If you're in Ocean City NJ and need help from a wireless store I suggest you go off of the island…read moreor at least to the Verizon store on the boardwalk. This store on Asbury ave is without a doubt the most inconvenient Verizon store I have ever been to. The peopole working there have 0% tech experience (which is why there was a line every time I've had to go in there) and dont know much about the products and services they do offer. I went into the store to get a prepaid sim card and what shouldve taken 5 minutes to put in the new card and pay the new balance of 45 bucks plus 10 for the card and activation took hours. As I write this review, my phone is STILL not activated. Allow me to explain... I was in the store at 3 o clock. at about 4:30-5:00 I was finally leaving with my new pre paid plan all ready to go. All though the phones service wasnt activated right away, she explained the it could take up to an hour to actually come back on and start working since Verizon needs to activate it. After an hr and a half I brought the phone back explaining the service had not yet been connected so she did some looking on the computer and realized that the sim card she had put into my iPhone was not valid simcard. If I wouldnt have come back the phone wouldve NEVER turned on. (I thought it was fishy how she took the simcard out of the credit card sized case they're shipped in was not normally fastened into the cc sized case, it had been TAPED in. Yes, thats right, taped, as if somebody had taken it out at an earlier time when it was brand new, and then returned the simcard after having problems and instead of throwing it away, they taped it back in the case in which it was shipped i assuming it would work again, so instead of being treated like a valued customer, I was given a faulty sim card in the hopes that it woud work. When I got back to the store she realized that everything on the Verizon side of things was fine however the sim card was faulty. ( I wonder why? Since it wasnt a brand new sim card and had been taped to look as if it was thats why!) She then replaced it with a brandnew sim card and told me that my service should be restored within the next hour and that all that had to be done was update the new sim card information on her computer. I finally went home happy, or so I thought Another hour later (its now 7 o'clock as im typing this review my phone has still not yet been activated. Im about to walk back over to the store for a THIRD time in one day. Again, i'll reiterate, this whole process should taken 5-10 minutes. It has now taken 4 hours...d After waiting as much time that my day could offer (and then some) I had become frustrated. I withheld my discouragement inside and took pity upon the customers who were behind me. With all of this in mind, after today, I will not be returning to this store besides to pay for my montly bill. Im keeping my fingers crossed thta when i go back she'll finally be able to help me get my service on, especially after waiting this long and already have paid. Point being, the employees at this store have absolutely NO idea what theyre doing!!!! The last two times I went there she had to call customer service and have them walk her through the process. Incompetence at its greatest. EDIT: Phone is on 5 hours after I originally paid.

The staff at this store are fantastic. They answered all my silly questions (as a new iphone user)…read moreand never once made me feel inadequate. I will upgrade all my phones in this store from now on. They couldn't have been more friendly or helpful!

Also had a stellar experience with Adam, the Xfinity tech who came out to my place to correct some issues. I left one star off because there was a bit of a wait --on a Thursday morning! I was going to head up to the Mays Landing store, where I have done all of mu comcast business in the past, but my wife told me there was a new site in Somers Point, and they were open until 8PM. I went to the new store and was greeted immediately by Alex and Brian. Alex chose to take care of my business, and we proceeded to purchase a new Samsung 24 FE. Alex was very courteous and helpful and we went through the process. My credit card was charged for the initial amount and he was in the process of transferring info from my Note 9, which I thought would be better than nothing. While this was going on, the manager, Gary, sat back at his desk engrossed in something other than any business in front of him. Then, he got up, while we were in the middle for the transfer and started discussing the sale with Alex. Suddenly, now Gary is pointing out that Alex did something all wrong, and in low tone, chewing Alex out in front of me. Then, he told Alex he would have to redo the sale because Alex was supposedly trying to use a promotion that did not fit the sale. He was not kind, and I felt had no business having that type of discussion in front of a customer. As things proceeded, Alex went back to Gary's desk, they had long discussions during which I heard that he had to redo the sale by cancelling the one he had just done, and that phone would have to be sent back to corp. I also heard Gary say to Alex, that I was going to lose my phone number on top of not getting a phone, and made it a point to Alex that this was ALL on HIM. Meanwhile, Gary went into the back and came out an announced that there no more 24 FE's in stock. So, I am hearing all this and expecting Alex or Gary to do something to salvage the sale. I asked Gary if he could put me in another phone for the same price $27 / month, or even up to $30 / month, thinking that's what I would do in this situation. Then to my dismay, Gary said he could not do that, he did not even make a counter-offer! I responded questioning why he could not discount another phone, and Gary again stated that he couldn't do that, since the prices are set at "corp". Astonished, I said, "I am surprised that you can lie like that right to my face, when I can point out at least 5 examples of the price being altered as part of another deal." Alex did offer to order the phone, I would have it in a few days, but I declined. Frustrated, I turned around, told Alex I didn't feel it was his fault, and left. Then, remembering Gary said I might lose my number which I have had for more that 20 years, I went back into the store and asked if I was going to lose my number, and Gary said no. That was two hours of my life that I wasn't getting back and was a complete waste of time (CWOT). Totally disappointed and astonished at the poor people handling and customer service, I went home. Then I decided to go the Mays Landing site. When I arrived at that store, I noted it was 6 pm, and they close at 7 pm. The first person I ran into, I asked if they could get me into a new phone in under an hour, and that man said 'No problem" and directed my to Yani. She was very pleasant and courteous, I skipped any transfer since Yani explained to me I could do it myself via Google, and she was able to get through the sale and process in 35 minutes... (measuring from walking in the door to walking out). It was the opposite of Somers Point, and when I looked at the amount, it was the same pricing (24FE) as it was at Somers Point. I don't know what the "sale issue" was since nothing was different when it hit the credit card. I apologize for the length, but there is a bit more you should know. I have worked for McDonald's since 1970. My positions included starting the Training Department in the Philly region, being the first HR manager, an Area Supervisor in Philly, along with stores in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, a Franchise Business Consultant, and since 1984, the Director of Operations for Traa Family McDonalds in Atlantic and Cape May counties. I retired as Director in 2017, but still work two days a week available for consultation, paying invoices, and establishing the monthly P&L's for the company along with some IT administration. Simply stated I have responded to thousands of customer complaints, many of which required follow-up training to managers who handled situations poorly. That being said, I feel strongly that your manager, Gary, is clueless on customer service, clueless on how to handle employees, particularly in front of a customer, and is a liability to your business. Unless he is some family member of the owner, he should find other employment. Final Score: Somers Point Xfinity ZERO, Mays Landing Xfinity 100, with special re
