The nail's themselves were decent but the service was pretty rude. They seemed rushed and impatient, interrupting me every time I tried to speak and pushed me to pick a color quickly. Tapping my legs or pulling my hands strongly to change sides. Halfway through they were already pushing me to leave a yelp review. Not asking, but telling me to. While my nails were drying they came up to me 4 times checking and asking if I was already leaving a good review for them. The main lady asking this was Bonnie. When it was time to pay she asked me to Venmo her the tip. I said I would tip through the screen and she told me "next time bring cash to tip me" Definitely not a relaxing experience, they were rude, pushy, and impatient. read more

Walk-In was super easy at 11am on a Sunday. Two of us for manicures and only one of us had to wait about 10 minutes for the manicurist to be available. Everyone was very friendly, our manicurists were Hanna and Bonnie and would recommend both! Very peaceful atmosphere and everything looked very clean. Will definitely go back! read more

I went in and asked for dipped nails. They told me it would be $58 but charged $62 when I left. Two days later the first nail fell off, and during the next week 3 more fell off, so I had one hand with only one dipped nail. I went in to have them removed and they said it probably had something to do with my nail beds. So apparently 4 of my nail beds have something going on so the nails don't hold, but 6 of my nail beds are fine? As I had a holiday party the next day I said just take them off so my nails would match. And they charged me $15 to take them off. There are other nail salons in Alamo. I'll find a new place with better customer service. read more

The Service was very good! Kathy checked in with me throughout my appointment making sure I liked everything. She took her time and got my gel French manicure just right with the white thickness I liked. Reason I deducted a star was for the not great massage chairs and I found the music playing very annoying. Quality of work was great and staff was very nice! read more

I tried this place today, called almost as soon as they opened, she gave me an appointment for 12:30. She called me at 11:30 asking if I would do 1 o'clock instead I said no worries, 1 is fine. I got there at one sat down for 15 to 20 minutes before lisa the nail tech sat down in the chair. I originally said the pink and white full set acrylics were great, she didn't quite understand and kept asking if I wanted the ombré, so I said sure thinking maybe she was good at it. She tried to do the ombré, we picked the pink she was going to use, and she did a "trial nail" it the pink blended in the white too much so she pulled out the "clear" pink, which I assume is what is used for French tips, she added it on top of the light pink and it looked great. We agreed it was the right way to color. She proceeded to make white sections with a harsh line and then put the "clear" pink over it leaving the white line being seen under it. I tried to explain to her that she needs to blend it better or do as the trial nail but due to language barrier she didn't get it. I presume her boss kathy came over after I asked multiple times to talk to someone who may understand a bit better. After talking to Kathy we both agree to just do as originally asked the white and pink acrylic for French tips. Because of what Lisa had done she had to soak off and file off the globs of white on my nails. My cuticles are trashed because of it, even after I asked her to clean them. There is acrylic all over my hands. There is a divot like a crater in my nail and even after showing Kathy it she was like no there's not, I told her you could feel it. i told them it looked like I did my own nails with all the acrylic over my fingers. I walked out I gave them like 12 bucks and said here you go. This is all I'm paying for this because it looks like I did them myself. The pictures are after I washed my hands 2 times then asking lisa to help fix my cuticles, which she put alcohol on them then cuticle oil and then sprays the alcohol on them again and rubs it all off with the towel that had been under my hands the whole time, then I washed them again!!! read more

I'm a busy fulltime working mom. When I have the rare opportunity to escape it all and pamper myself, I always look for two things: a relaxing atmosphere and a quality mani pedi. Atmosphere: It's got all the traditional ambiance you would expect from a nail salon: tuscan decor, massage chairs, variety of nail polish options. The lady who does the scheduling seems to get flustered easily and the last time I went, my experience with her prevented me from wanting to come back. They want you to select a polish from their basket of nail colors. I always go with OPI because I know it's a quality brand that will last. Both times I've asked for OPI, my request was met with a frustrated sigh (I assume because it's a higher priced brand and this cuts into their bottom line but I don't know that for certain). I went to pick my colors for my mani pedi from the OPI options. After just two minutes of looking, the lady who handles the scheduling came over and said in an aggressive way, "you need to hurry and pick your color." She started to paint my nails and I could tell she felt pressured for time- my mani was very rushed. She stopped partway through to tend to another customer- which was fine. The lady doing my pedi took over. Quality of mani pedi: The first time I went, my toe nail polish stayed on for almost a month, including the pretty flower decoration. I was thrilled! The second time, my nail polish chipped after one day. Overall, I haven't been able to fully relax both times given the hurried energy. The quality of the mani pedi varied widely from visit to visit. For these reasons, I wouldn't recommend this salon. read more

I was a long time customer and always tipped well. I had an appointment today but kept getting told it would be 15 mins until 45 mins passed. I then left and came back at the time I was asked to, and again was told 15 more mins. Kathy, the manager, had the gall to tell me that it was my fault and I had made the wrong appt (???). If I had received a genuine apology and give an honest timeframe, I would have understood since mistakes happen. Now, I will never forgive the way I was treated. I left without my nails done and will not be back. Off to a nice salon in danville for me! read more

My go to nail salon! I just recently relocated from San Francisco to Alamo. The transition from living in the big city, where we had a wide variety of alternatives, to living in this smaller town, where our choices are much more restricted, was difficult. My first experience at another manicure shop in this area was an unpleasant one. Not only was the place outdated and unclean, but my gel nails chipped after two days of being there! I am overjoyed that I was able to discover Magic nails. They are great, in addition to being clean, professional, and nice. Their luxurious massage chairs are certainly a positive factor.
