Consistency is a standout quality at T-Swirl. Their rice crepes are consistently thin and crispy, yet strong enough to hold toppings and dressings in place until the last bits. Fresh toppings such as veggies are always fresh and juicy, and the crepe brulee has definitely become or go-to dessert crepe here. I also ordered the romantic lychee crepe but I was too full to eat it in the restaurant. We were lucky that the wintery weather made it a slow day in-terms of in-person traffic so there were plenty of places to sit, but I imagine that it is probably very crowded when it is warm outside. If you order crepes and boba teas or their other specialty teas it can be very pricey. 4 crepes and three drinks + tip was about $70. We may forgo the drinks next time. This is not a complaint. This was such a disappointment. I had a strawberry nutella crepe. The crepe was cold and did not taste freshly made. It was chewy and the only part that was remotely soft was the bottom, probably from all the filling sitting in it. They tasted as good as any crepes that I've had, if not better. They're served in paper cones, so you can eat the crepes without touching them with your hands, which is a great Covid precaution. I picked the Thai chicken crepe ( #21) and my husband had the shrimp avocado (#24). We thought they were great. It might be difficult to spot the restaurant from New Loudon Road, but plenty of customers beat a path to T-Swirl on a Saturday afternoon. There's plenty of parking behind the strip mall. As for decor, it's no frills but clean. The place looks like a fast food restaurant, but it's not really fast food. I like the Boba teas, too. As I could see from the reviews, T-Swirl draws a youthful crowd. Most of the customers were about 35 and under. A lot of customers were college age women, which may have to do with Siena College being close-by. What impressed me the most about the customers is how much the palates of the Capital Region have changed over the years. So that shaved ice cream spot is closed at the Galleria and was in the mood for something sweet and Matcha was on my mind. After yelping I came across a similar tea crepe place that's been popping up all over Queens and made its way up here m, so i convince my hub to go and give it a try. I have to admit that when this place was suggested I checked the menu and said... not my type food. I went anyway to celebrate a good friends birthday. After checking the menu a bunch of times I settled in in the chicken teriyaki crepe. It's a different way to eat, no silverware needed. The cone shaped crepe is filled with the ingredients listed and was very flavorful. The way it works is you order your desired crepes, pay for them and get a buzzer. When the buzzer goes off your food is ready, just go to the counter and pick it up. I will say that it's not for everyone, but the food is good tasting. Give it a try, check the menu first online and get an idea of what you would like. If for some reason you don't want onions (me), they will not add them to your crepe. They are served in this neat table ready stand for you to put it down should you want a break. Like I said, give it a shot someday when those taste buds are looking for something different. It just seemed fun! She wanted one with green tea, mocha, sweet red bean paste, etc. but I wasn't really into that. I saw one with apples, caramel sauce, and granola and knew I wanted that. Mine could be ordered in the regular or mini size (about a $1.50, or 20%, difference in price) but hers only came in regular. As it turns out, a mini was just fine for 1 though a regular size could be handled solo as well if you were hungry. Watching them make it was interesting. Having seen French chefs make crepes in pans, using a griddle was a new concept for me. But if worked. Decorating them and filling them was an art form and while I thought they would surely fall apart... they didn't. Interestingly, next to the counter they had directions written in an Asian language that wasn't Japanese (my wife thought perhaps Korean). I saw no English language cheat sheets.
