I always get nervous when I try new salons for my mani/pedi. I am very particular in how I like my nails to look. I read a few reviews and everyone recommended Karen for mani and Helen for pedi. I made an appt and was not disappointed. They both did an amazing job and I was completely satisfied. Last week, I called for an appt and Karen recommended Nancy.....I was nervous again but decided to take the appointment. It was last minute and I was desperate. I am soooooo happy that I did go. Review is for the Nail Salon - Nancy does a great job on powder nails but unfortunately does not honor appointments. I had an appointment & showed up a few minutes early. She took someone else in my place & had me sit for 45 minutes to soak off my powder nails with cotton & foil. Anyone who does powder nails knows it does not take 45 minutes to soak off/remove. It's too bad - she was excellent but my time is valuable & I no longer go there. read more

I'm not from this area but my boyfriend lives a few miles away. On a lazy Monday while staying at his place I was desperately in need of a manicure. With a 4.5 star rating, I decided to give this a shot. I walked in without an appointment around 1:30pm and was able to get my regular manicure without an issue. The only reason I can't give this place 5 stars is because the man behind the reception desk literally ignored me when I walked in and stood at the desk waiting to be greeted, welcomed, directed...anything. Instead it was Helen, the woman who ended up doing my nails, who greeted and ushered me over to her. If I could rate Helen I'd give her 5 stars. She removed my old gel polish without issue and was very friendly. She asked me how I was doing today, and we talked about everything from the weather to where we lived to her upcoming vacation in a couple weeks. She was so personable and did a great job taking care of my nails. She went out of her way to make sure I liked the nail color I'd selected, asking me what I thought of it as she started applying it to the first nail. She wanted to be sure I was 100% happy with it before she proceeded to do the rest. When she was done, she asked me again if I liked it. Little things like that make a customer feel valued and cared for. Through casual conversation with Helen I also discovered that there was a recent change in management at The Nail Studio and the interior was remodeled about a year ago. No surprise there as the place is super clean, neat and fresh looking. In addition to manis/pedis they also do hair and waxing. My regular manicure was only $15 :) I tipped Helen $10 because she deserved it - and when I handed her the $10 bill she asked if I needed change. Sweetest woman ever. Would definitely come back here and specifically ask for her! read more

Came in for two mani pedis with my mom, we were pretty quickly taken in. The ladies were nice but we were definitely rushed through both services. My mom got a brief callous removal but I did not; during the manicures, neither of us were provided with a bowl to soak, just went straight into the manicures and were rushed through those. They were quick and did a messy job. Fortunately, they honored the price on their website for the mani/pedi of $28, though in store it says $35 (beware, if you're thinking that's the price you'll get, it's not) so that's why I'm giving 3 stars. Service wasn't great but I tipped anyway. But wouldn't recommend this salon, I could've painted my own nails the same. read more

I tried to call and make an appointment for manicure and pedicure but they asked me to come in. I was taken in quickly and then this lady kept pointing to a far away place where I was to sit, shoved two books into my hand (apparently they were for choosing colors) and spoke very loudly. Then she just asked me to soak my feet and disappeared. The jobs were rushed through this time. I have come for pedicure before and surely it has deteriorated. She washed the pedicure tools in the same tub while my feet were still soaked there. I do not want my skin scrubs coming back to my skin but by then I had given up. I was waiting for the shoddiness to get over. I am not happy with either the manicure and pedicure. I am not coming back here again. read more

Excellent service and great hours. Very difficult when many of the studios in the area close early but The Nail Studio is so convenient and accommodating. Helen did an excellent job, my gel manicure has been going strong for over 3 weeks and basically still looks brand new. Awesome selection of colors and great conversation with the staff and patrons while I was getting my manicure. Don't forget to bring cash for a tip! Helen was very gracious when I didn't have any (I came back the next day of course), great work deserves to be rewarded, especially at such a reasonable price of $25 for a manicure that has lasted so long. Nancy has been my nail stylist for about 15 years or more and I would recommend her to everyone. She is professional, sanitary, patient, pleasant and always open to clients' suggestions. She has come up with a couture approach to "one of a kind" nails. And it is amazing. No one ever has my print / designs or style of nails . She uses "every day material" to create the designs. Clean place. The staff there are very nice. A little on the pricy end for a mani/pedi ($75 for regular pedi and gel mani). It was definitely rushed (the color is still a little transparent and one of my cuticles bled a little). It's worth it if you only get your nails done a year, but there are other salons that have fuller coverage and are more careful that I would spend that amount for. read more

Pretty disappointed in this place. My friend and I came here for mani / pedi. You get the very basics and no frills. At $35 for mani / pedi, I expected better service. The lady who did my pedicure didn't really scrub my feet, trim my cuticles, or even provide any sort of feet massage. She did it in a hurry and there was no effort put in. I needed a fill on my gels STAT! My regular girl at another salon skipped out the night before and my appointment was cancelled. As nervous as I was about not having my "girl", I walked into The Nail Studio (located in side The Hair Studio, next to Payless) on a whim, and Karen sat me right at her station and went to work. She did a beautiful job and was incredibly meticulous in her work. She was warm and friendly as she worked. I feel horrible that I had to "cheat" on my regular girl, but it was worth it! Walked into this salon to get a wash & blow out for my birthday. Everyone was friendly. Lady who washed my hair told me she wpuld give me a better wash next time I come because stylist was in a hurry. There was no one in the salon. She rushed because she was leaving because place was slow. Tony blew my hair out he did a good job. I problay wont good back here again. Receptionist was eating a sub all out in the salon and seriously she could have went into their break room it was totally unprofessional eating like that in front of me, but whatever. I recently went to the Hair Studio for a manicure and pedicure. It was a TERRIBLE experience! To begin, the lady had many regular customers waiting while I was getting my nails done. As a result, she skipped many of the steps of a manicure. Unlike other salons she skipped soaking my hands in hot water and in a hot towel. Also her nail polish was messy and was bad quality - it began chipping the next day. When I asked her about whether she would soak my hands she EXPLODED WITH ANGER! She said I didn't know wat I was talking about, that I was a disrespectful kid who didn't have any manners! She said she was an expert and she knew wat she was doing. I was shocked at her response! I told her I would write a review on her attitude and she told me I was a terrible customer and not to come back - I can promise you I WONT!! I've only been here once and would not go back. My husband had always gone here when he worked in the area, so I decided to give them a shot. They are overpriced for what I wanted--a simple cut, trimming my wavy layers. I was very specific with the stylist (she was 50-ish, brunette, don't remember her name), yet she cut my hair barely shoulder-lenghth which is too short for my features. I told her to keep my length below my shoulders. It's Hair 101 that curly/wavy hair kinks up when it's dry! Paying more does not equate a better haircut. NOTHING WAS ACCOMPLISHED IN AN HOUR. I made an appointment @1:30 for a gel manicure. The initial woman I sat with, the owner, began filing down my nails, then abandoned me to work on her other appointments. The second woman I dealt with was giving me French nails instead of the ombré I requested. Since she messed up or had other appointments she turned me over to a third woman who was busy with another customer. I finally lost it when the third woman thought it an appropriate time to stop working on my nails to reply to a text message on her phone. Sitting next to me was a young lady hoping to get ombré acrylic nails for her school dance, but being so overbooked the manicurist was trying to talk her into getting French nails to save time. I walked out with jagged disgusting nails, AFTER AN HOUR of being tossed around like a hot potato. I would've much rather been told they were busy, instead of wasted my time. read more

The service was nice and the place was fairly clean, but my gel manicure started chipping within three days. It's been about eight days now and there isn't a single nail that hasn't chipped. I'm not sure if it is the quality of the nail polish used or the application, but I am very disappointed. I also got a pedicure which has held up OK, I had one nail chip today. Paid $50 total. Probably will not go back unless I was getting dip powder. read more
