My son…read morestarted when he was 5 here and Master Washington helped turn around some pretty bad behavior traits. He started listening more and was way more respectful after having things reinforced at the school. Beyond just the behavior bonuses the training is top notch in TaeKwonDo, with my son winning both State and National Championships in 2013 in sparring and placing 3rd in both tournaments in forms. This year (2014) he took 2nd in Sparring at State, and 3rd in forms, with Nationals coming up in July. Another aspect is that he has made so many friends, that go beyond just the school. He regularly goes to his TKD friends houses for playdates, probably more so then the kids from his school. It is a no contract school which means you can pay month to month without being locked in. I think this is super important as a parent because why get locked into a contract if your kids do not like it after a month or so? Everything is very family oriented and Master Washington makes a personal connection with the kids in class, following up with how they are doing in school and other parts of their lives. Master Washington has a first class free policy so the kids can give it a try so you have nothing to lose for coming in and giving it a try!

Team United offers taekwondo classes, sparring, and tumbling for taekwondo. The "pro team" is incredible and my daughter looks forward to being a part of it one day if she continues to work hard to achieve her black belt. Mason my 10 year old has been with Master Yu at Yong-in Aurora for 2 years now. My son has more or less moderate functioning autism. He struggles tremendously with friends and peers and thrives on structure and goals. He is an amazing kid however we felt like he lacked a sense of extracurricular socializing. We live in a bubble those of you I'm sure can relate and ever since the day he met Master Yu his eyes had been forever glowing with learning Taekwondo. He has accomplished becoming a red belt as of today and I kid you not Master Yu has a gift to form this bond and trust with my son that makes me as a parent Soooo happy. Mason has idolized Master Yu so much that if I feel I have any concerns at home or at school he is able to relay that to him during his sessions. Let's face it our kids don't always listen to mom and dad but the discipline and structure he is able to grasp from his Master is mesmerizing. They pass every students on belt testing even w/o knowing the forms and kicks. You can walk by and get your FREE Black belt even w/o any skills. You paid for it!
