We all know Stockdale doesn't have the best options when it comes to restaurants, but Sylvia's is pretty darn good. Been coming here since middle school (I'm 27 now and just recently moved to Stockdale) Breakfast never disappoints. The egg dishes are amazing and they have excellent refried beans. I'm not a huge fan of their lunch, but that's just personal due to some health restrictions. I will say I recently tried their chicken fajitas and could not take more than a bite. Tasted frozen and a little off. My family tried them as well and agreed with me. Overall great place and amazing staff. I'd give their breakfast a go for sure- just avoid the chicken fajitas. read more

A small Mexican Food restaurant in Stockdale, TX. Had a late lunch on a Friday. I ordered the fajitas plate, beef, with one crispy beef taco. Metal utensils, ceramic plates, paper napkins. Service was fast , had my drink at my table and entree order taken quickly. Was quiet inside, music at a very low level and TV was down low as well. I liked this. I was happy with the portion wand the quality and flavor of my meal. The fajitas were cut small as I like and were tender and flavorful. The beans had that cast iron skillet flavor I really like. The rice was just ok. Overall a pretty good lunch. I would go back. read more

We were fortunate to stop here for some breakfast tacos as we were passing through Stockdale. They were ready in a flash and were delicious. They were so good, we went back for lunch as we passed through town again on our way home. The chile rellenos were also delicious! The service is great and the prices are reasonable. I'm not sure how this place has won best Mexican restaurant but then again there's only like 3 options in town... Customer service is okay. I do like how you can order ahead and pick up from the hidden drive thru window in the back. I've had many different breakfast and lunch items from here and everything has been very simple and bland tasting. Food is okay for Tex Mex but definitely has a lot of potential for improvement. read more

SYLVIA's Mexican Restaurant is a Must Stop & Eat place when passing thru or visiting Stockdale, TX. Located on 617 SH 123 South. They have plenty of parking in front & rear of business. Once inside I was warmly greeted by my Server, Ms Madison. She presented me with a delicious complimentary serving of chips & delicious red salsa. They have Lunch Specials and provide Dine In, To Go & Drive Thru service. I ordered the #1 Plate. Mexican Plate and a Beef Fajita Taco. Food was served quickly & it was served Hot. Food is Delicious and Sweet Tea was brewed perfectly. Not too sweet and over plenty of Ice. The inside is very clean & well kept and staff is very Friendly & seems happy to be employed by Ms Sylvia. They are Open Tuesday Thru Sunday from 5:30am til 2pm. Closed on Mondays. I Highly recommend this Restaurant and look forward to my next meal here. Bon Appetite, Y'all. read more

Best taco for the best price. Have been eating here since I was very young. Every-time I come to visit family I stop by and grab breakfast.

We had the special, Steak A La Mexicana. It was delicious would definitely stop there again. The tortillas were perfect, soft and delicious. The only downside was I had to ask for an itemized receipt. I like to see my receipt before I pay. read more

I think that Sylviasvis a quick go to restaurant with excellent service and the only lplace on the southeast with patas in the menudo .

Food is bland! No seasoning on anything. The service is good. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce.

We were told our entree would have ground beef in it, but did not. Brought it to the manager's attention, but she was very rude and still insisted it was in it. Never have I complained about food at a restaurant. I am 70 years old, I think I can recognize ground beef. I told her my taco had ground beef, and I know what it looks like. she got very cocky and rude, and told us to pay (no apologies). A simple, small discount would have done. She told us when she goes to a restaurant and order something she eats it and pays for it.....No big deal, will not go there again. read more

Folks here were so polite, and the service was speedy. My favorite treat was the salsa. Not too spicy, and not too wimpy. I loved it! The chalupas were okay, as were the beef tacos. The service and the locals were friendly and enjoyable. read more

I go here frequently with my Dad. If it's breakfast time I always get huevos rancheros and it's always good. Lunch time I mix it up. Yesterday I had the #1. Mexican Plate which has 2 enchilladas (I chose beef), 1 crunchy taco, 1 tostada and rice and beans. The food is always good. This isn't the best Mexican food I've ever had, but it's always hot, fresh and good. I will say that I had the tostada for the first time yesterday and I thought it was really good because of the way that they fried the tostada shell. The texture, taste and crunch of it was different that any other tostada shell I've had, which made this one totally special and tasty. Definitely give this place a try. read more

My family and I stopped here as our last resort and it was amazing. We ordered the chile relleno, the Mexican plate, and the enchilada plate - all were more than fantastic. My co worker and I stopped here on the way to Mcallen. Great chips and salsa. Waitresses were also great. Food was standard but nothing special about it. Everything was good until we went to check out to leave. Apparently the owner is the only one that is allowed to use the register. Also, the owner seemed to have control issues with the Waitresses taking the tables orders. I found that really odd. So we stood there for 10 min while three workers told us they had called the owner to check us out. Once we got our tickets running a debit/credit card seemed to be a major ordeal.
