I'm not sure where to begin with this 10 star review and yes 10 stars! Five does not do it justice. First when you walk in it feels very authentic to the culture. Your greeted by the owners who work the restaurant and take pride in their establishment. They provided us with a complementary hot tea sample. That was so good. I could have drank that and been happy and had nothing else! The food where to begin? Typically I do not do sauces because that is not my thing but there's well let's just say I devoured it! It was so phenomenal and the chicken moist flavorful outstanding I cannot brag enough about how phenomenal that chicken dish was. Now let's talk about the vegetables. They were seasoned to perfection and cooked where they were still crunchy but yet they were soft enough that you didn't have to worry. The vegetables were outstanding and I wanted to get second helping on the vegetables they were that good! The pita bread looked to be homemade, but given it was Passover I was not able to try it. So long story short I'm coming back Friday night because that pita bread looked like it was in-house made and it looks so so good! I have been coming here many times and I love their food so much! It's definitely a quick bite or solo lunch/ dinner spot. I go there alone often and I don't feel awkward being there. You can also buy middle eastern groceries at the restaurant. It's not a fancy restaurant but they have food that those fancy restaurants charge twice more! They make falafel from scratch and they don't use powder or ground beans. They actually grind dry garbanzo beans. Please support this small restaurant. We came here at 1pm on a Saturday. We weren't sure where we wanted to go or what kind of food we got so we saw all the good reviews here and we stopped in. You walk in and walk up to the counter where they have a menu for you to look at the order the food and sit down and the same lady that took our order cooked our food and delivered our food. We got a lamb Gyro and a beef Shawarma hot sandwich and we split them. The beef Shawarma sandwich was a perfect amount of beef and spiced nicely. And I had crisp vegetables would definitely get that again. The lamb gyro was delicious. It definitely tasted like it was more lamb than beef. It had a bit more lamb flavor than most of the gyros I've had in the past. The gyro had tzatziki sauce on it, not too much, but it was enough , the sauce that was on the stage, was similar, but I'm not sure if it would be exact I was not crazy about the type of rap that it was in. We had a large order for delivery. The PRO: it arrived quickly, the rice tasted good. The CONS: 1) my 6 y/o nephew unfortunately took a bite of his chicken fingers and the chicken was completely RAW. Thankfully we noticed immediately. 2) beef shawrama was full of fatty pieces, and inedible. 3) chicken shawrama had a weird citrus aftertaste and was tough/overcooked. 4) the dolmas (Grape leave) was disgusting- very dry and no flavor. I threw it out after one bite... it tasted like it was very old. 5) the tabouleh was full of long stems that got caught in the back of my brother's throat. 6) the baba ganoush had a bitter aftertaste, perhaps this was old too? We called and was passed around on the phone, there's a communication barrier... they didn't seem to understand the gravity of my nephew eating raw chicken. We drove there to get a refund. Samira Cafe left me full of regret and still kind of hungry. I ordered a beef shawarma platter for eighteen dollars and expected a proper meal. What I got looked like it was assembled during a fire drill. The portion was so small I honestly thought they handed me someone else's leftovers. The salad cost ten dollars. Let that sink in. They made it smaller and charged more. That takes a special kind of creativity. The lentil soup was eight dollars and barely filled half the cup. At this point I was just impressed by how confidently underwhelming everything was. And no utensils. Just tied plastic bags and a silent dare to figure it out on my own. I love strong flavors that you can find in Indian or southwestern cuisines, but I also appreciate the milder, cleaner flavors that Mediterranean food lends. Appreciate may be too light of word since samira's is now one of my current hyper-fixation restaurants. I ordered the lentil soup (delightfully and comfortingly mild. Almost akin to egg drop soup in flavor but with a different texture since there's no egg). I also got the chicken shish taouk (no strong spices) with grilled veggies (generous chunks and tabbouleh (lemony and so so good). Everything tasted fresh and made with love. My husband loves the Black Bean Salad, I have to agree, it's very tasty!! And don't forget to get some dessert, it's all incredible! No alcoholic beverages but they do have to go and looks like Uber Eats, Door Dash, Grubhub and something w/Google. Can't get any easier than that. An unassuming, little joint that serves up some excellent platters and sandwhiches. I've been here a handful of times and the chicken shish tawook is my go-to item on the menu. It's got the perfect balance of chicken, pickled turnips, lettuce and garlic sauce. So good. The falafel is a good finger food or starter as well. The couple that works this restaurant are always very friendly which goes a long way. Prices are definitely fair and the portions are perfect. Ordered through Door dash, was excited to try this new place. The meat was covered in sauce making it difficult to taste the flavor of the actual meat. The rice was good and I love the large veggies in the salad however there was way too much salad dressing. This was an ok trip for me. I was hoping to get some steak kabobs. I checked website prior to going but when I got there, they removed it from their menu so I had to settle for something else. My family ordered gyros for take out. We were very excited that a gyro joint opened in Fruit Cove, unfortunately we were disappointed. So I'll start with the good: the food was on time and the over all food quality is good. However their gyro execution is just bad and off. 1. Dry: There is next to no tzatziki on the gyros and it's not very good. Also we ordered extra for the fries and they charged .75 for a small half filled container. I'd rather spend $3 for a larger container. 2. Pita: it's not a pita it's more a tortilla and it's wrapped like a burrito. Just odd. Over all, I won't be back. read more

This small Middle Eastern Cafe is fantastic! It has a small grocery store up friend with some staples. The menu covers all the bases you would hope for in this cuisine. I had the lamb gyro platter with veggies and fries while my mom had the falafel platter. The baba ghanoush was amazing and had a nice smoky finish that left both of us impressed. The gyro was very nice. It was smaller than I expected, but when combined with the sides, it was more than enough. The prices are fair for the amount and quality of food. I love this cafe and go there once a week for their amazing pita wraps. I've had the chicken kebab, chicken Shawarma, and spinach pie, but haven't ventured out trying anything new yet because these are my go-to favorites. The pita chips and hummus are delicious too. We have ordered food from Samira's before. The food is a wonderful representation of what great cultural food should taste like. The chickpea and eggplant dips are "to die for". Very flavorful and very traditional. My youngest son asks to order from here every time he comes home from school. He recently came home from Atlanta after eating at a "gyro" establishment and said that Samira's is still the best. Granted we have had to experience what the traditional food is- but now we know it is really great. Service is also wonderful. These are gentle people and they will go the distance to provide service. The ambiance is calm and inviting, clean and a place to sit and enjoy your food. The takeout area is great. This place never disappoints. We are regulars and love the falafel sandwich with the red lentil soup. The interior decoration are beautiful with a well lit presentation makes it a delightful dinning experience. Their service is always on point. They are so nice and pleasant versus a lot of other places American and foreign my wife and I have been to which is why we keep coming back. OMG!!! We are Lebanese and this is the BEST Middle Eastern restaurant we've tried... and we've tried them all! It tastes home made! We've been to the restaurant and also ordered uber eats. The other restaurants didn't include the sides when we ordered uber eats and the food was dry and cold. Samira's was a complete order, everything warm and soooo good! We ordered kibbeh balls, kefta, tabouli, hummus, babaganoush, fatoush, warak enab (grape leaves) and rice.... The owner is very friendly and caring. Can't wait to go on Tuesdays to get the malfouf (stuffed cabbage rolls) and Fridays to get the kibbeh niyeh... if you haven't been there... you are missing out! After looking for somewhere new to eat, Yelp brought us to Noura Cafe in Bartram Oak Walk right over the Julington Creek Bridge in St. John's County. It's in the strip mall right next to where the old Starbucks use to be/next door to Brass Tacks Coffee. Got to meet Noura, and let her know how much we enjoyed the food and service. Everything we tried was fresh and yummy! First time ever having baba ganoush and beef kefta and both were tasty. Really liked the hummus and the rice, which was plump and flavorful. The baklava was buttery and not too sweet like some I've tried. I had to buy a pack from the ready to go cooler to take home, since they were so good.
