Great hidden spot that seems to be getting bigger. Came here on a weekday with my ClassPass credit and was excited to get a workout. The coach provided us with a stretch and a workout set of 5-6 different exercises that consisted of ball slams, kettlebell swings, jumping rope, squats with weights, toe touches, and v sit ups. Where do I even start on how much I love this place?? Shneur is exceptional. I have been to many fitness/bootcamp style establishments over the years. I've done yoga, pilates, indoor/outdoor bootcamps, at home crap, and everything else. I WANT to want to workout but nothing has ever stuck for me to actually stick with it. Make sense? I am 100% stuck on KettleFlex fitness. As with all specialty places, I started with a Groupon. For the first time ever, I actually used ALL of my sessions! I knew it would be worth the membership even if I only came 8 times a month. The "classes" are more of a do-it-at-your-own-pace style which I love. I genuinely feel like it's a personal training session more than a gym membership. There is a list of exercises is put on the whiteboard and thats the outline for the workout. No frills. Just get 'er done and get on with your day kind of workout. Shneur is encouraging and suggests when I should increase weight and helps me to push through my own mental blocks but he never barks orders or is drill sergeant-y. He will take as much time as you need to understand and exercise and never makes you feel like a goober when he's explained it 10 times and you're still doing it wrong (stupid Turkish getups or whatever). Ultimately I have not lost any weight, but my abs are TOTALLY COMING ALONG!! I can now do kettlebell swings with a 53 pound kettlebell. I can actually do push ups which I've never been successful at...and I am getting way better with the ab roller. I love this place and I love the laid back style of the training. I highly recommend you check it out. If you're looking for frills and foo foo crap, this isnt for you. But I'd you want a bomb ass workout, this is the place. read more

I LITERALLY cannot say enough wonderful things about tonight's class. First, Shneur was warm and welcoming. As a new student to the gym, but also new to San Diego it was so appreciated to be greeted with a kind smile, offered a mini tour of the gym and facilities. Next, the class sizes are small, which is wonderful, because you get a personalized training experience without paying the huge bill of 1:1 instruction. He walked around, instructing everyone's form, which anyone who has been to other gyms, knows that not all trainers in classes do that! Those that do, I come back! His passion for fitness and functional movements is palpable! I have bad knees, and a bad shoulder, and Shneur focused on what I can do the 23 hours a day that I'm not working out, to make that pain go away. Who does that anymore!? I hate working out. HATE. But with my wedding coming up it is time to get in shape. I thought about joining 24 hour fitness, but I know myself well enough to know that I would never make myself go. Shneur has offered to train me serveral times now but I thought KettleBells were for guys and would make me bulk up to much. I just started going to KettleFlex and really enjoy it. Shneur is a great trainer, and describes/demonstrates things in an easy-to-understand way. I like how the sessions aren't 100% kettlebells, it's more like a bootcamp or interval training where you do 3 sets of 6-8 unique exercises. So far they've kicked my butt, and I'm super sore, but I'm loving it. Highly recommend! read more

I was visiting San Diego for few days and a friend recommended KettleFlex Fitness. It was the first time i train with kettle bells, so I was a bit nervous. In my experience, it was a hit and miss if the instructors will actually coach you and be hands on with your training. The class was usually small which was good, but many times the instructor would be sitting back doing their own thing while you work out their made up plan on the whiteboard. If you have an injury, they weren't the most vigilant with remembering and/or caring to watch your movements to help with modifying or to see if you have proper form. The owner of the gym was on his phone a lot while "watching" ppl work out. The other lady/trainer was a lot more approachable in my opinion and would offer help. read more

This is great place for a full body workout. Every day is different which keeps things new and exciting. It is really great to go in and not have to think about coming up with my own workout plan. Kettle bells are a great full body workout. I've never been able to isolate some areas of my lower back/glutes, but the Kettle bells definitely worked them out. Shneur is a trainer there and he put me to the test. He wasn't a jerk, he's really nice, but a good motivator! He was really good coaching me on my form. I'd always wondered what the big deal was with kettlebell training, since it just seemed like weights with a handle, but after just a short session with them, I can see why it works so good. Shneur is a very professional trainer and I found that the environment in group classes was more fun, but the more conservative types might prefer personal training. This gym definitely has a Rocky Balboa feel to it but I love that. No frills, no hype, just hard work with a knowledgeable staff. The workout is intense but constantly changing and never boring. I had been sitting on the couch so long that even the introductory workouts were difficult for me, I got frustrated and found myself wanting to quit. Fortunately I talked to my instructor about it and he helped me scale them back just enough to keep me motivated. My 24 hour fitness membership expired so i thought i would try something different. I purchased a living social deal which i believe included 12 work out sessions for $29. Its really a good deal since the classes are small and its like having your own personal trainer. If you think your in shape you might be in for a rude awakening. I had never done Kettle Bell class before and was interested in trying something new. The one hour training session was extremely helpful and invaluable. The trainer was very detailed in his explanations about the Kettle Bell swing and worked with me to make sure that I knew the basics. The workouts are intense and fun. I always feel it the next day! I am a regular crossfiter at Cave Crossfit in Los Angeles, I came down to san diego for the weekend and was looking for a place to get a workout in. My friend recommended KettleFlex Fitness, I looked online and saw they had group classes, kettlebell classes, and 1on1 personal training. I love using kettlebells so i figured i would give it a try. The workouts are similar to crossfit except they dont use olympic style weightlifting, instead doing the same movements with kettlebells. The trainer went over the kettlebell movements with me to make sure i was using proper form and technique and he gave me a bunch of tips to improve my kettlebells workouts. i got a great workout, enjoyed the atmosphere and will definitely come back here when I need another workout in san diego. read more

I recently moved out to San Diego from la, and i was looking for a new fitness gym. I heard about KettleFlex Fitness from friends who raved about this place, and I knew I had to try out the kettlebell class. The class sizes were small which meant Shneur, the trainer, was able to help me with my form and technique. It felt like I was getting personal training for a fraction of the price. I tried one of their bootcamp classes, which is more body weight and conditioning and less of an emphasis on kettlebells, but still kicked my butt. Shneur kept us motivated to keep pushing without yelling in our faces. His saying " I never said it would be easy, but it is worth it" rings true, the workouts are not easy but they are fun. Each day there is a new workout which is great because I get bored easily, and never get bored with these workouts. I feel better, have improved strength and conditioning. I started going here in back in spring in 2012. i was on and off in 2013. the owner, Shneur is cool. his prices are definitely reasonable. he is also very accommodating and flexible with scheduling. my only complaint (and i will take part of the blame) is that during our one and one he seemed very disinterested.i hate exercising and i was very slow. so i understand that i was not the most exciting person to work with but sheesh that's why i sought help from a personal trainer, i NEED MOTIVATION. i preferred working out with him when he was at the park before he got the studio. i am no longer located in san diego but i wish kettleflex fitness the best of luck and if i ever return back to the area, i would be willing to give it another try read more

I've been coming here since June 2014. You get the benefits of a personal trainer without the price tag. It's truly fantastic. My legs are getting some crazy looking muscles, I've had to buy new jeans twice! Be prepared to get drenched in your own sweat. You can complain through the workout if you want, Shneur has been very tolerant of my complaining rants. You will be very sore, it sucks in the best way possible. I love that there is an emphasis on proper posture and functional fitness. There is a different workout everyday so it doesn't get boring, there is constantly new challenges. I've noticed a drastic loss of PURE FAT I'm building some fantastic lean muscle. If you can get over the smell of sweat and tears you will love this place. I highly recommend it. This is the BEST workout ever!! If you are looking for an exercise class that gives you results - this is the place to be. Your first lesson is an intro where you are taught how to do the kettlebell exercises properly, which is great because I've had other trainers incorporate kettlebells into the workout and there was no instruction on technique. I was in town for 2 months and wanted a place to go to to kick start me working out again. I found the exact right place. I absolutely loved the workouts here, they were challenging, scalable, and intense. I was surprised at how much endurance and strength I built up in that short amount of time. Before coming here I was in decent shape since trained for and ran half marathons and other races and lifted weights and played sports regularly but I wanted to step it up and KettleFlex definitely does. By the end of every workout I am standing in a puddle of sweat. The workouts are varied and fun and you can usually go at your own pace. Whatever your fitness level or goals, this place will help you reach them. I've only been coming here a few months and I've already started using the heavier kettlebells, doing higher box jumps, easier double unders and burpees (you'll learn to love these), and shaved minutes off of my race times. read more

I came across this gym by chance and so glad I did. I am coming off of an injury so let's just say I was apprehensive to get back into a gym. The space is a nice size, the rigs and equipment are all nice and clean, even the bathroom is nice! The owner, Shneur invited me for an evaluation, listened, made the whole experience stress free and actually fun. My first session was all stretch, recovery, and mobility.
