Growing up I never knew anything about chiropractic- when I was sick or had any minor ache/pain I went to the medical doctor, got an antibiotic and called it a day. Chiropractors treated back pain after all, right? I never had back pain so I never needed a chiro. I was SO wrong. My life changed last spring when I saw my friend Samantha's post on facebook saying that her office was looking for a full time position to be filled as a chiropractic assistant. I started full time with Dr. Tim last June, just after I graduated college. For years I had suffered with scalp psoriasis (for which I had seen my medical doctor, dermatologist, spent a ridiculous amount of money on products, etc) and none of that seemed to work very well. Shortly after I started working for Dr Tim, and getting my regular adjustments, I realized my psoriasis was nearly gone. I had changed nothing about my lifestyle besides that I was now getting adjusted. Chiropractic is so much more than neck and back pain. I am 69 years old and have been using chiropractic services for about 25 years, for the last 6 years I have been with Dr. Erickson, Symmetry Chiropractic. Together with Dr. Erickson, Samantha and Meaghan it has been a great experience. The most important reason is of course my body is well aligned, this helps me at my age to continue a very active life style. A month ago together with my son and daughter we did the Gallatin Traverse in Yellowstone Park. This pack backing trip required me to carry 40 pounds, hike 40 miles and travel up (actually up and down) from 7000 feet to 10,000 feet over a 4 day time frame over difficult terrain. I never thought I'd go to a chiropractor but when I found out my baby was breech, I started looking into my options as I desperately want to avoid a c-section if I can! I came across something called the Webster technique and through a current patient of Dr. Tim, found out that he was familiar with the technique and had a 100% success rate with turning babies. I went to him 2 days in a row and then had an OB appointment. Sure enough, my little guy is in the right position now! I couldn't be happier that something so non-invasive and low risk worked before having to take the more extreme measure of an external cephalic version to flip the baby in the hospital (which involves an epidural, medications to stop contractions and fetal monitoring due to potential risks to the baby). On top of that, Dr Tim fixed my vertigo that I was experiencing in one visit and is helping me with the aches and pains of pregnancy. His staff is also amazing- friendly and knowledgeable. Before I started seeing Dr. Erickson, I never knew the advantages of chiropractic. In September of 2013 I got into a minor car accident and broke out into bad eczema on the back of my neck. Within 2 adjustments the eczema was gone! Not only has he helped me with my eczema but also with my seasonal allergies that I have suffered with all my life.
