It had three levels and if needed the staff would allow family members to ascend/ descend the other levels if needed to keep with the social distancing. We were the only ones at the time with another group joining as we were leaving. Dundee is rich is history and many artifacts and gems are present here. I especially liked the school display area and the general store area. My favorite was the archives where me and my son looked at newspapers and yearbook dating back many years. White gloves are provided for very delicate documents and books. Henry Ford was influential in the machinery and design here also. She absolutely loves it. Not only does she get to learn from skilled directors and staff, but she has developed friends outside of her normal circle at school. I like that they not only offer opportunities to perform classics like Grease, but they are challenged with other plays that are less known and they have to develop their characters from the script and not from something they've seen already on the stage or screen. CTW also offers opportunities to learn other aspects of the theater such as building sets, sound and lighting, improv, and even writing their own scripts.

And after a couple classes, he auditioned for the Players company play and was cast in 2 small roles. Every child enrolled in the classes, gets a part in the play. Maybe there is more competition in the older classes? I have no idea, but at this level every kid gets a part. The child can ask for a small, medium or large part. So there is still some "competition" if your child wants the starring role but no one is left out. Then they start rehearsals which are 3x a week in addition to the class. So make sure you and your child are committed before signing up. But in a short period of time (I think all told it was 2.5mos), they put on a complete 45 min play, with costumes and sets. My son was so proud to have family and friends come see his play. What makes CTW so wonderful is the staff. They work so hard to help the kids succeed. I especially admired the patience and positive attitudes they have with all the kids. My son starts the next session of CTW on Saturday and he couldn't be more excited!

Why the 3 stars you ask? The seats are absolutely horrific. Its a metal bench seat with a bar across your shoulder blades. Even worse the bar is reclined. So you're in this weird position with absolutely no back support while your butt goes numb. You are not allowed to bring in a bleacher seat and if you could it wouldn't fit in the tiny numbered space alloted per person. It would be better to remove the seats and have people sit on the ground kind of Red Rocks style.

The area around the field has really grown so much it's gorgeous! There is so much to offer before and after the games too. We got great seats next to the dug out which was prime viewing for all the action. Although we didn't get any baseballs :(. I do wish their other screen was up and running as the only one on I had to keep looking over to look at. Their Fourth of July fireworks show on the 3rd was epic! I would like to say though to bring earplugs, the acoustics made them so LOUD.

I'd seen the visiting team -- the Saint Paul Saints -- but it was back in their Northern League Days when Mike Veeck owned the team. Either way, this was outstanding baseball in a wonderful environment. As I've mentioned in other ballpark reviews, I'm a former broadcaster who has seen hundreds of baseball games at all levels across the country. Though I've been to plenty of MLB games (dating back to the days of Arlington Stadium, Veterans Stadium, Shea Stadium and the former Yankees Stadium), I'm still partial to minor league baseball. Sure, I enjoyed seeing the likes of Juan Gonzalez smashing balls into the parking lot and Curt Schilling striking out 16 Yankees (that was in 1997, and I loved it with all my heart), but seeing players who are trying to make it to the show -- or trying to make it back, such as so many players on the Mud Hens -- brings me greater joy. Seeing a game in Toledo was a bucket list thing for me, if only because of Jamie Farr's character on MASH. With such a nice little stadium and wonderful baseball to boot, I wish I'd come sooner. A couple of caveats though. First, I've paid less for parking at a Coldplay concert. Further, at least those lots took cards. (These guys only take cash, but I'm sure the parking lot owners report their earnings to the IRS -- NOT!) Secondly, the hot dogs at this park are saltier than the Black Sea. Thank God I took a double dose of Amlodipine! But seriously, I'd come back here in a second.
