It happened very quickly. I have a much loved garden that has been a joy for many years but became a neglected sad space ever since the COVID lockdown and there was no one to do the regular maintenance. The funny thing is how things accumulate and the neglect kind of feeds itself to become even deeper neglect. At some point, one simply throws up their hands, shrugs and gives up. Our neighbour was doing a remodel and I suppose Systems pavers were around to introduce themselves to the neighbors. That's when I first met one of their representative who made an appointment with their design person, Robin. My first meeting with Robin was detailed and we finished a (non judgemental.. to my relief) walk through the garden. We identified four different areas that could use some paver work. My much loved and well used garden already had many sentimental nooks and crannies. In the past, I haven't been able to do any work with other landscapers because every designer wanted to 'raze it down' for a 'clean slate'. I told Robin that I did not want to take away what made the garden special to me.. its familiar coziness and the nostalgia. Finally, we picked two areas to pave. The first area had to be a rectangular area leaving the existing fruit trees and rose bushes intact. And the second was a neglected spot that was visited by critters but had potential. Robin had fancy tools that quickly zigged and zagged on the screen for exact measurements. We finally chose to do only two areas because we haven't worked with Systems Pavers before and wanted to see their process. Suffice to say, we will work with them again for the front area also. Part 1 is done. For Part 2, Robin brought in their project manager and introduced Adrian. Adrian was very efficient and quickly managed/set expectations about timeline and what to expect in the next few days. They started on a Monday and finished on Thursday. Our expectations was that it would take a 5 days- a week! The crew came bright and early in the morning..and got to work right away. Adrian came to check on the work everyday and sent video messages about the progress when we weren't around to meet with him. During the border installation, more workers joined the crew. The borders seem to be the most challenging skill. We had also added two benches in the beginning by the door, but then I wanted it under the fruit trees instead. They were able to accommodate the change in its placement. It looks nice now. One thing lost in communication was the color of the pavers and the arrangement of it. It turned out fine.. so it's ok. I also liked that the installation crew cleaned up every day after the day's job was done. They didn't leave it messy until the completion day. So basically, there are three managers involved. Robin who did the design and initial development. Adrian who was the project manager. And Ben who was the head of the install team. The install crew was 2-4 people working on different things. The delivery of the pavers, informing the neighbours of the disturbance and even the porta potty for the crew was all taken care by them. The value is in the management. There are many companies and landscapers who install pavers. It's a straight forward job, but the co-ordination of all the different moving parts and tasks seamlessly with daily updates makes the experience painless with System Pavers. You definitely get what you pay for. I have had concrete and flagstone work done before. Pavers are going to be pricier than concrete, sure.. but this comes with a 25 year warranty (except around trees if paver stones are displaced or lifted due to aggressive roots). And the warranty is transferable even if the property is sold. It's definitely an investment. Every year, maintenance becomes an issue and it is becoming more and more difficult to find people who can do the hard work needed for a beautiful garden space that can be enjoyed. For me, heating me out and including the established fruit trees and roses in the design and building around it sealed the deal. While pavers can be for driveways or pathways or sitting areas.. for a small backyard space like mine, it has to perform many functions without sacrificing the greenery and still retain the look of a garden. We couldn't be happier with our new paver stone driveway! Not only did this company do a fantastic job, but they've restored our faith in humanity. We've always had flooding issues with our driveway, and a few years ago, we let a con man talk us into digging up our concrete driveway and replacing it with blacktop. It was a disaster, with some of the worst workmanship you could imagine, and it introduced a host of new issues. We were really reluctant to trust anyone to fix all of these problems. Enter Team System Pavers! Lidiana came in and came up with a vision (which I could tell she found challenging, but was undaunted). She broke down every part, and explained exactly how to address every single issue. And she made sure that we felt 100% good with our decision. When Ryan, our project manager came on, I knew we were in good hands. Again, he explained each step, and what we could expect. And the foreman, Ben, and his team were quick, professional, and provided a great level of craftsmanship! Now, this job didn't go off without a hitch; there were a few hiccups along the way. That's to be expected in any sort of job like this. What impressed me is that when I brought these matters up, Ryan apologized for the miscommunication, and they made it right immediately. The communication was excellent, and they made sure we were happy with everything before I signed off. Could we have gotten a new driveway for cheaper? Probably; especially if we would have gone with cement again. But could we have gotten a better, more professional, and pleasant team or a more beautiful driveway that fixed all of our problems? Erik Oller gave us a quote for artificial grass and pavers to replace the existing natural lawn and aggregate cement patio original to my 60 year old home. The fact that we have a very active 3 year old Border Collie who had worn paths into the sod that could not be fixed by natural landscape changes caused me to look for more durable alternatives. I am thrilled with the result using System Pavers. Due to my age, I'm no longer able to maintain my yard as I once did. Having the new paver patio and beautiful grass makes my inability to care for my yard myself a nonissue. The best part of the process was working with the great System Paver staff, primarily Adrian O'Donoghue, Project Manager, and Erik Oller, designer/salesman. Adrian is very conscientious and pays attention to detail. He does an excellent job of explaining all that is involved in a landscape remodel. I hired System Pavers for a side yard project and found their "end-to-end" approach incredibly refreshing. They managed everything from design to completion, unlike other contractors who left me scrambling to find additional help for specific tasks. The process was seamless, and the results are truly astonishing. Working with Ron was great as he was able to help design and upfront about the quote for the project. Now I will be honest in my review too. I cant say the entire process didn't carry some problems. There were some obstacles during the process, primarily due to the initial project manager's poor communication. For instance, the portable restroom that had been rented out was left in front of my driveway for days even after all the initial construction had been done leaving a terrible odor in the area. Also the slow or even lack of communication between me and possibly even within his own team had undoubtedly delayed the finishing of this project. However, System Pavers quickly addressed the issue by assigning a new project manager, Oscar Maciel, who was fantastic to work with. His professionalism, attention to detail, and clear communication stood out to me most. Not only did he resolve all the issues I identified, but he also went above and beyond, addressing problems I hadn't noticed and keeping me informed about the work schedule. It was basically night and day after Oscar had taken over. Any future projects I hire System Pavers for, I would definitely want to work with Oscar again. Adrian O'Donoghue from System Pavers really came thru for us. We were in the process of getting multiple bids to do our backyard when System Pavers did a door knock campaign at our new housing development by Shea Homes. The sales pitch was really good, & as they say "made us an offer we can't refuse". Short story long, the final finished pavers were not up to the standards we expected from the sales pitch. We had some serious issues with unevenness. Unfortunately the numerous fixes attempted by the project manager Rio, failed to remedy the problem. We became very frustrated. Fortunately, our dissatisfaction made it to the next level of management & Adrian came to our rescue. Adrian along with Brandon Derouen (construction manager) came to listen to our complaints. They both truly listened. They looked at the finished product & confirmed that it was not done right. To our surprise (pleasantly), they offered to take the whole thing apart & redo it the right way. Which they did. The pavers now look the way they should've looked in the first place. We also had an issue with the bark/mulch that was provided for the edges. They are of a very poor quality with lots of pieces of old chopped up wood signs & long ugly shards. To our surprise again, Adrian offered to take the old stuff out & replace it all with a better quality product. He dropped off a bunch of samples for us to pick. The task was scheduled & finished without a hitch. Thank you Adrian for really listening to our concerns & fixing everything to our satisfaction. System Pavers exceeded my expectations! I saw the System Pavers advertisement on my computer and the photos of their finished jobs on the website piqued my interest. I had been thinking about landscaping my yard but kept putting it off because it sounded like too much work. This time, I jumped in and made the call. Kelly Kasper, the Design Consultant, was out in a day or two. He listened to my ideas and drew up a plan with my complete "wish list," but also, one that was within my budget with a plan that I could add-on more components (like rocks and artificial turf) in the future. I chose to do the pavers only at this time and I do not have any regrets. The cost was reasonable, there were no hidden costs or surprises, and they did all the work, so it was very easy and stress-free (for my part). My Project Manager was Nick Padilla. He came out and marked the project in the dirt. He had even more intricate ideas that made my large walkway paver-project even more gorgeous than I could have imagined. We had our yard renovated a couple of years ago by a different company. We've had many issues~ water pooling instead of draining when it rained, there were lots of cracks between the pavers and the walkway they put in the front yard was coming apart and could be a hazard to anyone walking on it. We decided to try System Pavers. Anthony was our sales guy. He listened to our issues and came up with a way to fix the problem areas. We also had new work we wanted done ~ we asked them to remove a deck and create a patio, put pathways around our shed and removed the walkway in the front yard replacing it with proper steps. He gave us a few options, and help us design something we could enjoy. Adrian was our project manager ~ he was in constant contact from start to end, making sure we were happy with the work, did we have any questions or concerns (we didn't). He came by almost every day to see how the work was going. He went out of his way to look for pavers to match what we currently had (which he did!). The crew were professional and reliable, they showed up on time every day and even worked in the rain. They were able to lift up the existing pavers and reset them. They created a large landing and step on one side of the house with the new patio. The steps they created in the front are perfect, nicely spaced and safe. We love the new walkways around the shed. I recently contacted System Pavers regarding a maintenance issue with a walkway they installed in 2011, approximately 12 years ago. We had observed that the pavers had become uneven, with some sinking more than others, resulting in water pooling along the foundation of our house whenever it rained. Knowing their familiarity with the original installation, I requested their assistance in resetting the sunken pavers and adjusting the walkway's slope to prevent water accumulation near the foundation. Additionally, I inquired about their availability and any potential costs associated with the necessary maintenance work. To my surprise, shortly after sending the email, I received a prompt phone call from Adrian, one of their project managers. He visited our house on the same day and informed me that they would be able to perform the required job completely free of charge. Within just a couple of days, their skilled crew arrived on-site, removed the entire walkway, re-sloped the grade, and replaced the pavers, resulting in a walkway that looked as good as new. I'd like to acknowledge the exceptional work provided by System Pavers for the new artificial turf installed in my backyard. First, I'd like to thank Kelly Kasper, sales consultant. Kelly did a great job explaining the artificial turf installation process, turf type options, costs and financing. He also suggested that it would be possible to integrate my existing paver area to the left of the new lawn installation to tie it all together. Secondly, I'd like to acknowledge the project manager, Ryan and his construction lead Jose. The demolition, ground prep and installation of the new turf went very well. They kept me informed daily and let me know if any issues had come up. One example was what to do with the existing sprinkler system. I had two options which was to cap all of the water lines or keep one or two open for a drip system along the peripheral of the backyard. Initially, I wasn't sure which option was best and landed on keeping two. During the final turf installation a nail cracked the PVC water line. Both Ryan and Jose responded promptly to fix the issue and test both lines to ensure it was fixed. In summary, I am extremely happy with the results and the great customer service provided by all of the team members assigned to my project. 9 years ago, I did a beautiful backyard remodel with System Pavers complete with a new retaining wall, patio pavers and turf. The finished product looked fantastic and my overall experience with the company was very positive. Recently, I contacted Project Manager Oscar Maciel about the retaining wall needing repair. When Oscar came out to look at the wall, he pointed out that there were couple of places where the pavers and the turf also needed to be fixed. Oscar did a fantastic job of overseeing the entire project, which turned out to be a much bigger undertaking than we had anticipated. Oscar is extremely professional, personable, and trustworthy! He worked so hard on my behalf to ensure that all of the repairs were completed in a timely and highly professional manner and did a great job of making sure that I was kept informed at every step of the process. The project foreman and his team of highly skilled craftsmen did an amazing job of making the backyard remodel look brand new again. And it is especially noteworthy that System Pavers did all of this repair work and covered all of the labor at absolutely no expense to me. We originally used System Pavers to transform our driveway 19 years ago. They did fantastic work that drastically increased our curb appeal and the value of our home. We called them back recently to help us repair several stones that PG&E damaged when they dug a massive trench to increase the power to our house during a major remodel. They were very responsive and professional. Adrian O'Donoghue came out to provide the quote and he was fantastic. He advised on resetting the stones as well as professionally cleaning the stones, replacing the sand and sealing. I got a prompt written quote at a very reasonable price. He communicated clearly and honestly throughout the project, which only took a few days to complete once they started. After the damaged stones were reset I could not tell that there was any damage. Once the entire driveway was cleaned, sand replaced and sealed my driveway looked exactly like it did during the initial installation nearly 20 years ago. The workers were courteous, communicative and respected my property. These days its hard to find professional, personalized service from a contractor who won't try to gouge you. I contacted System Pavers to get a quote on laying a patio and installing turf in my backyard. Our backyard started out as a small dirt lot and was transformed into a beautiful patio. Lidiana came over to our home and walked us through the design process. She was able to take measurements of our backyard and input them into her design software. We looked through the options for pavers and within minutes she had a detailed design of our backyard with 3D flyovers. We decided on our design and got the project started. We were able to get discounts due to a holiday sale and having them start asap. Within 2 weeks our backyard was completely transformed. Jeff was assigned as our project manager and lead us through every step of the build. He was frequently updating us on when the workers would be at our house and when deliveries were scheduled. The process went very smooth! When the project was done the workers cleaned up the driveway where we had deliveries. They also bagged up some extra rock that we ordered to use in the front yard and stored it on the side of our house. They went above and beyond! We had a great experience in working with the team at System Pavers. From the initial contacts in setting appointments to the final sign off the team that we worked with was uniformly terrific. In particular our Project manager Adrian O'Donoghue was outstanding, he kept us informed and was able to keep the crews focused and on track. He went out of his way multiple times to help us solve the inevitable unforeseen problems (ex. The deck we were replacing had some dry rot that we could not see until demolition so he was able to help us get that repaired AND kept the project on track). The deck crew led by Joseph went out of their way to add value to the project and we love our new deck. The original project we had proposed was more ambitious than we thought and the permitting process in the city of Oakland turned out to be a huge bottleneck but the design team kept on it and we were able to modify the project to get it back on track. Few construction projects are perfectly smooth but when things get rocky you want a project manager like Adrian and System pavers navigating through the challenges.
