The owner and staff are welcoming and not "high brow" and don't make you feel like you need to buy something, although even buying a small postcard, helps out the artist. If you are in Glen Arbor this summer, you must stop at this little out-of-the-way place on top of it the location of the art studio and the interior is absolutely magnificent. She paid no mind to me or the other (all white) people in the shop except to greet them, so we left before buying anything because we felt so uncomfortable. Coming here was always a big part of my childhood so i'm so shocked and saddened by the racist behavior. no other shops in Glen Arbor acted this way. There's lots of great galleries here, we won't be hitting this one again.

Prices run the gamut, but you can find some really great pieces on sale occasionally. Anyone from a kid to an adult with cash to burn can find something lovely to bring home from here. I've purchased so many pieces from here over the years, from small, whimsical animal prints, to a highly decorated full sized map of the area. Each and every piece still makes me happy, little bits of Glen Lake spread across the walls of my home.

There was an exterior exhibit along the front of the building, featuring paintings by Debra Howard, and a lovely fairy garden populates the back, which really fits in with the gorgeous natural space. A small red box is also located out front - similar to a Little Free Library, but it's a cute Little Free Art Gallery! Materials were available on the back deck to make your own tiny piece of art to add to the gallery, and then you were welcome to take a piece you liked. We really enjoyed the extra touches of tiny people checking out the display. Inside is a small gallery space, which was showing a Members Create exhibit. It was a nice opportunity to see a variety of art - painting, photos, prints, mixed media, found art, and more. Staff was friendly and welcoming!

I wanted a little bit of everything, for sure, but ultimately exhibited some rare self-restraint and only purchased a cute M-22 hat! :) I wear it all the time now! The workers were so friendly and I can't wait to come back and probably buy up their collection of dog leashes and collars because I'm still thinking about it to this day! :)
