I must say I'm baffled by the negative reviews of this place. I've had such a wonderful experience here. Cindy is a rockstar nail tech and can tackle any design you give her. She absolutely killed my nails (in the best way possible) for my vacation. I got so many compliments on them!! And she is so quick--took her only about an hour for the gel tips + design. An AMAZING pedicure for only $25. Me and my mom came here after searching Yelp for a nearby salon while in Somerville. This place was the first that could get two people in for a pedicure within the hour. When we came in a bit early for our appointment and didn't even have to wait before we could get seated and get started. The pedicure was so nice I can't get over it. It did not feel like a basic pedicure at all. Toes look great, bottom of feet are nice and soft, what more can I ask for? They also spent a solid amount of time on the leg massage. The one thing I didn't love was the color selection. There weren't too many colors to choose from. Not the biggest deal because next time I can just bring one of my own. I was a walked in. Best way to catch the quality of a salon. I couldn't make it to my favorite salon. I moved and took a chance on a new place. Mind you, I did nails for 15years! I'm very particular who does my nails. Which I stated. There was a little exchange of I couldn't possibly know what im doing because things change. I still can do my own gel coating and polish! I go to the trade shows and stay very current! Nerve! Through trial and error, I realized this: I only like my person in Bloomfield. Out of total desperation, I took a chance. This is my review: Tammy, my nail tech did not listen to anything I said. She was sarcastic and basically told me the color I picked wasn't good. She insisted on putting what she felt looked better. Then, my skin grows very high under my nails. My nail beds are long. She tried to work against my natural curve and take it out with tons of gel. The gel burned, which rarely happens. Then she stuck her own sharp nails under mine as she did them. She killed me. Now with all this said, I'm not trying to go back. Maybe another tech is better. I don't like the color. I barely like the way they look. Not going back. I would've not left this crappy review, but this was not a competition. Instead of making me feel welcome, I couldn't relax because she tortured me. I have been coming to this salon since 2014 and had never had an issue until yesterday. I usually get gel polish but this time did not as I do not like to get them done that way every single time since they make my nails weak. I asked for a regular manicure in which I needed to have gels removed and it maybe meant to Tammy (the nail artist) not to put as much effort into it, at least that's what it felt like. The filing, buffing, and cutting nails seemed very hasty, and nothing was done about cuticles. She had me pay during the service, and after it was done and got in my car I noticed a few messes, some of which did not feel like a big deal but one on the end of my ring finger and politely asked her to fix it. If I could give 0 stars I would. I went to get SNS dip powder. Have not been here before but have been doing it for over a year. My 1st instinct was they didnt know what they were doing and I shouldve trusted my gut. I spent an hour and a half there and knew he was doing it wrong. They all came off when he started to file them. He cut my cuticle, it bleed, and he proceeded to dip my nail, blood and all, into the powder. I was mortified, how unsanitary and what else was dipped in these powders before me?! I told him to clean it up as best he could and I was leaving. He said someone else could do it quick...I was there for an hour and a half at that point! Someone got a fill in and pedicure and left before me. I got up and left... If you pay in cash 10 times, you get one manicure free. They only take tips in cash. The only reason I give this place four stars is because sometimes when I get in my car and look at my nails I notice a bubble or something but it's easily fixable and they always fix it for free. A lot of people have recommended me to them because they are known for their nail art but each time, mine has looked like trash. I have seen several different people so it's not just one person. unbelievably disappointed. i've never had a bad experience here until today. my nail tech was rude and not very gentle. i left with a rushed, sloppy french manicure. there was a drop of dried crust from the base coat bottle on my nail and when i wiped it off before putting it in the dryer, she yelled at me. after that, she began pushing my hands in a rough manner instead of asking me to put them in the dryer. she criticized my decision for wanting a thin white line across the top and was clearly annoyed when i asked her to touch up the one part that was uneven. i asked her to go to the edge of my nail with the white and she rolled her eyes and still didn't do it. she gave me some reason why she couldn't. i left extemely disappointed and will not be going back. i'll be going somewhere else to have this mistake fixed read more

It's diffcult for me to find a nail salon that can consistently impress me, but I have truly been satisfied everytime I visit T & T. So much so I travel the 35 minute drive to get my acrylics done. Absolutely horrible. I showed up with gel on my fingernails and instead of soaking it off the guy grinded it off with a Dremel tool. He never once soaked my nails in acetone like how they do at every other salon I've ever been to. My nails are really strong, right now my nails are now paperthin. I should've walked out then, but I decided to stick it out and stay because I was there. Big mistake. The guy use the Dremel tool to shape and file my nails which causes breakage, so my nails are a complete mess. The manicure itself was extremely rushed, only two coats of gel. When I made my appointment I asked the girl specifically to assign me to someone who does good at coffin nails because the only one girl Christie who was good at it was on vacation. The girl proceeded to say Okay and assigned me to another nail tech. I sit down she does my nails and it starts off good and ends badly. My nails aren't shaped like coffins and It looks and feels like she didn't evenly spread the acrylic across the nail. On top of that there were a couple little issues inbetween when It came to designing as well but i was more worried about the shape. I didn't have time to get them done over It was already 2 hours in. So i called back the same day and asked if they can fix the shape for me another day and that i was displeased. I got them done Friday they told me to come back Wednesday and the owner will redo them for you. I walk in and explained the situation and the phone call. They start asking eachother questions so to be less difficult i said i don't want a whole new set i just want the shape fixed and the guy said Okay. I don't think he was the owner since he had to ask others questions and on top of that he had an appointment at the same time they told me to come in. I thought he was going to bring the drill out to reshape the nail and mold it to how it's supposed to be and he says he can't do that (which I've seen many nail techs in person and on insta do but okay) and uses a nail filer. So as he's filling my nails he's telling me it's better to fix when they first apply and I told him i did and the nail tech ignored me and at one point i told her there was black stuff on my nail and she pulled my hand and painted over It. so he just files It down so he can hurry up and get to his appointment . But at the same time why do you have someone doing nails who cant apply the product right and file It to its correct shape. They should be aware of who does good nails and who does not. Also the lady who i Made the appointment with is the one who advised me to make an appointment with Christie so why would she assign me someone who is the complete opposite. I believe she just gave me to the next available nail tech instead of saying no one is available that is good. But He filed my nails in such a rush and they all just look uneven and not put together. I'm displeased with the fact i was told to come back and get my nails fixed but the complete opposite happened. I don't recommend going here unless it's for feet only or if you plan on going to Christie. I also noticed a lot of people in there like Tammy. If i go back it'll be one of those two Doing my nails. But..the white looks super weird and has little air bubbles. You know how normally the white line looks like a horseshoe and it's nice and rounded? A problem with my nails every time I go, and after the last incident i am not returning! I came showing a picture of ombre nails that fade from pink to pale yellow like a sunset. And i left with nails that looked like I had a disease like Jaundice. The tech rushed the entire time because she prioritized her next appointment. So i decided to call and make an appointment to go back the next day and have the color changed. But apparently having an appointment is only important if you're anyone but me. I arrived 5 mins early and they asked me to come back later because the tech was busy. I said no, i made an appointment and i don't have time to return. So they put me with a different tech who started working on my nails and casually informed me that they were charging me $20 for the paint. They insisted it was my fault that i didn't tell them on the phone that i needed all my nails fixed (no one asked me that) and therefore the original tech didn't have the time and id have to pay someone else. I said no I'm not paying for this, the first nail tech can give some of the money i paid yesterday to the girl fixing my nails. I was met with attitude and dirty looks and I am never returning again. When I asked why, especially because the girl who did my "nails" barley trimmed the cuticles(all she did was file my nails) - granted I asked for no polish, however...I feel as if $40 for no polish mani/pedi is a little expensive and when I asked the woman who did my nails why it was so expensive and close to the gel price she said "excuse me gel is $25 mani is a$20"...next time I will do it myself instead of paying $40 for someone to barley file my nails.
