I am planning to move to JC Tenn and emailed TC Lewis twice and received two generic responses. So I called and spoke to a young girl who speaks broken English and appeared to be reading from a manual on how to answer calls. What a nightmare, she probably threw my number in the trash and I will probably never hear from them which is okay if this is how they treat potential clients. I'm on the lookout for someone who will care to locate a nice rental in a good neighborhood for March 1st. read more

As a business owner who previously rented from TC Lewis, I am often asked by other business owners about my experience with them. I am always honest and then I tell them they should go and check their reviews to get others opinions as well. And then I realized it might be helpful if I left my review. I rented a business space that was "managed" by TC Lewis for 7 years. And I can honestly say, in all my years of living, I have never had to deal with anyone as unprofessional, incompetent, or dishonest as the owner of TC Lewis Company. From the very beginning it was one thing after another, either I couldn't get anything fixed or if it was attempted it wasn't fixed properly. When I went over his head, to the person who actually owned to building, to see if that would help, Cory Lewis lied, accused me of things I did not do, and threatened to evict me when I asked for proof of the things he was accusing me of. As the problems continued, nothing ever getting fixed and false accusations, I asked for another meeting with Cory Lewis, and the person who owned the building. Cory refused to attend the meeting. It was at that point that I knew if anything was ever going to be fixed I was on my own and I hired others to do the work for me (with the exception of major issues that I could not afford such as the floor falling in, the roof leaking, or the heat and air unit). I noticed in reading the other reviews that TC Lewis is quick with their defense of all of the bad reviews. That is exactly how he does business and it's what I experienced for 7 years, false accusations and excuses for their incompetence. In my seven years in that space I was never late with my rent and I took care of that building as if it were my own, to the extent I could afford to, and the only thing TC Lewis did was collect the rent, and bully me whenever I tried to push to get anything done. With all of the hardships that come with running a small business, dealing with this "management company" was by far THE most stressful part. I would love to say never sign a lease that has TC Lewis on it anywhere, but the sad thing is affordable housing is so hard to come by that many will not have the option to be selective. But if you are looking to open a business, or if you are a property owner who needs someone to actually manage your property and not just collect the rent, I would strongly recommend you avoid them at all cost. They are crappy. There is mold in my apartment. The floor sqeaks. There is a crake in the bathtub and it is leakingbover the sink. There is a holevover the stove that someone said s person would come fix it and nobody came. Our toilet and sink was outside in the front yard for 2-3 days. They don't care about anyone. Very bad experience I had, they just wanna take your Application fees!! Be aware! Took me a long time to figure out if my family got approved or not. Never pick up my calls. Had to PAY $32 each person for application fee! And they disapproved my family without telling a reason and told us they'll send the report but never did. Theres mold in every room of my apartment. In 1 of the bedrooms you feel like you could fall through. In the shower it sounds like it's cracking and there is a leak underneath the bathtub. Right over the shower. Theres a hole above the stove that they never came to fix and now theres mold growing out of it to. They left our toilet and sink out in the front yard and turned off just our water So we had to go to different apartment to use the bathroom. Our toilet and sink were out in the front yard for 2 days. We stopped paying rent because THEY NEVER CAME TO FIX ANYTHING. WE PUT IN A WORKORDER AND THEY JUST IGNORED IT. NOW THEY ARE KICKING US OUT. BUT JOKES ON THEM THEY HAVE TO FIX EVERYTHING. THEY HAVE TO FIX THE MOLD,CREAKING,THE CRACK,THE HOLES. read more

Awful experience, do not use this company. I rented there for two years, paid rent 6 months in advance, and gave 6 months notice prior to leaving. They tried to take my entire deposit (telling me they are taking 1200 and 0 back to me, my lawyer had to point out my lease showed a deposit of 1400) Oh and when they ended up writing me a check as part of the settlement, they wrote "FOR BEING A CRYBABY" in the memo line of the check! read more

I have never dealt with a more rude, inconsiderate group of office personnel. I warn you to watch out for "Kayla". If she doesn't care to hear what you have to say (even if you are extremely pleasant) she will literally hang up on you. All maintenance issues / requirements must pass through Kayla. I've left messages on the voicemail, followed up 2-3 days later, only to learn she hasn't listened to the messages yet. And she will try to make you the bad guy. I've learned there is no way to circumvent Kayla - after repeated attempts to resolve a bug problem. She guaranteed an exterminator would come out. Upon follow up I was told by Kayla they have no way of knowing "when" the exterminator was there. When asked if he/she could leave a note I was told "No - we don't work like that". They finally sent an exterminator out on a Saturday and when he arrived we were told he could not exterminate until he had approval from the adjoining tenants and the property owner. So he left. I tried to follow up with Kayla, only to have her rudely say "I don't know what you are talking about, just tell me what the problem is" That was it for me. I am a professional and very patient person. Kayla has left me speechless with her lack of professionalism. Good luck to anyone who has to deal with this management group. read more

I attempted to lease a property managed by TC Lewis. The ad for the property came from their website. The ad is still up at the time of this review. Wednesday morning, I sent an email and called, but got voicemail. The email went unanswered. Over the next couple days, I called repeatedly, once left a VM, and sent two additional emails, this time using forms on their website rather than emailing directly. Finally on Monday, I drove to their office and spoke to them. The property had rented that morning. When I let them know that I had been trying to reach them for nearly a week, they changed their mind and said it was rented last week but the lease wasn't signed until that morning (I have cash and could have signed at any time). So, it seems that either TC Lewis had it rented before I contacted them and couldn't be bothered to tell me to stop wasting my time, or didn't respond to my repeated correspondence for some reason, causing me to miss out on the property. read more

I wish I could give a negative star because this company doesn't even deserve one.. I lived in an apartment complex TC Lewis managed, actually cute apartments. My daughter and I lived there for a few months and our neighbor up and left one day and didn't return. The next thing I know there is a random lady sitting on the porch one evening eating a bologna sandwich. I asked her if she was the new neighbor because I hadn't seen any moving trucks and she replied, "no, just visiting". I thought that was odd so I contacted TC Lewis to see what was going on and could not get ANYONE to contact me back. I was an end unit and the tenant on the other side of her I suddenly see is moving out. All very odd to me so I went and spoke to the couple and they tell me bed bugs have somehow made it to her apartment! I have a one year old at the time and immediately start to panic! Long story short this was a homeless lady going in and out next door and had brought bed bugs into the complex. TC Lewis said they tried to "call me" to let me know which was complete BULL SH*T! I had to pack up our things in a day and get the hell out of there, making it extremely difficult in the middle of a work week to find a new place to live! They tried to hold my security deposit until I contacted a lawyer and threatened a law suite. Absolute WORST experience I have ever had renting a place to live. I will NEVER have anything to do with this company again. read more

I have only been here with TC Lewis company for a week and it has been nothing but horrific. The company has employees who have no clue what they are doing and constantly fail at doing their job and contacting you. If you have to speak to cooperate, that will not help because cooperate was very rude and not helping and did not ever seem to care about the problems happening in their apartments. The company could not give me my correct address to start up my water and heat and therefore they could not figure it out and had no water and heat for the week. Two people have to pay $30 for application but only receives one key and this company will threaten court if asked for another key. I ran my shower and had water everywhere in my kitchen, in the laundry room and had to go all weekend without water so the leaking can stop because there was no emergency contact and neither cooperate nor employees can answer phones during the weekend. I strongly urge everyone to never work with TC Lewis company and I strongly believe you will be grateful you did not choose to work with TC Lewis company as these people have no clue what they are doing nor do they care. Absolutely unprofessional and do not trust because they are false advertising and the apartments cost more than what it says on the website. read more
