I did the "adult" thing & got three quotes. The other two were late, wish washy, cheaper but would take a long time. Anyone who has had work done or painting knows that having a bunch of strangers in your home sucks & creates chaos. Best to pay more to get the job done. Ross from Precision painting showed up on time (usually early during the job), had an industry discount with high-end Farrow & Ball paint, & left me his business card like a professional. He also knew about priming over different colors & surfaces & what my specific project needed for gloss levels, etc. Ross' quote was reasonable & he would be faster than the other guys. I confirmed with the woman holding down the organized office & decided to sign with them. Of course I added in wallpaper on the ceiling & crown moulding after I asked & Ross was calm about it, "yeah, we can do that" is not what I am used to hearing. He didn't second guess my wants as a woman & had capable men on hand to really make my dream room come true versus settling. We readjusted the quote to add in the new work & ALL FINANCIAL & TIME PARAMETERS WERE 100% CLEAR. There were no games around money or time- no saying he'd show up & then nothing. His crew were the best. They came early & were good people. Minimal mess. I have had all of this work done multiple times in the past with horrible messes & dust. I feel traumatized by past work but Ross + Precision Painting job was unbelievable. The room before was OK but boring & simplistic plus kind of messy & a bad paint job. Marty and his team rescued our stairs!!…read more When we purchased our townhouse earlier this year, we had no idea what lurked below the carpet on the 125 year old steps (the treads were decaying and actually coming out of the wall) We did a ton of research before hiring Marty and his team, and it was clear they were the ones for the job on a historic property. Even before the project began, Marty provided an incredible amount of time and expertise that helped us get the project going, guiding us through everything from wood selection and preservation of historic value to safety protocols and the production timeline. While it took less than three weeks to replace the two main flights in the house, the end product demonstrated care and master craftsmanship, as ever single tread had to be created by hand by Marty's carpenters to follow the century-old curvature of our stairs (nothing factory produced). We came home to an almost spotless house (I couldn't find dust anywhere) and two staircases that are the most solid structures now within our home. I was very nervous and scared about doing it and had interviewed and got quotes from three other kitchen cabinet remodelers, including Mark. Mark's price was competitive with the others, but it was his patience and demeanor with me that I really appreciated--especially in the beginning of getting to know him and asking questions about his quote, how they work, how long it would take, the product they use, etc.--I had a lot of questions and Mark was so patient and very responsive. He even came out again with a sample because I was so nervous about the color and finish that I was trying to decide on. I chose Mark over the other guys I interviewed and I was so glad I did. They did an AMAZING job with our project! They always showed up on time, protected our floors and house while they were working--even though it was such a big job, we hardly had any interruption with our daily life--he and his team made sure the other rooms and areas around the kitchen were protected and his process and how they did it was seamless. It has been two years and eight months and look at my cabinets! Amazing--not one crack! No separation, no fading, no peeling--the cabinets still look factory finished and they look way better than the original finish when they were installed which was a custom glazed finish. I go to the door introduce myself and I said to him as I would any guest, family member, friend etc that come to my home... please take off your shoes and leave at the door. I do not let anyone in my home with there shoes on considering the germs, and things people step on. In any case, he immediately gets upset it seems and said no I will come back and I said well do you have shoe booties if you're umcomfortable with what I thought was a simple request. Again, he seems to get unset and walk away stating he will come back. He knew he wasn't coming back and I was so turned off by his reaction, unprofessionalism on the matter which led me to leave this. So if you are considering doing business with this company... don't ask him to take off his shoes before entering because he will walk out on you with no explanation what's so ever.
