But with the service of having someone train me in my own home, building healthier habits and self care has been a game-changer. Armin provided a Log journal to keep track of my progress, along with a meal plan. The workouts he has provided have made me feel more confident and has toned my body like I haven't seen in years. I still have some progress to make, but with the help of Armin fitness I feel more hopeful to reach my goal. Switch offers a wide variety of classes. They have a gym on one side with strength and conditioning classes, and MMA and boxing classes on the other, they sell gear, the bathrooms are clean, the music is great, plenty of parking, and I think they have a shower. The classes are consistent and run throughout the early morning into the evening, which makes it easy to find something that fits your schedule. The best part of all is the people, the coaches and the students. You really do run into every type of person there, and everyone is welcome. I genuinely feel that. You just have to show up with respect and a little dedication. I've had the pleasure of learning from Coach Marvin, Coach Andre, and Coach Rob, who owns the gym, he is definitely doing something right. They all have so much to offer. The 7am Muay Thai Coach, Coach Marvin has an incredible eye for detail and can explain or show technique in different ways depending on what clicks for you. He doesn't just explain how to do something, he explains why, which shows how deep his knowledge really is. He also has thoughtful things to say beyond technique and understands that everyone comes in for different reasons, which makes his perspective really valuable. Rob and Andre have also coached early morning Muay Thai, and they're both extremely talented and give you personal pointers. It's cool getting a mix of styles, but what stands out is that they all build off each other's teaching and give each other credit. There's a lot of respect there. All 3 make it fun and motivating. It's a perfect balance of work, discipline, and even humor. You walk out feeling accomplished and better than when you walked in. The environment stays positive. I haven't met one rude person. Everyone has been cool, understanding that I'm new, and willing to offer support or advice. Watching the more experienced students drill together gives you something to work toward. As I improved, they gave me more advanced, tailored guidance. It's clear that they encourage kindness towards others, hard work, AND fun. Coach Rob often has a large class with varying skill levels, yet he makes time to help everyone individually. In just one hour classes, he still manages to give every person a bit of personal attention. He even took extra time after a couple of classes to give me pointed, informed direction that made a huge impact on my progress. Coach Toby is the best, and I feel lucky to get to learn from him! He's super patient, pays great attention to technique, and pushes me in a way that's kind and constructive. Coach Panda is a smart fighter, sees exactly where I need to make improvements, and is super encouraging. Coach Marvin is also super helpful, hardworking, and patient. The entire staff at the gym has positive vibes, and all the coaches push you without putting you down. Every class I take (which is every weekday!) I feel like I gained something, and I get excited about the improvements I'm making. Now - The gym is always in new multiple ownership hands and has been a revolving door for owners since ~2021. Unfortunately this has caused a lot of growing pains. You can see they're trying but just keep missing the marks. The gym is typically unclean. Notifications - They will not cover all grounds... i.e. a text (that people have opted out on for a cancelled class), an instagram story post - when not everyone is on social media....etc. Hours - continuously changing & dwindling - 5am/9am/noon/430pm/530pm/sometimes a 630 could be olympic lifting, could be open gym, could not be a class time... depends on the season and day of the week, for ~$160/month Coaches - Most are friendly & enthusiastic with a knowledgable drive to help. Although once you've been around the gym long enough, most stop coaching you. They become tunnel focused on a few individuals in class. Have had owners & other coaches cop passive aggressive attitudes & comments for no reason. Owners & coaches have been known to discuss business or speak illy of drop-ins, members, previous members, or other owners during business hours & directly in front of the individual as if they are not present. Administrative owners will write notes & keep unprofessional tabs on clients via their Wodify (software program) account to include information about the client's personal life & the way that admin owner personally feels about that client. Owners watch cameras to a neurotic point & if you forget to check into a class...they'll go back, watch the camera tapes & reading the boards (both - because sometimes you might just be doing open gym & not have your name on the board) & then check you into the class(es) days/ a week later.

Each class is 45 minutes, typically divided into 3-4 stations, so there's always something different. The trainers here are incredible--they motivate and push you to reach your potential. They're also great at modifying exercises if you're injured, sore, or need an easier alternative. I recommend arriving about 5 minutes early to stretch and get set up. One of the best things about a membership is that you can visit all the other NXPT locations. While I haven't been to them yet, I like knowing they offer classes like spin and yoga. You sign up for any class through the NXPT app. The community is welcoming to everyone, regardless of fitness level. You'll feel right at home whether you're new to working out or an experienced athlete. They also offer fantastic deals, like 10 days for $10 (if you're new that's the best deal to start), and couple packages. As of September 2024, the Santee location has classes at 4:30 AM, 5:30 AM, 7 AM, 8 AM, 9 AM, 3 PM, 4:30 PM, and 5:30 PM. Fridays don't have the 5:30 PM class, and on Saturdays, there are two classes: 7 AM and 8 AM. Pro tip: The wifi password is 'khaleesi' (no quotes). If you're looking for a friendly, challenging fitness community, I highly recommend NXPT!
