I contacted Bill for an emergent electrical issue dealing with a smart switch that was for our front porch light. The smart switch kept flickering on and off and it was making an annoying clicking sound. I contacted him via Yelp around 7 AM and he reached out within 5 minutes via phone call. Very friendly and patient and he let me explain my issue to him. He scheduled a visit for later in the afternoon and recommended that I shut off the breaker switch that controlled that light so that the clicking stopped. He fixed it within 5-10 minutes and he also answered other questions we had about a future project that we're thinking about starting. He offered a discount for the first-time visit as well. I had a beeping smoke detector at 4am today. Finally got up at 7am to remove it from my hallway ceiling (was hard wired with no battery) and the beep kept coming. Decided to call Camps Electrical because I was about to give up thinking I tried everything but the beep was still there somehow and I wasn't sure what the heck I was missing! I got a call back within 10 minutes and was instructed to check my other units nearby, turns out it was my carbon monoxide detector (which was close by in the same hall but close to the floor installed a couple years ago). He was right ! After moving the battery operated CO detector and moving it outside to test it, it was clearly THAT unit beeping, not my smoke detector unit lol !!! I never thought to even check the CO unit since it was still pretty new, and I swear it really sounded like the beeps were coming from the smoke detector unit on the ceiling, I was sure if it!! In preparation for a kitchen remodel I wanted to get rid of the oak box with diffuser panels in my ceiling and I thought add a new fixture. He said to go to my gas fired water heater and see if a copper wire was installed from the natural gas line to the copper water line. I looked and it was there. We were in need of an electrician because of a "Handyman" we originally used which was a referral from a friend. Well this "Handyman" wasn't licensed and it was our fault for not doing our part and researching that individual. He messed up a few things in our home and some lights in our house blew a couple breakers outside. I'm not an electrician and I hate messing with electricity. Well I'm sure glad we were given Billy's number. We contacted him on Saturday and he was willing to rearrange his schedule, but we said no. He then said I can come on Sunday at 6:30 am just to accommodate us. Sunday didn't work for me because 6:30 am is way too early for me but already we appreciated how he was being flexible. Billy was straight forward and transparent with his costs. He knew right away what the issue was by me explaining everything to him, he has a lot of experience working on older electrical breaker boxes. We made arrangements to come on Monday. He showed up on time, he was professional and presented me with his card. We had already did our due diligence this time verifying his License # was valid and active. He had a lot of great reviews in his service. Everything lived up to his reputation. It took him about an hour to hour half to fix everything. He was answering any questions my wife and I had.
