I don't think I could have found a more perfect place with quality taste, and affordable meals for the size that you get. This place is a hidden gem that I don't know why it's not busting out the seams. I ordered a chicken Shawarma sandwich. An order of grape leaves an order of their chicken shish and their beef shish and I have been able to meal prep for 4 days plus have a good lunch. I walked in at about 2:30 on a Thursday afternoon, and a young kid greeted me and went over the menu with me. The ambience is very clean straightforward nicely decorated. I will have to go back with my partner to try the buffet on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

An Arab neighbor had recommended this place a while ago and I have been craving it ever since. He told to make sure to go on the weekend when they have their signature buffet. The place is completely unpretentious, decoration is simple, but the food does all the talking. I started out with some delicious falafel, hummus, tabbouleh and baba ganush with some pita bread. I then went for the kebab and the rice with lamb, omg this was so goodddd!! I ended filling my plate no less than 3 times. The end of the buffet is topped with typical desserts and fruits from which the baklava was my favourite.

One of the very best Mediterranean foods I've ever had. The best part is they offer All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) on Fridays/Saturday/Sunday which is the best way to take advantage of most of the food they offer. Aside from those days, they offer their regular menu items. And if you are planning to come eat at Syriana Grill, come here very hungry, be prepared to feast and fill that belly with goodness. Pretty much everything I tried that day from the buffet was delicious, in exception to the Grape Leaves which was just okay to me. We came to eat here on a Friday and was seated right away. Awesome, attentive service. Inside decor and atmosphere is very inviting. Definitely will be coming back again, and again, and again.

Chicken kabab with rice and salad. Delicious.

Blown away by how good the food is here. Authentic Syrian food delicious, healthy, and reasonably priced. You will not be disappointed.

The buffet is a great choice.

This place is absolutely amazing and the food is delicious and fresh. We were so pleased with our meal and the buffet provided so many wonderful choices, you get so much food and the price is great. The owner came and spoke to us as well and she is lovely!! Definitely give Syriana Grill a try!!

Mixed grill platter (by special request). Lamb, beef, and chicken kebabs. Amazing flavors!

This restaurant is perhaps the best middle eastern cuisine I have had in the United States (not just Jacksonville). Each of the dishes we had was perfectly prepared, flavored, and presented. We ordered a mixed grill platter family style. It was amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who is seeking an authentic taste of Syrian and Lebanese cuisine. The service was impeccable and the restaurant was exceptionally clean with a beautiful ambiance. I will be back to try their buffet.

I knew we were in the right area so I yelped and you didn't fail me! This is hand down the best tasting Mediterranean I have had since the original "HALA cafe" owners retired in early 2000's. The buffet had all the good stuff including super fresh tabouleh! I'll go into more on that but first I'll tell you that I didn't get many pictures because I joined the clean plate club! There was Kabob and fresh Dolmas, chicken schwarma, a wrap with lamb and chicken marinated so well you didn't need to dip it in babaganoush but....I did! Hummus and chickpea soup, fresh pita and cucumber salad. Oh, and now more about the tabouleh, It's been so long since I've been able to eat out and get tabbouleh. Many of the faux med gyro and that chain Cava don't even have it on the menu because you have to make it fresh and can't buy it in bulk from the restaurant supply. Lemon, oh the flavor of the herbs and oil with the lemon was all that I could hope for. The owners have really made this place special. The little upscale touches like velvet curtains, marble wrapped tables, covers on the chairs and music that makes you feel happy! Right now I need happy and this place delivered!

I came in as a solo diner and was seated quickly, although my table was kind of nestled underneath the high outdoor bar. That meant hearing some of the bartender's phone conversations. I ordered a glass of Lebanese rose wine and liked it! But my meal wasn't impressive. The vegetarian grape leaves (one of my favorite dishes, generally) were OK, although several were split up on my plate (but hey, it happens). I thought the flavor was underwhelming; there was a lot of acidity but nothing else. I also ordered a side of "extra crispy seasoned potato fries" which just turned out to be generic crinkle fries with salt. Definitely wouldn't order those again. I thought maybe there would be some sort of twist on them? The big frustration was service. The restaurant was far from full when I went -- I counted maybe a dozen seated tables. After I finished eating, I spent more than 30 minutes trying to get my waiter's attention to get my check even as I sat with my plates pushed away, glasses empty, and credit card out. He walked by multiple times to wait on and check with other tables, and I saw at least five other employees working in the front of house and walking by me. Even when I got his attention for the check, it took quite a few minutes to get it, despite him walking out to other tables. (Although I will note he seemed busier than the other employees!) My check before tip came to $24, which felt on the pricey side for what I got. I hope I'm wrong, but I got the vibe that I wasn't exactly their favorite type of guest -- a solo diner who wasn't smoking hookah. (I noticed another solo non-smoker go similarly unnoticed by staff.) Maybe they heavily favor regulars, too. But they weren't at capacity, and I'd have gotten out quicker had I been able to pay. Maybe it was just an off night. But it's just not a great feeling to be ignored.

Bright, clean and has the character of a great local, family owned restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly and informative. You order at the register where you can see the clean and busy kitchen directly behind. Your food is then brought out to you and everything is made fresh. There are Coke products in a soda fountain and a refrigerator with sodas, beer and wine. We ordered the Vegetarian Platter. First, the best hummus and tahini in the area. The falafel is fantastic along with the gyro. I wasn't expecting the fries to be so amazing but they were crispy and seasoned so well. Everything hit, and this is a new go-to for us. If you're anywhere near Arlington and want great Mediterranean food, you must try Tabouleh. One of Jacksonville's best to me.

Standouts on the platter were the warm grape leaves, the hummus, and the tabouleh salad. The falafel was tasty but a bit greasy. The spinach pie had great flavors but would have been better served warm. The pita was warmed and great for dipping in that delicious hummus. I have a new favorite hummus in Jacksonville. My chicken shawarma wrap was filled with chicken and so well seasoned. I have half left for another meal. The fries were crinkle cut but cooked crispy with a seasoning, really liked them. The place had seating options inside and outside too.

Food -- 3/5 Stars…read more First, let me say that based on the appetizers, I genuinely thought I was about to give the food five stars. My friend ordered the Casbah House Fries, and they were SO good. I ordered the Zaytoon, which is essentially marinated olives, and those were really good too. At that point, I'm thinking, okay Casbah, y'all might be onto something. Unfortunately, the entrée didn't quite keep that same momentum for me. I ordered the Half Rack Lamb Chops, and I felt like my lamb was overcooked. I ended up ordering a side of tzatziki, which definitely helped, but I don't necessarily want to need a sauce to make a $38 entrée more enjoyable. I'd absolutely order the appetizers again, but next time I'd probably try a different entrée--or honestly, just make a meal out of appetizers. Ambiance -- 5/5 Stars Now THIS is where Casbah shines. The place is definitely a vibe. Inside feels a little more intimate, while outside has a completely different energy with the music playing, hookah flowing, and people just enjoying themselves. I also liked the TVs around the bar. It's a small touch, but it makes the space work for sports fans who want to catch a game without necessarily going to a traditional sports bar. I'd return for the atmosphere alone. Service -- 2/5 Stars I'm honestly wondering if they may have been understaffed during our visit. Our server was nice, so my rating isn't about her attitude at all. She just seemed overwhelmed, and unfortunately, that showed in the amount of time it took for her to check back in with us or return with things we'd requested. There were several moments where we were simply waiting much longer than expected. She was pleasant when we interacted with her, but the service itself could definitely have been more attentive. Drinks -- 3/5 Stars The drinks were okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing made me stop and say, Ohhhh, you HAVE to try this. I wouldn't specifically return to Casbah because I'm craving one of their cocktails, but if I'm already there enjoying the atmosphere and hookah, I'd have another drink. Overall -- 4/5 Stars Overall, I'm giving Casbah four stars because despite a few misses, it's still somewhere I'd return. Personally, I think Casbah works better as a "meet your friends, order a bunch of appetizers, get some hookah, have a couple drinks, and enjoy the vibe" kind of place than a traditional date-night dinner spot. And honestly? That's perfectly fine. Every restaurant doesn't have to be everything. Give me those Casbah House Fries, some Zaytoon, good music, a couple drinks, and a table outside with friends, and I could absolutely see myself having a good time here again. What I Ordered: Zaytoon -- $5.00 Half Rack Lamb Chops -- $38.00 Side of Tzatziki -- $2.00 Summer Rose Cocktail -- $15.00 Blueberry Mojito -- $14.00 Service Fee: $8.15 "A small service fee is applied to all transactions to help cover operational cost." Total: $82.15
