Had some time to kill on a Saturday while my dog was at the vet. Initially stopped in at a salon across the street , but they were packed. Saw TJ's in the next shopping center. Was a walk in and was seated and attended to right away. I'd never been before and didn't have a tech preference. Two male techs worked on me at the same time (a younger tech did my pedicure and an older tech sat next to me in the chair and did my hands at the same time.) I guess I could have explained my preference that they be done separately (I don't enjoy having to focus on my reach and holding still across my body. Also, feels like you miss out on the relaxing hand/forearm massage when the tech is working on you while you're in the pedicure chair.) The pedicure tech and I struggled a bit to communicate, but he did a great job. In fact, as I write this review, the color is still vibrant (although my toenails have grown out and are badly in need of a refresh!) The manicure (powder dip) was done haphazardly. It was very thick (thicker in some spots than others) and it was raised up from the sides of my nail beds. Did not look natural at all. I was headed out of town for a work trip, but soaked it all off when I returned four days later. Couldn't stand the appearance. If I could give a lower score than a one star o would! I've been getting my nails done for over 20 years and never had an experience like I experienced here! while getting my nails done I shared (older Vietnamese man) with my tech that I didn't care for the shape he had done for my nails and asked if he would please reshape them. Apparently when I asked him to reshape them he got incredibly angry. He grabbed my hand and began shaping with one of those heavy duty files. He actually cut my skin around my nail! It truly hurt instantly! I jerked my hand back and told him to stop! When I looked at his face he had a half smile knowing he had intentionally cut me. I was in the process of getting a pedicure as well. I stopped all services and let Bella (she's the main person on site) know what had happened. She softly said I'm sorry I'll fix your nails. I didn't feel anyone was concerned that this man had just cut me on purpose! I paid for both services that I didn't receive what I paid for! And immediately left! my husband and I were going there weekly for two pedicures and a dip set every week not a cheap trip! We took our business across the street (ask for David he's the owner and will take care of you) and haven't been back! I try to tell everyone I know not to go to TJs because of the deranged man that is passive aggressive! Trust me!!! Customer service and leg massage is all I have good to say. Just tried Tjs for the first time and will not be back. First, I made an appt but didn't matter since I had to wait 10 mins to be seen anyway. Then after 5 mins, my male nail tech stopped me and helped a walk in who said she got a pedicure yesterday and the nail polish washed off in the shower. He came back to me for most of my pedicure and went back to her to finish up with her. I asked if he could only use the skin scraper a little bit because I knew I'd be walking a lot during my trip to New York tomorrow but he kept going on both feet, which then made my heels sore. The leg massage was great and I got the mango pedicure which smelled and felt amazing. However when it got to my nail polish, he cut my big toe nail very short and it's now red at the edge and sore in the corner. This is the first time I've ever felt this at any nail salon. My other big toe is also red. When I was transferred to the hand station for my nails, they said 5 minute wait, which again I had an appointment and that didn't matter. Then, actually waited 15 minutes. The customer service was great, very funny nail tech, with beverage offering including water and wine. Love that! But in the middle of the day before a day of shopping and packing, the wine wasn't on my to do list. Hoping I'd love this place I said maybe next time! Unfortunately the nail tech filed my actual finger until it bled, instead of my nail. Then I noticed that you could see the line under the polish showing the color difference in my nail and my tip nail. It is unusual the coffin shape curves out at the base and then straightens toward the tip. Every other time I've had just a straight edge at the edge of my finger. I also noticed an unusual brown color under my thumb nail. Not ever had this before. I wish I liked them because they're so close to my house. The overall atmosphere is relaxing but often has walk ins where each time they ask what everyone wants out loud. It's just a messy job. Not cheap either. My bill for a full set (with a few tips taken off) and pedicure was 95. I tipped 5 each anyway totaling 105. I heard a lot of people like this place but unfortunately my first time wasn't great. I hv been here a few times and always found the salon services ok. Usually I get a dip and pedicure. Yesterday I revisited it and on a Monday it was super slow. I thought I'd pamper myself with a "mango" Pedicure for $35. Mango lotion, scrub and soak instead of a regular pedicure. Back story complete - they did a good manicure but nothing like the listed "mango" details. Included hot rocks and salt scrub that almost took my skin off. Massage w lotion (not mango) minimal. Toes were polished and each coat put under a dryer. Time to go. Bill given me was $95!!! $40 for dip, $35 for pedicure and $25 for gel. I expressed my dissatisfaction but it went on deaf ears. I asked what was with the gel and the hot rocks. Yada yada yada they just smiled at me and continued their nonsense. I reluctantly paid the $95 but will do my best to dissuade anyone from getting their nails done there. I'll also note the towels were all old and torn. Not for $95! They got the last laugh all the way to the bank!!! read more

the only positive thing i got out of going was them getting me in quick. then it all went down hill from there. the man who did my nails looked so annoyed when i showed him my inspo pic. then proceeded to tell me they didn't have some of the colors but he had similar ones. i only got white on my toes because how can they mess up a classic white pedicure? left hard paint on my cuticles, and bubbles in the polish on my toes. my nails ended up being nothing of what i asked for. and when i asked him to dip them in the powder for more color and to be more defined he said no. overall worst experience at a nail salon and im never going back. read more

Just moved here from Sugar land, Tx. I saw all the high marks so I decided to see if this would be my go to place. No! the person who did my nails did a bad job. Dipped powder was what I requested. She left my nails chunky, lumpy. I pointed out a few bad areas, but Im not one to argue with some who doesn't want to hear the customer is not satisfied. I paid even left a small tip. Why because it was well understood she really was clueless the job was not good. I paid $50 and was very dissatisfied. I tried again that same day and drove to Expert nails. They took one look and said I am so sorry you had to go through that. This was a winner. I had a wedding to attend and needed my nails done asap. I found my go to place at expert nails. After seeing before and after I knew it was not me being picky. I stand by my review. I requested powder dip. Square in shape. I am speaking on my experience. From my years of having my nails done I have had great experiences and some bad. This was a bad experience. In the same day I saw the difference after Expert nails did an awesome job. Stopped in to clean up the little hooves and selected a basic manicure with the 'signature pedi spa' pedicure. TJ's is definitely no frills but it was clean. Color selection was not great. Lots of dark colors but it's summer and I was looking for something in the melon range. I managed to find one that would do. This was surprising because they tout using OPI products. Usually salons highlight and offer the newest color collections to choose from but I didn't see any displays. I guess with my pedicure I received some sort of extra massage. The technician set a kitchen timer that ticked and tocked until...ding! It was super annoying. Manicure was not worth the money. At all. My nails are not filed evenly and I still have traces of polish on my nails from where I removed my previous color but they didn't clean it up. Very disappointed. My friend and I just came from Fort Worth because they usually do good and the girl told my friend she could do ombré and ended up not doing it. She HAD TO RE DO the whole nail after she told her "oh I can't do it" and do one solid color to make it easier for them. Don't know if the lady was just trying to hurry or feeling rushed but WORST experience here ever. Everyone else got offered drinks besides us, not to mention we were there for 2 hours. Don't plan on coming here anytime soon... lost a costumer unfortunately. It wouldn't have hurt if they could've told us from the start she wasn't able to do the nails she wanted. So, this place is older. Not as nice as some of the newer nail places in Weatherford. The one advantage to this place is that they give you a $10 discount if you get a mani and a pedi. TJ's is our go too!!! Mary and Bella do our nails too perfection!! The last few times though another employee has done my daughters nails. Unfortunately both my daughters left with cuts to their nail beds .The employee spoke on her phone the whole time today making the outgoing call while working on my daughter. She cut my other daughters cuticles 4 times which bled, because she was in a hurry to get to Town Talk to get produce. We will continue to go because we love Bella and Mary but we recommend that some policies be put in place for the customers sake. We won't allow the other employee to do our nails. read more

Wow. Really like this nail salon. Just moved to this part of town and was looking for a new place. After seeing all the Yelp reviews, I gave this place a try. MUCH cleaner than most. No layers of nail dust all over the place. The decor is sparse but the shop is clean, which counts for a lot with me. I kinda liked that the shop wasn't full of layers and layers of curtains and plastic fake plants you see in a lot of salons, which just act as dust collectors. All the ladies were very nice. There was one TV on low volume and there was no music playing. I have mixed feeling about the music.....some places play blaring country or Xmas songs and that gets kinda old. I'd rather just bring my earbuds. Got a eucalyptus/peppermint pedicure and I appreciated that the products actually smelled like the actual herbals and not some cheap Walgreens wanna be fake eucalyptus flavor. The warm neck wrap was very nice. I pretty much closed my eyes and had a peaceful retreat from everyday bullshit for about an hour. The pedicure paint job was well done. I also appreciated that my lady kept adding hot water to my tub so I was never sitting my feet in a tub of luke warm water, most places don't think about that. They help you find the color you need and will get them out of the display if you want those. They don't cheat you of money they give you the sheet of prices and what it includes. The basic pedi which is $25 comes with the basic trimming and filing then they scrub your feet, put a scrub on legs, lotion on legs. If you have a callus on your foot the remove it or if you don't you get hot towels. Then foot/ leg massage and coloring. Very nice, friendly people. They engaged in conversation with us and other customers there. Not just the awkward silence it usually is. They offer you free drinks, which really are free. They do their job very well. Then they clean the foot buckets while you're sitting there afterwards so you know they get cleaned. Good people, give it a try! I'm always a skeptic about nail places because high prices and never last long enough but I'm counting on this on. Will update on how long the pedi lasts! Might have to come back soon to get another one. read more
