The random ten minute videos on YouTube were fantastic starters, but I realized that I wanted something more so I found Grace, a studio local to me. The first session was free, so it was a good way to get introduced to the place and the people there. So let's start there. I almost had enough time to say hello to the receptionist when she recognized that I was a new face, smiled, and introduced herself to me. She offered a tour to me, which was friendly, but I was surprised that another attendee offered to take me on a tour herself! It was clear to me then that the friendliness was contagious. I really appreciate that the equipment is available at no cost. Having the mats, the blocks, the bands, and even blankets there meant that I could participate at the same level that more experienced yogis could. This first session, I rolled out in the back as Jade started speaking. The whole experience was wonderful, but something she said stood out to me: when someone's phone rang and they apologized, Jade responded with a smile and said "Don't be sorry. This just means someone's thinking of you." And then I knew that the community was eager to share their wisdom and peace with others. On the community board (which highlights members, friends, and local services) I saw that the first month was available for a reduced price, and after such a wonderful first experience, I knew I was going to sign up. I'm almost done with this month and have practiced under different instructors but have found them all incredibly welcoming. I also appreciate the ability to participate from home, which I've done on several occasions, and an equal level of engagement from the instructor. I've had a really positive experience thus far and am excited for many more months of good yoga and community!

I've also taken rise and rest yoga with Lenore. This was a relaxing way to wind down from a busy day. I recently competed a yoga strength class with Amy. This was an all-level class and she offered us options to modify or intensify each move. Amy played a nice mix of songs from her phone during the class; however, the music kept being interrupted by notification dings, which was distracting. Overall, I found Grace Studio to be a decent place for a yoga workout. The studio is equipped with mats, weights, blocks, resistance bands, and bolsters. Instructors offer verbal assists rather than hands-on adjustments for yoga moves. Instructors are welcoming, the studio is bright and inviting, and classes are not crowded.

This experience surpassed all of my expectations in every dimension. The town of San Pancho is a hidden treasure to behold, filled with culture and kindness, playfulness and humility. The artisans are creative and quality unlike other vacations I have taken. A balanced between luxury and simplicity that I didn't know I needed. The cuisine was delicious and inspiring , made by a lovely couple who catered and curated fresh ingredients and took all the decisions out of our hands leaving us to relish in the the food and fellowship that meals and meaningful gatherings are capable of achieving. I learned about yoga and so, so much more. Breath work, journaling, aromatherapy and healing. Connecting to nature and loosening or grip on things that are not serving. The level of detail and thoughtfulness that went into this trip are not lost on me. Thank you for making this trip so special nurturing each of us.

Her instructions are simply amazing. This is a smooth running operation that provides a top notch service and I love referring people because I know they will be as happy as I have been with the experience. I take Pilates, yoga (Iyengar) and Pilates Total Fitness (a brutal...brutally awesome!) hybrid class. The yoga classes are great. Each instructor takes the time to correct, and the focus is less on speed and more on holding the pose. While each teacher's style varies (some focus on sequences, others don't) I always walk away feeling that light headed, wobbly muscle yoga feeling. The Pilates practiced at Balance is "Power Pilates" which I've learned is a classic form. I've taken both reformer and mat, and both are great workouts. Last is Pilates Total Fitness. All I have to say is these classes, especially the one with Jane, will make you weep..but in a good way, I promise!

The implements are in good condition, and they clean them between each class. They also give you a hot towel with aromatherapy oils at the end. In addition, since it was my first class, after we finished the girl at the front desk gave me a card with the other class dates and a little sachet of dry lavender! This place was so cute and well kept. I would definitely come here again, they had great vibes.

I decided to try it out. The place was literally 5 minutes away from my house, so it was very convenient to get there. They have only a couple of parking spots available in front of the building, so I was not sure if I can park next door, but took my chances and everything was fine. When I stepped in to the studio, I was surprise how small it was. It was just one room in the front and one in the back. I was welcomed by the instructor and filled out a short form. The workshop lasted for 2 hours and was an overall introduction to yoga. It was very nice, I enjoyed the session. There was about 7 people, 5 women and 2 men. I liked the pace and that the instructor talked about the different poses. Overall it was a great experience for my first time yoga and I will definitely come back for some classes - if my schedule allows or I will try another studio close by. But this experience gave me a go ahead for yoga and that was my goal! Thank you!

However, once I discovered Allay Yoga in the Fall of 2010, I was hooked and have been exclusively at Allay since. The absolute best thing about Allay is Pam, one of the instructors. On the first day I went to the studio, she inquired about my yoga experience, my level of comfort with different styles and poses, what parts of my body were open and tight, and even the style of music I liked. Then, this is the best part, she incorporated my unique desires and needs into that class session and everyone thereafter. Pam even goes so far as to ask at the start of each session what kind of practice we want that day, and then leads a class that reflects our desires. This means that some days we focus on deep stretches, some days are more restorative, and others push us to find our edge. I also love the small class sizes and Pam's hands-on approach. I am a fairly advanced yogi, so I enjoy going beyond the basic sun salutation. Pam always provides opportunities for more advanced poses, even when others in the class are at a beginner level, but always is there to guide my body into alignment. This is the definition of individualized attention and the reason that I am dedicated to this studio.
