My only complaint is that it was a little hard to get service (and it wasn't that busy when we were there), but you there is an outdoor bar you can always walk up to order a drink. Here's how it went at Calle P.! Atmosphere/Appearance: So right outside of the Berns Hotel at the edge of the park is this gem. It's oddly placed, but it kinda makes sense for it to be where it is. You can have a nice meal here then hit the Berns nightclub to party the night away! Part of the restaurant is covered with a glass roof and the other side is completely open. This place has a very open concept with a nice bar and it exudes excellence. I loved the feeling of dining here. The people were beautiful, young, fun, energetic and it was just the place to be on a Saturday night. Service: I can't remember the name of the 2 servers who took care of me, but they were both awesome. One of them was the bartender who really helped me out since I didn't speak the native language and he made some great recommendations. The young lady who took care of me was very sweet, attentive and she made me feel like I was the only one in the entire restaurant! Food: I started off with a delicious dirty martini. It was everything I was looking for and even came with bleu cheese olives, my favorite kind. For my appetizer I went with the steak tartar. It was deliciously creamy and soft rare steak served with fried capers, pickled mustard seeds, kataifi dough, onion, celeriac and topped with parmesan cheese. It was so succulent and balanced. For my entrée I opted for the catch of the day. I can't remember what it was exactly, but it was also deliciously cream, flaky, a tad bit sweet and so well seasoned. I don't often opt for fish at restaurants, but this was a fantastic choice. Value: My steak tartar was 155.00 kr, but that translates to $14.99 in USD. My entrée was $285.00 kr which translates to $27.57 and my martini was 168.00 kr which converts to $16.25. The food was absolutely worth the price. The quality was just so amazing and worth it, but the drink... at $16.25 is up there. Those are New York City prices. Sheesh, but you have to pay to play! In conclusion, I really enjoyed myself here! I will come back again and again to explore the menu some more, especially since it changes so much. If you're in the area, check this place out before you hit the club!

We needed a respite from the bitter wind and happened to be just right next to this cute place (fyi, for us Americans, the actual business is called "Skeppsbro Bageri). It's right on the water and is a lovely sunny spot with lots of natural light. The ladies behind the counter didn't speak super great English but we got by with some pointing and in the end sat down to a lovely little snack and a coffee. We got an open-faced salmon sandwich that was covered in shaved fennel (so yummy if you like such things). We got a pain au chocolate (chocolate croissant), which was good. And I got this incredible cinnamon roll type pastry that was like a traditional cinnamon roll but with like a hard crunchy honey-ey type outside. It was so yummy. My husband went and got one for himself lol. Anyway, service was great, food was yummy, coffee was good. It was a lovely place to stop.

We were in Stockholm for a few days last week and spent one day on the island of Djurgården. After…read morevisiting a couple of museums on the island, we visited Wärdshuset Ulla Winbladh for lunch. The building is stunning - sweet and beautiful - originally built for the Stockholm Art and Industrial Exhibition in 1897. Later, it was a bakery and then a restaurant, until 1992, when restaurateur, cookbook author and food columnist Nils Emil Ahlin took over the inn and created the Ulla Winbladh we know today. The food is classically Swedish and completely delicious. We started our meal by sharing Toast Skagen (pieces of toasted bread and a prawn salad called skagenröra, typically made with mayonnaise, sour cream and dill, sometimes dijon mustard, and garnished with roe), which is incredibly popular in the warmer months in Nordic countries. (They split the portion onto two plates for us!) My husband ordered another classic - poached cod served with shrimp, chopped hard boiled eggs, freshly grated horseradish, browned butter, and potatoes. I had my first (but not last) herring of the trip - fried herring with mashed potatoes, lingonberries, and lightly pickled cucumber. We had a wine and beer and really enjoyed our leisurely lunch at this beautiful restaurant on the island of Djurgården. A very beautiful and delicious meal.

We had reindeer that was simply the softest red meat I've ever had, Salmon with the most delicious tartar sauce equivalent I've ever tasted, and sea bass that was light fluffy and gorgeous. Presentation was outstanding. We dined outside in the shadow of the building and watched the world go by. An excellent meal in every sense.
