Consistency is a standout quality at T-Swirl. Their rice crepes are consistently thin and crispy, yet strong enough to hold toppings and dressings in place until the last bits. Fresh toppings such as veggies are always fresh and juicy, and the crepe brulee has definitely become or go-to dessert crepe here. I also ordered the romantic lychee crepe but I was too full to eat it in the restaurant. We were lucky that the wintery weather made it a slow day in-terms of in-person traffic so there were plenty of places to sit, but I imagine that it is probably very crowded when it is warm outside. If you order crepes and boba teas or their other specialty teas it can be very pricey. 4 crepes and three drinks + tip was about $70. We may forgo the drinks next time. This is not a complaint. This was such a disappointment. I had a strawberry nutella crepe. The crepe was cold and did not taste freshly made. It was chewy and the only part that was remotely soft was the bottom, probably from all the filling sitting in it. My brother-in-law got the spicy crab crepe which wasn't too spicy but did taste like a giant California roll. In my second excursion, I got the same crepe as before, but the larger size, and the delicious peach tea. My sister, again, got the angus beef (we're very adventurous in my family) and my brother-in-law had the chicken teriyaki crepe. I wasn't crazy about the sauce, but he loved it. It might be difficult to spot the restaurant from New Loudon Road, but plenty of customers beat a path to T-Swirl on a Saturday afternoon. There's plenty of parking behind the strip mall. As for decor, it's no frills but clean. The place looks like a fast food restaurant, but it's not really fast food. I like the Boba teas, too. As I could see from the reviews, T-Swirl draws a youthful crowd. Most of the customers were about 35 and under. A lot of customers were college age women, which may have to do with Siena College being close-by. What impressed me the most about the customers is how much the palates of the Capital Region have changed over the years. A new eatery has arrived in Latham NY. You can find this small shop located in the strip next to what was Hoffman's Playground. There is a parking lot to accommodate cars for all the businesses located here. This new choice of food is quite pleasing to look at AND eat! It has a small seating area in addition to take out. We tried the savory crepes instead of the sweet since it was dinner time. That being said, we will return for the dessert soon. (The dessert includes a scoop of ice cream with fresh fruit stuffed in a crepe.) and did I mention how beautiful these crepes are? My choice was the Thai Chicken which included chicken, spinach, carrots, red onion, crunchy shallots, sesame seed, and a lightly spiced sesame dressing. I seem to think there may have been another vegetable stuffed in my crepe, but it was very tasty. The special part of this crepe is that the wrapper is light with a bit of crunch to it. It was an exceptional sandwich. (SO noshed on the Angus Short Ribs which included iceberg lettuce, carrots, red onions, red peppers, crunchy shallots, string beans, sesame seeds, chipotle aioli and finally a tofu sauce.) I have to admit that when this place was suggested I checked the menu and said... not my type food. I went anyway to celebrate a good friends birthday. After checking the menu a bunch of times I settled in in the chicken teriyaki crepe. It's a different way to eat, no silverware needed. The cone shaped crepe is filled with the ingredients listed and was very flavorful. The way it works is you order your desired crepes, pay for them and get a buzzer. When the buzzer goes off your food is ready, just go to the counter and pick it up. I will say that it's not for everyone, but the food is good tasting. Give it a try, check the menu first online and get an idea of what you would like. If for some reason you don't want onions (me), they will not add them to your crepe. They are served in this neat table ready stand for you to put it down should you want a break. Like I said, give it a shot someday when those taste buds are looking for something different.
