Grilled vegetable flatbread - tasted much better than it looked! :p
    Ruhama Q.

I thought this place was alright. I was hesitant to visit after seeing the lackluster reviews for the Oak Ridges location closer to home, but gave in at the urging of a friend - no regrets though, always up for something new and this wasn't bad! First, service - our waiter was present throughout our dinner and seemed nice. No real complaints there! The decor wasn't quite my style but that's fine, I came to eat :) The menu is truly extensive and I appreciated that it provided caloric info for every dish (I was mildly horrified that the pastas I usually opt for elsewhere were close to 1,500 calories! :0) I went for a grilled vegetable flatbread ($14 and change pre tax/tip), which was fine for a light dinner and tasted pretty good (if you like goat cheese, it's a nice choice) despite its less exciting appearance/presentation. I'm not entirely sure it was made fresh, but the taste was fine. My friend worked through a giant vegetarian pad thai with remarkable speed, indicating to me that it was a decent choice (approx $15). Overall, I found Symposium to be okay.

Gotta love a good Eggs Benny in nice surroundings, with good service at a good price. Isn't this what the game is all about? I knew lunch would be around 3 PM, so I needed a Brekky to hold me over. Symposium was on the way, and looked better than your typical Daybreak. Better interior, better coffee, and just a better overall experience. I asked my attentive server if the Hollandaise was fresh made or synthetic. I was assured it was fresh, so I was in. My Benny arrived with crisp potatoes and 3 eggs on thick back bacon and English muffins. Normally I see lesser joints charging more for only 2 eggs--this is a deal! In comparison, I will never again eat Eggs Benedict at Cora's or Bagel World or Daybreak or Sunset Grill. They are all great places, but real Hollandaise for less cash is a win anyway you serve it!

    Fusilli pasta and steak wrap

We ordered the fusilli pasta and steak Wrap with the broccoli and cheddar soup. We had a trainee serve us which was shadowed by an older experienced staff. It was a pretty awkward experience for us as the older staff had to tell him the "right" ways every time he finished talking to us. Tbh I think he did fine on his own, and you could sense the pressure he was feeling. The pasta was very simple - could have definitely had more vegetables instead of just a few olives. The pasta portion was also pretty small for $15. The steak wrap was ok; they overloaded it with the sweet bbq sauce. The broccoli cheddar soup was just ok too - pretty thick than usual. They do however seem to have great specials and I do remember eating their burgers, which are not bad. Will probably come back just for their burgers, drinks and desserts.

There's a clear picture it's yellow mung beans not long rectangular coconut jelly! I had so look forward to coming for crepes and pho, but makes me doubt how authentic their food is if they can't even make the basic che dessert! The Che ba mau was disgustiing! Imagine coconut drink mixed with sour lime jello that's how it tasted! $9 for 2 drink seemed like a good deal but they have no idea how to make drinks!

They ended up buying the business between the two eateries, knocked down a couple of walls, and renamed the place CrepeStar Dessert Cafe and Bistro. This eatery is located at Aurora Shopping Centre. It's a plaza, so the name can be a bit misleading. There is plenty of parking. My orders have mostly been takeout. I came here a lot during the pandemic when you couldn't dine at restaurants. I have ordered a number of items for takeout, including the following: - Pork belly baos (two) that comes with fries - A side order of gravy - Chicken fresh rolls - Spicy grilled shrimp The pork belly baos were yummy! The veggies were crunchy and fresh. The pork belly was tender and flavourful. I would have put more protein in them, but they satisfied my craving for pork belly baos. If you have been reading my reviews for a bit, you'll know that fries aren't high on my list of sides. I'd rather get onion rings, a side salad, or sweet potato fries. However, I was game getting gravy. The fries taste homemade and weren't oily. You can see bits of potato skin on each fry. The gravy was perfect. It wasn't overly thick. It wasn't thin or salty. Just right. I enjoyed this combo. The fresh rolls are huge here! It was smart that they were separated by a banana leaf. The veggies here are amazingly crunchy and tasty. The vermicelli was done right. The chicken was tender and flavourful. Again, I feel that there could be more protein in it. Maybe I'm just a protein hog. The spicy grilled shrimp are yummy. They were plump and flavourful. My food was impeccably packed and tasted so fresh with every bite. I have dined in once. I had ordered grilled pork belly pho (P8). The owners advised that they were short on pork belly. I got steak, too! The pho here was fantastic. The broth was amazing. The pork belly and steak were tender and flavourful. I loved it! It comes in one size -- generous! I recently came here to pick up Krispy Kreme donuts. They were a part of the Best Buddies Prom drive. This charity that promotes inclusion by creating lasting one-to-one friendships between individuals living with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD and Autism Spectrum Disorder). The owners have an autistic son, so this charity drive was near and dear to them. I ordered a dozen donuts. They were ready for pickup at the end of February. I came here after work. It was easy to speak to a friendly male staffer and tell him my name. He immediately found my order and handed me my donuts. They were Krispy Kreme glaze donuts. You can't just have one. They were so fresh and yummy. Naturally, I looked at the Kawartha Lakes ice cream and sherbet flavours. I decided to get a cup of raspberry sherbet. The cup size was huge! I paid with a debit card. I tapped and was good. I thanked the nice man and headed to my car. I enjoyed my raspberry sherbet. It was delicious and refreshing. Kawartha Lakes does frozen treats right. It's a decent Vietnamese place in Aurora for good eats, which has rekindled my fondness for the town. The sherbet was excellent. I need to return and try the crepes next. (128)

I had never heard of it, but apparently they're an established chain. The store is large, bright and cheery. The smell hooks you immediately. It's basically a gourmet doughnut holes shop, with plenty of fancy coffees and cold beverages to accompany. I wanna say, think Tim's crossed with Starbucks, with the emphasis on the Puffs. The puffs are made to order, with so many flavours to choose from. You can purchase half dozen, dozen, and up, and mix the flavours for each half dozen. We bought a combo box of Oreo and Nutella. You can watch the staff preparing the dough in the kitchen, and while they add your toppings at the counter. Idk if they somehow learned about it being a birthday visit, or this is usual, but we got a baker's dozen. I'll take that puff instead of a cherry on top for sure, because they were delicious. They are on the sweet side. Our drinks were also on the sweet side but delicious. The coffee is freshly ground on order and everything tasted fresh. We both opted for coffee based cold drinks but they have slushees, fruity and I think some tea options. The coffee was nice and strong without tasting bitter. The seating was a little odd, cute little stools in line with the honeycomb decor as opposed to chairs. The space felt really open, like your conversation can be heard all around. It was clean and very spacious. The staff on our visit were great. I would definitely return if it were closer to me, and I will totally check out other locations.

I opted not going for any of the "kooky" combinations advertised as they looked WAY too sweet for me. There's only 3 soft serve flavours here. Vanilla, chocolate or twist (vanilla + choco). But in terms of coatings/dips, they have a TON. I spent a good 15 min deciding which dip I wanted to go with. The owner (I presume) was the one who took my order when I walked up to the register. He highly recommended that I opt for a waffle cone if I was going for a classic dip (I was leaning towards just getting a cup). He was so adamant that he threw in the waffle cone for free! Super nice guy and great customer service! Got a medium size, chocolate soft-serve with extra dark chocolate shell/exterior. These scoops are very generous. I prolly could've done with a small tbh since I was SOOO FULL after dinner loool. But yea, I'm glad I went with dark chocolate on chocolate soft-serve because the whole dessert was not sweet at all which I really enjoyed. If I'm back in the area one day with my gf, I'll take her here and share a dessert with her!
