She refused, saying she was the only one there. The call lasted at least 10 minutes. I got extremely upset crying and yelling and she hung up on me. I called and spoke with the doctor who owns the practice today. He informed me he was in fact there during my conversation with his administrator on Friday and heard the whole thing. I may be wrong, but didn't this doctor take an OATH to DO NO HARM? He listened to the conversation and not once interjected to help me? Didn't pick up the phone to offer help to his patient who couldn't breathe? What???

I drive over an hour each way to see her and it's been so worth it. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep. I've seen such drastic improvements that I genuinely feel like I have a new baseline. I feel so much more in control of my anxiety now and honestly like a completely different person than I was just a few months ago. It's been truly life changing. I honestly wish I could see her weekly. The closest way I can describe how you feel leaving a session is like you just had a massage; you're so relaxed, grounded, and at ease. Marisa has truly touched my life. She is genuinely an angel. She listens, she cares deeply, and she is incredibly dedicated to her clients. If she doesn't have an answer right away, she always follows up, whether by email or the next time you see her, which says so much about the level of thought and attention she gives. I don't feel comfortable around many people, but there's something about her energy that is so light and reassuring. She creates such a safe, welcoming environment, and it makes all the difference. I am also an experienced herbalist and flower essence practitioner, and I took the several-months long course with David Dalton, which included a few well-organized webinars and a series of recorded videos. We also had e-mail support from his office, received discount to purchase their essences (and no pressure to buy them), we were entitled to two shorter phone sessions with David or another practitioner in his clinic. We were given meaningful homework assignments. Considering that the field of flower and gem essences is quite unknown, and we don't have a strong unified community her in the U.S., what David does for the field is tremendous. He created a system for use of essences with clients so that they receive the most benefit for their concerns, and he focuses on physical concerns more than other flower essence practitioners. Not many practitioners have the courage, wisdom, and hands-on experience to help clients with serious health issues. David is also a pioneer in the realm of teaching about flower essences. There are many shy practitioners around the world who talk about helping clients with emotional concerns or spiritual growth, but David has a clinic, sees clients for weeks or months at a time, and has seen first-hand that his treatment style works. He then designed an effective and comprehensive teaching system so other herbalists and practitioners could learn from it and incorporate his system in their practice if they wish. Students learn about hundreds of essences, not just about the handful of teasel essences. While David uses pendulum in his clinic, I never got the impression that we have to use a pendulum. I remember him emphasizing that we can use other methods of selecting of essences for clients that work well for us. David is not the shamanic type.
