More raccoons, possums. If you post up somewhere by a pond you're definitely going to see and hear lot of loud wild animal noises from frogs and you'll see some turtles there. I recommend bring your binoculars, the ones that can capture electronic pics. You're going to see different species of birds my favorite one are the red-headed vultures. There are a few swings, a small rock climbing boulder that wouldn't do much damage if a kid fell off, and a picnic area, where my friend and I sat in the shade while the kids played. There was a camp there also, and all the kids were sitting and listening to a police K9 demo. Not far away there's a water park/swimming pool. Kansas City Parks and Recreation, you are so on point! We ordered pizza from Waldo's and brought it here. There is a large pavilion with quite a few park benches to picnic with a group. The meal was lovely and the view was beautiful. There is a playground right behind the pavilion with some spectacular features. A large spiderweb-like climbing pyramid that the majority of the children flocked to. A zip-line and a see-saw, a few decent-sizes slides and a sand pit accompanied large climbing structure. I wish I had this playground in my backyard when I was a kid. Had I not been exhausted from traveling and super-full from my delicious Waldo's dinner, I would have joined the many children playing!
