Jeff Belanger was on top of things from the very beginning. I wasn't exactly sure what our plans were going to be but Jeff was very patient, responsive, and offered suggestions on lighting and other considerations that would make for better photos. Through the entire process Jeff was present, available, and always returned my emails and calls within 24 hours (usually within just a couple). That meant a lot to me and my wife. After a thorough, informative, and well-prepared presentation on options we opted to go with a package where both Jeff and Kristen could be there to take photographs for us. Our wedding was a very private elopement with only a few people in attendance so getting high quality photos of the event was a major priority for us-- and Jeff and Kristen delivered. All told, we had about 250+ great photos to down select from. They were able to come to Sheep Hill for the ceremony and were wiling to come with us to the Devonfield Inn for additional photograhs and we had some of our very best at both locations, so that was really great too. I found Scott's website back in February when I began the search for a photographer for our…read morewedding. We didn't want to use just any regular photographer, we wanted a photographer whose niche was weddings. When we saw Scott's pricing and stunning photography, we were sold. I called him up, spoke on the phone with him, and then actually met with him with my mom, who happened to be in town then (we were going wedding dress shopping). Since we live in Connecticut and Scott is in NH, he actually didn't meet Jay until a month before the wedding when we all met up at the Shattuck to go over details and so he could actually meet Jay, in order to get a feel for his personality and to see how the two of us interact. My husband isn't the type of man who does well with posed photography, and with Scott's perspective and style of not doing poses photography, but capturing everything in the moment and as it happens, we definitely felt confident with our choice of photographer. He has a very calm presence, and is a pleasure to work with. We absolutely love our photos, and highly recommend him.

My cousin was married here last weekend and I can't say enough nice things about the venue and…read morestaff. The old church is absolutely beautiful and had clearly been renovated and freshly painted. The detached former rectory next door held the guests for the cocktail hour and again, with the exception of the modern kitchen, this place had been renovated without losing its historic charm. The wedding and the reception were held in the old church space and the transformation from wedding venue to formal dining space that took place while everyone was next door for the cocktail hour was amazing. The best part of the venue? The lighting at the reception. I know this is a strange thing to highlight but I'm an amateur photographer so I notice these things. I'm not bragging when I say that I took some of the best pictures of my life and it was in no small part due to the fabulous lighting. It was soft and ethereal and super flattering on everyone. Anyway, the wedding was catered by a local restaurant bc I heard this venue didn't have a food option? I'm not sure if this is bc this is a new event business for the owners or if they're not going to offer catering ever so you might check on this. Bottom line, this was an amazing venue and I highly recommend it.

My fiancé and I had spoken with them via the wedding app Zola in hopes of touring the venue. After…read moreconfirming with an employee named Jj the date and time of our visit, we had reached out almost 2 hours prior to inform them we were running behind our scheduled meeting time. Upon arriving and hearing no reply via Zola, we proceeded to knock on the main house door as well as the chapel, and despite messaging again to try and confirm the exact meeting location we ended up waiting over an hour to hear nothing. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt as there wasn't clear communication of where we would meet, etc. While waiting we did notice the main house to be in need of a thorough cleaning. Despite the photos posted on the app, the actual building looked rather run down with rusty nails on the walkway and porch step, poking out of the bannister. After waiting almost an hour we ended up sending a goodbye message on Zola and let them know we were no longer interested in working with them. Anyone considering working with this venue for an event should remain cautious as they don't seem to have a good reputation with followthrough. If communication was improved and the buildings were better maintained it likely could have been a beautiful spot.
