Went here on the recommendation of our tour guide, as a kid friendly place. It was the least kid friendly place we went on our tour of Belgium. No baby chair, and for our 530p reservation we were tucked upstairs by ourselves, away from service and any other humans. Update: Restaurant contacted me for refund but their system is not equipped to handle reversal of transactions. They ask for an EU bank account, but I'm not bloody European, and that is unconventional. Restaurants usually reverse transactions through the credit card they have charged. I would NOT recommend anyone to eat here especially tourists. Stay away from this restaurant. Food is just ok, ambience is nice but not worth it especially if your credit card gets charged twice despite their terminal showing the purchase was declined. zero after sales customer service. Arguably, one of the better pubs in Brugge is right off the market, tucked back in a side court yard. They have some nice cafe seating, but for me, it is all about comfy alcove near the fireplace. This is the perfect location to avail yourself of the free wifi and catch up with friends back home. The staff is friendly and helpful, which was another reason I returned for dinner after my afternoon stop. My waitress Charlotte suggested the Gehaktballetjes, a meatball dish stuffed with melted cheese and all I can say is a big Belgium yum to that one. My grandfather's nasty-ass wife used to say, "The Egg Market is where the young people go." I had a bitterballen enthusiast in town, and this was the only place I could find that advertised them. They were good - as good as they are anywhere, since they all come from the same producer in the Netherlands. I got a Brugse Zot on draft. Pretty good beer list, the prices aren't too bad, and any place on the Eiermarkt, while not great, is definitely a step up from the Grote Markt. read more

Had a perfectly lovely lunch here on the sidewalk out front. Plenary of options on this little street, and Rembrandt seems to be the most respected. Great food, tourist friendly. read more

Our only disappointment in Bruges. I am in shock that this place has such a good rating. It is an over priced tourist trap. I paid 18.50 for a small portion of meatballs and a pile of flavorless potatoes in a dingy bar. Weird and gross, but the waitress recommended it. We should have known better but we were freezing and asleep on our feet. My husband got a "croque monsieur" that had a single slice of ham and cheese on a toasted piece of shitty (belgian equivalent of) wonderbread. Service was also unfriendly. Wow. Fine for a beer, I guess. I bet the bitterballen is ok. They have a fireplace. read more

Very good place to stop in for a casual dinner. We sat inside the pub and really enjoyed our food. The service was friendly and helpful. I had a delicious bowl of soup, fresh bread and a yummy, generous salad. Prices are very reasonable, comparable to a nice pub dinner in London. If the weather warrants, there is plenty of outdoor seating. We enjoyed the inside ambience ourselves. Just steps from the Belfort Markt. read more

We stopped in on a whim for some lunch and to warm up. It's just off the main square but somewhat sheltered from the main foot traffic. The atmosphere is very comfortable. We sat by the fire and my wife couldn't have been happier. The beer list is very good with lots of Trappists and many other options. The food is good too. We had a pizza with ham and cheese croquettes. We really enjoyed both. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. I'd definitely go back. read more

Located in a little square off the main square, the Rembrandt is best when the weather is nice and warm so that you can sit outside int he square and enjoy a beer or even some food. I only drank there, so cannot comment on the food. The beer is pretty limited for a pub/cafe in Belgium, with only ten different beers. They do have a full bar too, so yo9u can pretty much drink anything that you want. Inside is nice and there is a fire going, which is a gas fire but still nice. Upstairs is only for eating but didn't get up there. read more

't Hof van Rembrandt is a great bar just off the Groote Markt. Good range of beers with friendly waitress service. Serves food, which we didn't try, but what we saw was appetising. Free Wi-Fi, useful with the cost of roaming charges. Comfortable seating with a varied age range of clientele. Looking forward to going back. read more

6:30pm 30/10/2019 hostess refused to sit group of 7. It was not busy. It was a weekday. There was no line or crowd, with tables readily available inside and out. Closing time was noted as 24:00 (12am) We didn't see a reason why we could not be accommodated especially without a proper explanation from the hostess. She simply said "That is not possible" as she looked at us up and down with a curled lip. I'm not sure which part of us she didn't like. Our large coats that we were wearing since it was 39 degrees outside? Because we were foreigners that spoke to her in English? Because we have darker skin. I'm not trying to make this into a race thing but it's the real world and this actually happens. We'd love for this "hostess" to actually "host" and be welcoming instead of judging guests before they walk in. As the manager or owner of this restaurant, I'd be appalled and flabbergasted that one of my employees turned away a large party and cost the restaurant money that night. Who knows how often this happens? Sounds like she is more of a liability than an asset. If you're thinking of going there to eat, don't waste your time. Kindly walk 15 additional steps to La Taverne Brugeoise. They're kind. Quick service. Great food. And not apparently racist. read more

Great place for a beer and a snack. Good location, off the Markt. Service was good and helpful - even gave us some dinner advice. Free wifi.

Great little spot just a little off the market. Still a busy area but we got a table for 7 just fine. If its raining or a little cold try to get a seat up stairs by the window, have a beer and just look out into the street for people watching. I enjoyed my time here. read more
