This team did a great job. First, get Darryl as your estimator/designer/guide. He really helped solidify our vision from idea into a project. Second, you'll be working with Everton, the owner. That makes communication easier - he's not always on site, but responds quickly when you reach out. In our case, it was a good size project: demolishing a concrete patio, installing a new drain system, two sets of steps, adjacent to a pool, and with a narrow alley access (no truck to the back yard). It took a little longer than expected, but the final result was worth it. The demo crew was efficient, neat, and worked safely. The prep crew spent a good deal of time installing the drain system, note the photo of the tie-in to the downspout - that was not in the proposal, but they felt it was the way to go. Too, they spent hours grading and leveling to insure the base was prepped correctly. The install crew took their time, and I was really pleased with the detail of the odd cuts required - see the angles and corners. As well, when I mentioned it, Everton made a special order to get grey drains for me (see photos), as they just looked better with the paver we chose (stock is black). The install crew even ripped up a section to install an additional drain right below the downspout for the patio cover I was having another contractor install. No one asked them to do that - they just felt it was the right thing to do. It's the extra details like these I feel set them apart. read more

We're very satisfied with the quality, craftsmanship and service we received from Wine Country Pavers. They recently installed a new paver patio and coping around our in-ground swimming pool. It was a big job, especially given the location of the job site, way down at the bottom/back of our property. The WCP crew not only had to demo and remove the old massive concrete patio, but had to haul enormous piles of sand, rock and pavers from the street, all the way down to the pool (by hand!). Great hardscape plan. Workers worked hard every day. Mixup on the scheduled start date. Mixup on the artificial turf choice. Mixup on the height of the wall. Mixup on the placement of turf seams. Mixup on the turf nails (common versus galvanized). Even though there were these mixups...they got it to my satisfaction and the price was a good 1/3 less than what system pavers would have charged for the same hardscape installation. Can recommend with the only caveat being you really have to pay attention to their work to ensure mixups get fixed before it is too late. read more

We hired Wine Country Pavers to create a front yard paver patio for our home. Although their bid was not the lowest, it was very reasonable and after seeing their work both online and in person, I felt they would create the best finished product. Keith came out to inspect the site and listen to what I was looking for and I immediately felt like he had a great understanding of my vision for the space. He made several suggestions that I incorporated into the project and was very personable and easy to work with. He drew up detailed plans for my review and provided several material pamphlets showing options for wall blocks, pavers, and wall caps. After deciding to proceed with the project, there was a 2-3 month wait before work could commence because of other projects they had lined up ahead of me, but this was not a problem as I was not in a rush. Once work began, the demo and excavation crew finished in two or three days, then the build crew arrived immediately after. The owner (Everton) checked in at the beginning of the project and a couple times during the demo and build to make sure we were all on the same page. I really appreciated that once they started, there was progress virtually every day, there was never a stall due to materials, crew availability, etc. The crew members were all very professional and respectful of our home and neighbors, they cleaned up the site as much as possible every day. The project took about 2 weeks, and the final product looks amazing. Such a fantastic company to work with. After getting ghosted by a local landscaping company, I reached out to many companies on yelp. We wanted to remove a chunk of concrete in our backyard and install artificial turf. WCP was by far the most professional company that responded. I wanted to add a secondary driveway to my home and requested quotes from three different providers. Wine Country Pavers came in with a competitive price as well as excellent customer service. We've waited a good 5 years before starting on our backyard, we had to save up and my husband and I kept looking for backyard ideas on Pinterest. It was finally time to get our backyard done and so we did a local search on Yelp. I'm so glad we came across Wine Country Pavers. I called the number posted here on Yelp and spoke to their receptionist. She was friendly on the phone and took my information. The next day Andy called back and asked what we were looking to get done, we set up a free consultation. During the consultation my husband and I told Andy our ideas of what we wanted our backyard to look like. We definitely asked for his professional opinion and he knew exactly what we wanted. He pulled out the sample stones and catalogs from the back of his SUV and we just knew that this company would be the one to complete our backyard. We went over the estimate (better than those we've gotten from other contractors), he sent the contract, we set a start date and that was that. The day before the project start date, Andy came over with Everton who went over the timeline of the project and made measurements and marks on our dirt backyard. We were all on the same page. I've always preferred pavers or stone work over decking. Out decks always got very hot, or attracted wasp nests, and over time needed more and more work. Our recent patios are made of pavers--and these transform the entire space in ways that are far more interesting and creative than mere decking. Pavers are put down after a lot of ground work happens first. Planning: WCP sends a rep to work with you, probably Andy - he prepares drawings and gives design ideas. If starting from scratch it helps to look at pavers at a design company. Look at catalogs like the Belgard product catalog. On one of our patios we used small pavers and had a south west look - on a more recent patio we are using larger pavers using grey & white. We have two colors - one for pavers and another color for edging. The designer helps with ideas and can direct you to a store. We used Belgard pavers which are really beautiful. For stone areas we used salt & pepper stones to fill in areas where we will not plant. Preparing: whether the yard is uneven, dipped or has too much dirt - WCP will smooth out the ground so water does not puddle, and is very mindful of drains and general drainage issues. One side of patio has a garden so we asked them to run electric out to that area for our water feature; also they ran a water pipe for us to set up watering systems. We planned the patio about six months ago & kept adjusting - until final plan. Took about 1 1/2 weeks to complete: patio, edging, walkway, garden stone area, etc. So much more fun and complex and texturized than a mere deck - unless you're on the ocean or a lake - where you might want treks - I like the beauty of pavers which now come in so many designs. It's not a huge patio but makes the back yard look much larger. Wine country pavers: good company and good crews - very artistic and they are into the details. read more
