When we first pulled up we were disappointed that there wasn't much privacy and there were close neighbors on either side (both blaring music when we arrived). Not a great start, but tried to keep an open mind and looked at the inside of the house. The outside was adorable, but when looking inside, it looked far more dated than in the photos. We quickly realized that this wasn't going to be the cabin in the woods we were looking for. The realtor who showed it to us (Rebecca), was not engaging at all. She didn't ask us where we were looking, what we were looking for, how long we've been looking, or anything to indicate she would be someone we would want to work with in the future. She asked to send me more listings. Based on our interaction, I politely said no thank you, and that I look at places coming up online all the time in a few different areas so she didn't need to send me more listings. About an hour later I received a ve aggressive text message from the listing agent that she was appalled that we would waste a realtors time on a Sunday if we didn't have intentions of buying. We are interested in buying if it's the right place, but we simply didn't like the house or the realtor. I wouldn't have driven three hours out of our way with a toddler if we weren't interested. Being rude and aggressive is not the way to gain prospective clients. UPDATE: The owner of the company reached out right away to address my concerns. I was delayed in getting him the screenshots of the text exchange with the realtor. I finally did and he did very quickly take the time to provide a thoughtful response. Kevin Leibowitz at Grayton Mortgage was exceptional throughout. As first-time buyers, we came to this process with limited knowledge of how mortgages work. Kevin invested considerable time in telephone conversations where he walked us through the fundamentals -- how loan structures work, what the key figures mean, and how different decisions would affect our outcome at closing. He was never dismissive of our questions and consistently ensured we understood what we were agreeing to before moving forward. His value became most apparent on closing day itself.
