TLDR: Horrible experience. Do NOT go here unless you want to be treated extremely rudely, spoken to like you are dumb, be charged for to go boxes, and be forced a 15% tip that is NOT disclosed anywhere on the receipt, menu, or inside the restaurant. Hotpot was the most expensive thing on the menu being $60 which is already a very high price as is. The menu was confusing because it said you got 4 meats and 4 other toppings and then the section under had two types of soups for $6 extra. My friend and I were confused because we figured the steep $60 cost would include a soup and the two soups that were an upcharge were special. The server came to take our order we think is also the owner or the manager because she was giving instructions to the other workers. When the server came to take our order we asked the server about what the broth would be if we didn't want the upcharge broths and she immediately already had an attitude and talked to us like we were dumb. She said that we HAD to pick from the upcharge broths and basically insinuated that if we just paid $60 we'd be getting raw meat and no broth which doesn't make sense to me because why not just include the cost in the price ?? Before we could even place our order she just huffed and stormed away and left us confused. We tried waving her over several times and she'd just make eye contact and walk the other direction. Eventually she came back and we just sucked it up and ordered w the upcharge broths. When she took the menus from us she slammed them down on the pile of menus in the front which was off putting. She brought us our food but gave us a plate and chopsticks. We had to attempt to wave her over several times before she finally came over so we can ask for bowls and spoons. She brought over bowls and no spoons. And we had to attempt several more times before we could get spoons. Every time we called her over she had an attitude like we were bothering her and she borderline rolled her eyes at us every time we asked for something. She also never brought a ladle for the soup either but we didn't wanna deal with her attitude again so we sucked it up and used our small soup spoons to grab soup into our bowls. Our server never checked on us while we were eating and eventually dropped off the check. We asked for to go boxes and she again seemed annoyed. She originally brought one large soup cup and one box for the meats and toppings when did NOT fit at all. We asked for a second soup cup so we can separate the broths and a second box so we can separate the meat and veggies. she again had an attitude and sighed. Then grabbed our original large soup cup and brought back two tiny ones that barely held half the soup on either side of the hotpot. We had to call her over again to ask for a bigger soup cup or a larger one and she brought over another tiny one. When we asked for a bigger one she said "if you want more boxes it's an upcharge" which is crazy to me bc we already paid a steep price for the food and now you wanna charge us for to go when you purposefully gave us smaller boxes so our food won't fit?? My friend went up to the counter to pay and the lady auto charged him a $10 tip. He was confused because no where on the receipt, menu, or in the store did it say tip was auto gratuity. On the reciept it self it also only said "suggest tips" with the price of 15%, 20%, and 25% tips. He tried to ask her why there was an auto tip and she completely ignored him and started talking to another customer. When she was done with that customer he asked her about it and she was SUPER rude and said "if you wanna eat here you have to tip." He was not planning on not tipping he wanted to change the tip lower due to the horrible service and get clarification on where the tip was an auto tip. We would've been fine paying the tip if it was disclosed beforehand but nowhere did it say that. He again asked if he can change it and she had a major attitude so we decided to just leave. In terms of the food itself. It was not worth the $66 price. The meat was not even the right type of meat for hotpot. It was thick slices like you would use for chow fun which does not go well with hotpot at all. The broth itself was fine and standard hotpot broth. The food was not worth the price and you can make it much cheaper at home with bigger portions. Overall, horrible experience and I would never go back here and never recommend anyone to eat there due to the extremely rude service and condescending tone of the server/owner. read more

I'll be honest the service can be abrupt but moving here from NYC I'm used to restaurants where the food is fantastic and service is not. BUT the FOOD!! The food is so incredible! Everything I've had has always been perfectly seasoned. I don't really mind the service and I just hope they never move away. This is not a fancy restaurant but the location is convenient and the food is phenomenal. I've personally been to this restaurant over 10 times and I try to order 1-2 new dishes I haven't tried each visit. I haven't tried the more Chinese American style dishes. I don't read Chinese and just try the authentic dishes with sometimes confusing English names. So hopefully these recommendations can help someone who wants to try really high quality, authentic Chinese food. Top two dishes for me: The spicy and crispy chicken are bits of golden crisp fried goodness sautéed with fermented black beans (dou si), chili peppers and Szechuan peppercorns. Tongue numbing and very pleasant spice level (I don't eat super spicy foods). Umami is through the roof. Sliced fish with salted mustard cabbage (generous chunks of boneless fish in a savory and tangy broth with pickled mustard greens, pickled garlic and pickled peppers -perfect for cold day but I can eat this all year round). Additional favorites: Fish slices and tofu in spicy sauce (deep fried fish chunks and silken tofu in mildly spicy Szechuan peppercorn 'mala' -numbing spicy sauce). Fatty beef in pickled sauce (it's actually a soup with thinly sliced tender beef, pickled mustard greens lightly tomato flavored broth) Cumin lamb/beef -both are super tender and flavorful Sliced Pork in garlic sauce (thin strips of stir fried pork w wood ear mushrooms in a very tasty and fragrant sauce) Sichuan style cucumbers (refreshing pickled cucumbers) Spicy green beans -perfectly cooked read more

Authentic and delicious. By far the best Chinese food in Columbia. But something Americans need to know is the best Chinese food is never at the place with the best ambience or friendliest staff. Our favorites are: 1. Cumin Lamb or Beef, both are absolutely amazing. 2. Spicy and Crispy Chicken 3. Sliced Pork w Garlic Sauce 4. Sliced Fish and Tofu w Spicy Sauce 5. Food was satisfactory but nothing to rave about. I keep waiting for a Chinese restaurant who sells General Tao's chicken, instead of General Tao's fried batter embracing skin. The taste was good however and the spicy green beans were good. I would try them again and my advice is to step up your quality. We came in on Christmas Day, and the place was pretty crowded! This was our first time here, and we had heard they had reopened at this new location. We were seated right away, and the menu was pretty extensive so it was hard to decide what to get. - Eggplant with chili sauce (4/5): this had good flavor, I love eggplant. It was semi sweet but still very savory. A bit on the oily side but tasty overall. - Beef fried rice (4.5/5): I loved this fried rice! Super yummy and very flavorful. The beef was cooked well and pretty tender too. - Sliced fish and tofu with spicy sauce (3.5/5): this dish was pretty unique, lots going on and lots of flavors. Pretty spicy but not overpowering. I read the reviews of bad customer service before walking in, thinking that sometimes the bad customer service can be due to a language barrier. So I asked the waitress in mandarin "what's good here?". She responded in a defensive tone, " if I tell you nothing is good, would you not eat and walk out?" . Then I asked " any recommendations? The food is AMAZING! The host/server however was extremely rude. She didn't speak to us when we came in, and was rude the entire time we were there. I ordered a tea and decided on a soda instead, she told me she couldn't take the tea back and never brought the soda. Another member of my party had to go to the front counter to ask for it (along with a missing appetizer) when brought to the table she slammed it down in front of me. Food is AMAZING. The Mongolian beef is delicious and honestly we finished that plate in 5 minutes. Hands down the best Mongolian beef I've ever had. The taste is unmatched. The General Tso's chicken is soooo crispy in a wonderfully slightly sweet, tangy sauce. The crunch is perfect. Their rice is cooked to perfection. Just ordered takeout from this place. Highly recommend the food here. I ordered: 1. steamed chicken with chili oil...it's served cold but you can also heat it up and it will still be moist and tender. This dish is spicy for those who can't tolerate spice but I love spicy food 2. Cucumber in chili oil- this one is good and fresh but there is a lot of chili oil and that might be a turn off for some but you just have to pick out the cucumbers if you don't like the oil. The oil is nice over steamed rice 3. Eggplant with chili. This one is my favorite. It's spicy and flavorful. Not too much oil either. Just got take out on Christmas day. Very grateful they were open! They have lots of choices with organ meats and very authentic looking offerings (and plenty of familiar American-Chinese options as well, for those of you feeling less adventurous). The staff was very courteous. When ordering online, we asked for no utensils except for chopsticks and they listened! Most places don't listen and give us lots of plastic dining ware. We ate: -Eggrolls: Well prepared and tasty. Did not come with my favorite duck sauce, so if you want the sauce, just make sure you ask for it. -Hot & Sour soup: Definitely hot, but didn't get much sour. I'd probably skip it next time. -Pork in garlic sauce: My favorite item! Lots of pepper flakes and chili oil, mushrooms, bamboo... It was delicious and flavorful. -Singapore noodles: They don't offer a choice of protein with these but they come with chicken or pork (I wasn't sure which), and were delicious! We don't live in Columbia but we pass through here a lot, and it's nice to add a new solid restaurant to our mix, CoMo has so many great ones. read more

I was really disappointed with going to this restaurant and being misled by previous reviews. With how high the prices were, I was expecting really good quality Chinese food, instead I received food that tasted like it came from a mall court. We spent over $110 in takeout, and I wish I had chosen a different restaurant to eat at. One dish, the kung pao chicken was completely inedible and we just threw it away. I likely will never eat here again, it was that unsatisfying and disappointing especially considering how expensive it was. In addition to that, the checkout person was not that friendly or accommodating. Do not go here! The food is delicious but be careful when you pay--especially with pick up orders. When I went to pick up my food I saw two different receipts (one stapled to the bag and one on printer paper) with different prices. If you order for pick up on their website, they require you to add a tip and then when they run your card at the restaurant there is another tip line again. CAREFUL WITH THE COUPON CODES. If you want the free rangoons that come with a $30 order, DO NOT ADD THEM TO YOUR CART. Only add the coupon code. When I went to pick up my order the price was higher than I expected. They said I ordered two orders of rangoons--the one I added to my cart and the one I "added" by using the coupon code (literally no other website does this). I told them I only wanted one order. They refused to let me just take one free order from the coupon code. All of their payment system is quite deceptive and made to have you overpay or double tip. Be cautious. read more

The hostess was very rude and that spoiled the experience right from the start. The hot and sour soup was almost inedible due to the excess spice level. Today is Thanksgiving 2023. I rate the food at a 10 for taste, pricey, but the menu does have rare items. The service was a 3 and I may be being generous. Surly service by the young lady working the counter (the two older employees seem nice), who seemed to not want me there. I was dressed as everyone else there, clean clothes fresh shave. I look Latino so that maybe an issue, also this entire town seems to have a problem with a single man who just want a nice meal and relax. Seems like they want you in and out of the place asap to get more white families and couples in there, though the place wasn't busy. the tea pot was greasy on the outside so I asked for a wet towel so I could clean it myself and be sure it was done right. I'll endure anything for beef tendon soup (they call it brisket but this is the traditional north Chinese beef tendon delicacy Imperial body guards and Kung Fu fighters prized).
