my stained glass shade. I was disappointed and unsure if I wanted to do that or not, so I asked for photos. She sent over very poor photos that did not show the base in its entirety. I responded that I wasn't sure how it would all look together because I couldn't see the whole thing at once, and she cut the conversation short. Whatever, I wasn't sure what to do and I got busy so I didn't respond back right away. Four days later, I decided I should probably just buy the base, so I sent a message asking if the base was still available. I also asked if there was any way she could help with another lamp that I nearly finished putting back together, but there were a few parts that I could not quite figure out where they had gone before. Being a lamp repair business, I thought this was a reasonable request, but apparently I was wrong. I've attached those messages in their entirety. Don't even bother trying to work with these people. They will shame you for asking about lamp repair and make everything about how much money they can earn.
