I did not know that Wendover existed but about 45 minutes out I had gotten a low tire pressure warning on my car, which is very scary when you're in the middle of a literally nowhere. My plan was just to pump up the tire and hope for the best. On the way to the gas station I was passing this place and I thought oh I'll have them pump my tire up for me. Thank God they were open because I had a nail in my tire which they patched super quick for me charged me only $20 for the patch. I was so thankful I gave Stephen who was working $40 to split as a tip between the four guys that were working. I'm so thankful that they were open and they existed and it was really close to the time they closed and they were just phenomenal . I could've had a very bad experience and these guys completely change my weekend around made sure that I was gonna be able to go on my adventure and amazing service. They worked on my tire right away.

On a recent mineral collecting expedition, we experienced trouble with the anti-theft system on a Ford Expedition. The system turned on and the truck wouldn't start. After some time, we managed to get it started and drive to West Wendover. We took the truck to Brad's, but could not simulate the problem. We told him where we were headed-- a remote hilltop 80 miles away on the Utah border. He promised to look for us if we did not check back in. I had food poisoning that day from one of the local casinos. And as luck would have it, we were stranded on the mountain. High up a reasonably steep and rough dirt road. Night fell, no Brad. We contacted Ford by standing on the ridge in a lightning storm, demanding to know how to start the car. My German friend kept insisting that this anti-theft system on an off road vehicle could kill someone. Well it's funny how messages change when they pass hands. The Ford employee called the local Sheriff and told him that someone was going into diabetic shock on the mountain. Around midnight, we watched a truck with flashing lights drive up the mountain. The Sheriff was a nice man, offered me gatorade for my ailing stomach, and called off the ambulace. Minutes later, Brad appeared. He'd been searching for us for hours. Unable to start the truck, he came back the next morning with a tow truck. No way the truck could get up the mountain, so Brad drove it down in neutral with very limited brakes. It was quite a sight. I'll do some crazy things, but no way I'd pilot that truck down the mountain without fully functioning brakes. He charged us a negligible fee for all the time, effort, and risk he took to help us, and we were towed to the nearest Ford dealership as Ford will not allow small shops to work on the electronics for the theft systems. It was really a funny night, stressed out germans, food poisoning, a lightning storm, and emergency vehicles chasing false reports in one of the most remote areas a person can find in the U.S. We were contacted by a reporter from Salt Lake the next morning. This shop has earned my respect when I'm in this corner of nowhere.

We got in touch with SFT through Enterprise (bc we have a rental car) and JEFF CAME TO THE RESCUE. He drove around at the salt flats for over an hour trying to find us- he sent pins of his location, called us, assured us he would be out all night trying to find us. At the end of the day, we actually got our tire replaced ourselves while waiting for him but his kindness, reassurance, professionalism, and speediness to get to us is commendable. Francisco not only tried to help me figure out what was wrong with the truck, he also called my driver and walked him through how to manually pull up the codes from the dash to attempt to diagnose the problem at no charge. We exchanged several phone calls and he went to great lengths to assist us and was very helpful and knowledgeable, even after he knew that we were not going to be needing his services in West Wendover and decided to have the truck towed back to Sparks, NV. It was obvious to me that Francisco was not only extremely knowledgeable as a Diesel mechanic but also a very caring and thorough individual.
