I had a golf outing here and had never played at this course before. Having read the previous reviews I was hoping that this was at least a half way decent course. This is actually a pretty decent course. I have been to better and much worse. I liked how lush and mature the greens and fairways are kept. It's not a real challenging course but pretty fair to beginners and mid talent golfers. There are narrow fairways and wide fairways, short holes and long holes. A couple extra challenging par 3's to play. The food we had at the turn from Camp Ticonderoga restaurant was great. I'd play at this course anytime but must practice on hitting my ball to the right when driving down a couple holes close the road. read more

Just got to Sylvan Glen and had an issue with price which was resolved immediately. First class service to handle the issue. They just did some renovations on the pro shop which are now open and they look fantastic.I have played here many times but will continue to come because of the high level of service I just received. Great little course. A couple holes have some road noise, but it's well maintained. It's not tremendously challenging but the tips play decently long. Overall a nice track. Camp Ticonderoga is also a legit restaurant. read more

I'm amazed at the two other reviews. This course has turned into a dump. I sub on a league here once a month or so, and the greens are absolutely TERRIBLE (find me a course with worse greens, I dare ya), and they do very LITTLE maintenance to the course. In fact, they change the hole locations so infrequently that they then installed these ridiculous cup liners which go all the way to the surface of the grass. Sometimes they even stick above the surface! About the only tree trimming the course gets is when an insect decides to kill off a few trees, or lightning takes one down. And it is ALWAYS wet here. The only thing the course has going for it is Camp Ti with a nice outdoor deck. If it weren't for the fact that I like to hang with my buds for a cheap sub fee, no way would I come here. Billy Casper Golf took over this course maybe 3 years ago and hasn't done a thing with it. read more

Only golf here early in the morning on the weekend. Any time past 10:00am and they overbook and you will be waiting on every hole hole.

Worst Golf course ever! Stuffs are very very rude! They always push us to play faster, but the problem is there are too many people!! Actually, most of time we are waiting for the group before us!!!!! Moreover, I paid online but they ask me to pay again!!! They are saying there are no online payment accepted. I liked the back nine but playing the front nine with all the road noise does not give me the serenity i crave when I play golf.I thought the greens were in good shape and the fairways are pretty forgiving.The other thing I didn't like is that there are so many walkers.The exercise is great but it really slows down the game.Also, no beverage cart. read more

I am a resident of Troy, so I play here a few times a year. After 10 rounds I was eligible for a free cart for a future round. So, the next time I played I brought a friend. He had to pay for his cart rental and mine was free. Yet, when we each wanted our own, the manager at the desk said only one, you must share the cart. We walked away puzzled at such a stupid rule. I will not be going back to this course again, and neither my friend. He often mentions this cart rule that Troy has whenever we are at golf outing with our buddies. I usually feel a bit embarrassed when he brings this up because I'm a Troy resident, but It was below average course anyways......maybe that is why ! read more

i'm going to have to agree with dan t. the staff there horrible. one example is when i went with someone for twilight we made the turn at the 9th hole. the ranger was just sitting there at the 9th hole and wanted us to pay HIM for us to make the turn. REALLY!?!?!? IT'S TWILIGHT WE GET TO PLAY UNTIL IT GETS DARK!!!! but we still wanted to play so we paid him (10 bucks a piece) and he pocketed the money....great.... second time we went for twilight we got to make the turn without the ranger breathing down our necks but once we got to the 18th hole (sun still up) ranger comes barreling down the fairway and yells at us that we shouldn't be out playing also he threatened to take away our clubs (about 3k combined if sold) that took the last straw WE WERE LIVID!!! we yelled back at him saying we paid for twilight and if you don't know how twilight works you shouldn't be working here. we can golf til the sun sets not until you want to go home!!! he then realized we weren't joking around and backed off only reason they get 2 stars is because they course is actually decent for the price. decently maintained but some fairways and rough the grounds can be like hitting off concrete. don't go for any good service just go to golf and make your stand if ANYONE says anything about golfing past 9 on twilight read more
