My experience was very good with T&R Towing. They came out with the proper equipment and were ready to take my car on a flatbed if needed. Jumped my very dead battery and it started up. Both guys were very pleasant and answered any questions I had. Only reason for the 4 not 5 stars might not been the their fault. It took a bit of time to get here but I did go through AAA and I wasn't stranded, I was at home. Would use them again. read more

BEWARE!! SCAMMERS!! I am not a professional auto mechanic but have been working on my own vehicles for 30 years and troubleshoot modern aircraft as part of my profession so I have a basic knowledge of internal combustion and mechanics. Took my truck in for a new water pump. While it was in the shop T&R called and said I also needed a new alternator. Strange, but ok. I asked why did they think it was bad? Answer: "it's making a funny noise". I let them know that I test the alternator output voltage regularly and that it had been fine. Well, they ordered the alternator listed for the year, make, and model only to find that it was wrong and that the upgraded model on the truck was over $500. I told them to please put the old one back on, it's fine. They agreed. Immediately after that they called to say the starter went "bad"...while in their shop and I'd need a new one. They didn't know that that "bad" starter was barely two years old from new. The timing seemed suspect to say the least. This was retaliation for calling them out on the "bad" alternator. I didn't argue to much about the starter because I was out of town at the time and sensed my truck was already a hostage to T&R. When they told me the truck was ready from the water pump and starter work I went in to pick it up. A handful of loose hardware was scattered across the dashboard but I was so tired of the B.S. I just took the truck anyway. Once on the road I heard grinding noises from the engine compartment and on investigation found that the radiator fan shroud was just hastily sitting loose around the cooling fan with the fan hitting it. (That's what the loose hardware tossed in the cab was for come to find out.) Luckily I didn't have far to go. I finished reassembling the fan shroud myself only to find that half the bolts were missing. These are large Ford automotive bolts, you can't just get them at the local hardware store. I went back to T&R to get my hardware but they were clueless, they said bring the truck back in. Update: Nearly 6 months later that "bad" alternator is still perfectly fine, big surprise! Too bad for them that there was such dishonestly and incompetence on my first visit. I have been looking for a good place to have that truck and my three other vehicles regularly serviced. If you're someone without an understanding of how the systems on your car work and what does and does not need to be repaired I'd obviously be very very cautious about using T&R. read more

On AUGUST 4,2021, My husband had a motorcycle accident by Raymond street in Montour Falls ny.On August 5,2021 I went to T andR towing on Raymond street in Montour Falls to pay for the tow and pick up bike.I was told that the charge was 412.00!!!!!! After I picked myself up off the floor, I paid the fee., and my son in law drove bike out of shop. I was in shock by what happened to my husband.Airlifted to Sayre hospital.Intubated..btoken bones.deep lacerations..But., today, I thought to myself..Raymond Street? where is that in Montour Falls? I looked it up on map. and guess what? I think they probably towed motorcycle about 600 feet..I called this morning because I wanted to talk to someone about the obvious mistake in pricew..There was no mistake...412.00!!! Outrageous! Got a flat needed a jack & Tools to get the spare tire down. The driver showed up with a jack and attitude. Because he didn't have the right tools we asked him to cut the cable for our spare he answered us with, I don't have them tools. We were paying cash!! Then we called the dispatch they told us all they could do for us is tow to there garage till morning.. thank God we called a real garage that knows what they are doing. I wish I could give a zero star or negative star review. These people took hours to get to my broken down truck. They were so slow that I had to call a different company who came out, did the work, and left in 25 minutes. They left before T&R even showed up, and for a fraction of the cost of T&R. As I was on the phone cancelling T&R, the guy shows up. He acted very rude and unprofessional about the entire situation and they still charged me because they still came out. They said it was because I didn't cancel before he got there, but I was cancelling when he showed up. The fee alone for them not doing anything at all, was double what it cost for the other company to come out, fix my truck and everything. The people on the phone were very rude and unprofessional as well. Avoid this company at ALL costs. No reason for them to be AAA rated other than the fact that they bought that rating. Could not possibly be less satisfied with the way this slimy business operates and takes advantage of their customers. read more

My alternator failed while driving from New York City to Toronto, Canada. T&R charged me $309 to install a "new" alternator. The replacement was not new. They didn't even remove the "Rebuilt in the U.S.A." sticker. I overheard one of the mechanics say to another that "it should get them about 25 miles down the road". I stepped in to the room and asked for clarification. He said that I had misheard and that we would be fine. Sure enough, 20 miles further down the road, my car died again. This time, in addition to loss of electrical power, there was a major coolant leak. I got a tow to a AAA owned facility in Buffalo. According to AAA, the faulty alternator was fluctuating between over-volting and under-volting and has done serious damage to my electrical system. I'm now looking at $986 to get another replacement alternator and a new radiator. That's before looking at the electrical. NEVER GO TO T&R!!!! read more

they will charge you even though they failed to do the job. I made an arrangement with this company to pick up a car within specific time frame. They got there one hour late and the pick up location was closed already. this happened because they didn't get there on time as agreed but still charge me for the job. I complained and they said "they had an important order to go take care of" which is not my problem. they prioritized another order which came in after mine, and i was responsible to pay for the waste. Unfrotunately, 1 start is the lowest rating on yelp so they get 1 star. never use them, never. read more

Called for roadside servce for heavy duty truck. They changed the fuel filters which was not the problem. They drove 32 miles to Wellsboro, Pa for the filters. The charge was $1201.50 for 5 hours. I called them and told them that charge was unreasonable but it did not do any good. I would never use them again or recommend them. read more

stay away!!! my truck has been down for months. this company will damage your truck and/or car under their care and try not to pay for it. i got the run around receiving insurance from them after they damaged the roof on my truck by hitting a bridge. they had the truck tilted too high and hit a bump, but they are trying to say my roof magically flew up because it had duck tape on lights. i had to literally have my driver go up there to ny to get insurance in which the female receptionist referred to my driver and husband as "these people", racist piece of shit. also, it took over three weeks for them to fix a mechanical repair, a fuel filter housing. a bad, shady receptionist, supervisor and owner. i'm not even sure how these crooks sleep at night damaging equipment of small businesses. now i have to sue, save yourself the time and don't deal with them. see pictures below. this is an 8k repair! read more

I am from.Ohio. I never new in New York that seasonal roads existed, there are zero signs stating not to use them. My GPS took me to a "seasonal" road wich left me sliding.into a ditch. I callled T&R , one guy came with the correct tow truck w pullies etc. Didnt even attempt to get my car out and demanded I give him.$55 cash. I got.no.receipt, and he left. The next day a different gentleman came with the exact same tow truck with pullies etc and got.my car out in minutes with no issues, as I explained what happened the night before he was appalled that the man the night before took my money gave me no receipt and zero help . Said hes been doing.it for 6# years and never heard of that happening. As I called the Secretary named Courtney, she asked me to tell her what happend and insisited on talking.over me, saying that I threw the money at the man who took my $55 which is absolutely false. I will go to whatever length to get my money back off principle alone. I was stranded in the freezing cold with a young lady who was shaking uncontrollably from the cold, and all you could.to is say nothing I can do, you owe me $55.
