We decided not to eat at Piz Gloria, to manage our time with sightseeing. But we were able to get in the restaurant and wander around inside to see the food they serve and the views all around without any issue. Once I got to the top, you get once in a lifetime views for some people who are not from here. You are rewarded with buying a beer or even eating pastries. I had some, and yes it was perfect. You get to take the tram down or hike down. I hiked up and tram down. The service is amazing, I bought a coffee cup up here and a post card. It is about the experience, and honestly one of my top 5 vacation moments ever. Don't trust the other reviews.

Taking the train from Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen, this is the first waterfall you'll see. You'll see 2 smaller ones within a quarter to half mile hike. You'll see flowers and lots of cows. The best angle is actually when you first see the waterfall. Not when you get closer or take a picture in front of it. It looks bigger from the side. There's a climb using stairs that would lead you to get closer to the waterfall. It's crowded and a lot of slow climbers. Be sure to eat before or after you start venturing to the other waterfalls. There are plenty of options between Staubbach Falls and the train station.

It's an easy walk from the village, which makes it accessible for all ages, and there's a short path that lets you get closer for an amazing view (and a little splash!). The surrounding scenery is unreal: green meadows, steep cliffs, and charming Swiss chalets everywhere you look. It's peaceful, awe-inspiring, and perfect for photos.

Yelp Review 2026 #122:…read more A fun thing to do and an amazing place to visit. I got with a discount for being a Swiss Travel Pass holder. The bus stop is right in front of this place so it's super easy to get to. I got here a few minutes after they opened. So, there were quite a few people without being crowded. Except some of the people who were there were obnoxiously loud and it echoes through the cave. There are signs posted to be quiet but some people choose to ignore signs. There are parts that are a bit slick, some parts you have to bend a little bit as the ceiling is low, there are steps and stairs, it's chilly since it's a cave. Si, be sure to bring a jacket and wear the right shoes. Be mindful of those with mobility issues, they might have to wait for you at the restaurant (it's still a steep trek though) while you tour the cave. A lot of people would take breaks on the way to the entrance. Bring water. Each part of the cave is numbered so just follow the numbers - however the arrows can be confusing. I got to number 18 and didn't know where to go I ended going back to where I came from so I walked back to 18, walked the opposite direction and made it to 19-22 before exiting. "According to a legend, St. Beatus lived here in the 2nd century, who was believed to be one of the Irish messengers of the faith. After his arrival, Beatus is said to have driven away the dragon dwelling in the cave and then settled there to preach the teachings of Christianity and heal the sick." You'll see St. Beatus' cell, stalactites, stalagmites, and grottoes. You can have a nice view of Lake Thun from here.

The views from the top and outside are truly magical, overlooking a massive lake that makes the entire visit feel surreal. QUICK heads-up... there is quite a bit of walking and many steps, and some areas can be slippery, so it may not be ideal for anyone with limited mobility. That said, if you're able to do the walk, it's 100% worth it. A truly beautiful and memorable experience.

The castle museum covers five floors including both cultural and historic displays. Each floor was organized with a theme and the displays are also noted in English. There are also some educational points for kids as well as a gift shop on the first floor. At the top of the tower, there are 4 rooms with amazing views of the city. These were the best views I've seen and on a clear day you see for miles -- the mountains and landscapes across Switzerland! You can just image how much the area has changed over the centuries but I am sure the view was always amazing. This was a great museum with lots to see a do. I enjoyed the new exhibits in the attic area and the logical flow of the museum overall. Sometimes castles are cold and filled with a lot of nothing, but this was quite the opposite! It is an easy walk up from the train station and although paths are marked here and there, just use your eyes to follow the stairs up to the castle. Also, the old town area is also a cute spot to walk around and stop for lunch! Note the shortened hours in the winter: April to October : daily 10.00-17.00 November to January : every Sunday 13.00-16.00 (24th December to 31st December 2017 open daily) February and March : every day 13.00-16.00
