If I could give no stars I would but I'm forced to eeek out 1 . Our home is being built. It won't be ready until 10/2026. We have been using this truck stop to save us the inconvenience of showering in our 5th wheel . That is until 8/09/2026 approx. 9:17am . I had gone in to refresh my face get ready for work. The power was turned off to our property due to some electrical work being done . When I arrived , the female bathrooms were being cleaned. I said I was getting ready for work and how long would it take? The very nice gentleman cleaning the bathroom said " you can use shower 9, here I'll let you in" I put my backpack and a hoodie and plugged in my straightener , I had forgot one item from my car so I left the shower room to go get it. I noticed two men outside smoking and one of them I recognized as the man who was cleaning the bathrooms ( really nice guy btw) I ran to my car and was gone maybe 8 seconds total. When I came back to shower 9 some woman who was employed there began verbally harassing me asking me who let me in , I explained the guy outside smoking did , she was holding all my things and had taken them to the hallway , all within 8 seconds, she angrily took my things and basically threw them into shower 9 and with amazing hostility exclaimed " THIS ISN'T WHAT THEY ARE USED FOR" I was in absolute shock. I don't know if she wasn't feeling well that day , maybe her weight had her grumpy with the summer heat , who knows, I asked the other employee what that persons name was and " Maddie" ( chubby mean woman) hollered her name from the bathroom all proud of herself like being a rude, nasty, human making minimum wage made her special enough to practice terrible people and customer service skills . I walked outside and seen the two men smoking still and told the one guy from earlier , whom had given me permission to, what had happened , turns out the other guy was his boss AND Maddie's boss. I hope she got written up, embarrassed and generally looks like the low income bare minimum wage employee she expresses herself to be. She did not disappoint. I think this TA could do a lot better. Showers were always cold and for $18 I could have and already did opened a membership at planet fitness. When our home is finished and we move in I'm not going to let this experience impact my life but what I can guarantee is that I will NEVER frequent this truck stop with its vile nasty mean spirited employee called " Maddie" again. read more

We went to get gas at the Shell station which is a part of the TA Travel Center, using the self-serve pumps. The price for premium was far above the price for regular, but cheaper than the nearby competitor. When I finished pumping, I pressed the receipt button, but no receipt was printed. A noticed appeared directing me to ask the attendant for a receipt. He was sitting by the full service pumps, waiting for full service business, but no-one was getting gas at the time. He told me that he was unable to print a receipt, that I had to go inside. I went inside, and the cashier was nowhere to be found. After a minute or so, she appeared, and pleasantly asked what I needed, then printed the receipt. All-in-all, the experience was a hassle - we'll get gas elsewhere the next time we're passing through. read more

When ever we travel south to California, I know that exit 278 is the first rest stop of our trip. The TA Travel Center (aka truck stop when I was growing up) is a convenient place to pause and take a break from driving. Filling up the tank is usually the main reason we stop but taking a potty break (because of the Dutch Bros coffee we drank in Beaverton) is another reason. The bathrooms are clean and well-stocked and I've never had to wait for a stall. The air freshener, however, is REALLY overdone!!! P U We are always greeted with a smile when we enter the store and the aisles of goodies, as well as necessities, are tempting. I mean, beef jerky is mandatory on a road trip, right? (and bagged salted nuts and M & Ms too). Of course, we have to look at the T-shirt section for something tie-dye for my husband. The items available for travelers is staggering. Things I never even thought of for the many truckers who come through everyday: a 5 pack of Q-Tips or cotton balls, a foldable, disposable toothbrush with the toothpaste included. You know, little things like that. I always get a kick out of when they announce that the shower is now available for so & so and realize that this is real life for those who's job is being on the road. I'm glad it's a clean, friendly stop for them. The location is easy to get to and well-marked from off of I-5 but traffic can get dicey when the big rigs are coming and going at certain hours, especially early morning. The gas pump attendants are quick and try to get everyone in and out in a timely manner. Gas prices fluctuate but are usually better at TA than many of the other big brand names. You know who they are. We always look for TA Travel Centers when road tripping. A great place to stretch your legs, have a pit stop, and get a snack or cold drink. read more

The parking lot manager of the Shell gas station and the Popeyes restaurant Russ not only vandalized my vehicle but disable it and refused to undo the damage that he had done.I pull over at the shell gas station off of I- 5 to close my eyes for a few before I continue my drive. I wake up and there's a big sticker on my windshield saying that I could be told for parking too long in the spot. I go in the store, asking them to remove the sticker and Russ.Who is the parking lot manager refuses to remove it. He says he gets paid to put the sticker on there but not to remove it. He says he will go. In and get me a razor blade so I can remove it goes into the store.And it makes me wait and wait and wait for his return. He had an attitude that I would even ask for them to clean up the vandalism. They did to my car. I was not asked to leave.Nor was I warned that parking there was against the rules. And here I sit vehicle disabled because have a big sticker that is in my line of vision. read more

And someone inside told me that Corporate said to the workers you are on your own for reopening the restaurant I said we should do it ourselves and make the TA Truck stop back to it's original glory days of being a great Truck stop to come too !!!! If you're low on gas traveling between Portland and Salem and can hold off until you reach exit 278, do yourself a favor and wait. You'll be pleasantly surprised filling up for at least .39 - .70 cents cheaper than others in the area. I noticed driving by after gas went up recently, their sign was at $3.05. I wish I'd stopped when I had the chance. The cheapest its been near my house is $3.09, with cash payment. Theirs is the same cash or credit. There's a lot of semi traffic in the area, so you can expect some congestion, but its worth the wait in my opinion. Especially having paid $3.69 a gallon last week because I waited until I had to find gas. I can't comment on the store, as I didn't leave my car, but the attendant was super nice and efficient! read more

this place has more problems than any truck stop or gas station I've ever stopped at. Most of the time the pumps don't work, their signs on them saying out of order or they won't let you pay at the pump you have to go in and stand in the line with all the people as they only ever have one person working. If that person has to go open and display case you can forget it, you're either standing outside, waiting for him to turn the pump on or you're standing in line, waiting to pay one of the two. Attached to the truck stop OF AMERICA is Popeyes chicken. Three ladies in there working they never come to the counter and ask you if you need help, they're in the back, coughing away on the food and not even covering their mouth. Another location where you stand in line and there's nobody being served. I have no idea what they're doing in the back, although you can clearly see them from the counter. I went in and placed an order for two sandwiches with two french fries and two drinks. 20 minutes later I'm still standing there and finally asked the lady if I can please have my french fries which I can clearly see have been sitting there all this time and she looks blankly at me. since I placed my order and stood there, nobody else has come in to purchase anything. I've been living in this area for four years now, and there is always some type of a problem here. By the way, please empty your trash outside by the pumps, please put windshield washer fluid in them and please make sure there's actually a squeegee in where the windshield washer fluid goes not just a stick. got stuck there for two hours, car overheated needed coolant had a dog with me. It was very very hot out. Staff was extremely friendly. Let me know what kind of coolant I needed and how to put it in without getting exploded on they let my dog drink for free and they also were extremely helpful and pleasant despite some of the unpleasant out there and inside. read more

I've only been to a few TA locations, and this one seems pretty average. One of the nice things is that this has a Shell station - perfect if you're using Freddy's points to get your gas discount. (Pro Tip: get a Shell gift card at Freddy's or your favorite Kroger affiliate in order to save more on gas with the points you earn for buying a gift card.) The location really sucks traffic wise though. They need to put in a traffic light because the I-5 mainline gets really jammed up with the extra traffic. Silver covered with water spots, the buffet looked greasy, the gravy had a skin on it. What we ordered from the menu, The food was under cooked on some, but then overcooked in other Items of the meal. And really salty and greasy. Like they got it off of the buffet line. The one thing that bothered me most i would have to say would be the cook this morning, not wearing a beard net while he cooked. But the waitress was pleasant oh and the sourdough toast was good. Not sure if we would go back, you spend 30 Dollars on a meal, "thats with tip." The cashier had her mask down while helping costumers. She did eventually put it back on. Also, she let two costumers come in WITHOUT a mask. It was a man and a women. She helped them with whatever they needed at the cashier. We're in a pandemic. This is a great place to stop either leaving or going through Portland. Very nice convenience store with all the normal trimmings, but also very nice if you have a long trailer that you are pulling behind you as this is also a dedicated truck stop as well. A full restaurant with your typical American fare is available for you as well. Just the sheer location and the intersections with the on and off ramp sometimes will make it a little difficult to get in and out of, but other than that, this place is a great stop along the way. read more

It gets ridiculous when the worker who cleans the ladies restroom purposely locks from the outside one stall. She does this ALL THE TIME. i used that stall yesterday it was fine, stop "saving" an employee stall and clean(actually clean the toilets please!) the bathrooms frequently. i unlocked it for the world to enjoy. . .And let's just say the smallest small smallllll chance(because i was here after you cleaned this secret locked stall, so this is a REALLY SMALL chance) then friggn unlock it. it's easy you can do it with a fingernail when you're in there! It's NOT out of order for christ sake! we left because we waited over 5 hrs last night for a simple oil change, then it was a 3plus wait this morning. owner ops here, and while we get a discount at the TA, we chose pay 100bucks more at Speedco (which is owned ny Love's). We were in and out in less then an hour with quality service. edit: got a call from the store manager who I had to cut short for being condescending and trying to say the stall was not working properly bc of a sliding whatever. Excellent truck stop! Great staff, great gas prices. They are even remodeling very soon. Its open 24 hours a day! They have Popeyes chick inside too! Also a restaurant inside that closed at 11pm. Come on check this truck stop out you will love it! Traffic getting in and out of here can be a big challenge depending on the time you arrive here. At night after 7 or 8pm a breeze in the morning during the week or weekdays in the early afternoon very bad traffic. I highly recommend this truck stop. read more

I spent $1,500. They took 6 hours to finish my truck, most of the time spent putting on 3 tires. What makes me angry is it took so long I had to buy parking. I feel that should have been comped. When I went in to ask for the parking, the guy didn't acknowledge that I was asking for free parking, but just told me to go to the office and pay for it. For him the idea of making me wait 6 hours, and me paying $1,500, meant nothing. read more

Don't bother stopping here unless you want a complimentary broken windshield with your gas fill up. That's what happened when we stopped here for a fill up and a new wiper blade. Gas station attendant tried to help us with a broken passenger side wiper blade and ended up cracking our windshield instead. Don't think he should be punished for trying to assist us, but when I let the manager know what happened he didn't seem to care and wouldn't return any of my phone calls. Oregon gas stations have to have their own insurance to cover the full service gas pumping they provide but after multiple unanswered calls and voicemails, I ran the claim through my own insurance. Total cost for a tank of gas was $179, or about $14.91 a gallon. Thanks for nothing, TA! read more

This only pertains to the parking lot. Out of all the TA's we stop at this one is the dirtiest I've seen. Beautiful setting with the trees all around you then look at the lot. Garbage bags every where, the cans are full with garbage hanging out, debris every where. Anything from pallets to pee bottles to bags of poop. Awful experience . I used to like coming here but never again the cashiers where so rude and unwelcoming to me and my family. I know not all the cashiers are like that but the young immature ones are. I let them know they where being rude and unprofessional and felt offended but they just wanted to to argue with me . I love stopping here for the mashed potatoes with sausage gravy. That's all I get. Just a side order of mashed potatoes on the way out for a hike in the Columbia River Gorge. I love how friendly all the waitresses are compared to the snotty young "severs" in Portland. These ladies are so sweet so I always leave a huge tip. Plus I like that it's call T&A. That's funny. Overall experience was eh.. Showers were dirty, trash was full. Had eaten at the Country Pride restaurant, had salad which was okay.. not much of a selection as much of it had depleted, ordered Chicken Parm.. not the best, chicken had been thrown on the plate aand dethawed in the microwave. Could tell by the "water" that was around it on the plate.. noodles were heated up in the microwave as well, could tell by the rubbery texture you'd get after throwing it in the microwave. Bread was soggy from the chicken "water". The marinara sauce was ... different... very bright red with whole tomato chunks in it.. not sure if was going for a homemade recipe.. but definitely a failure.. Sweet Tea was alright.. my waitress seemed unhappy and overwhelmed.. Parking and the store employee (young guy, had to deal with an unruly customer, but was very friendly.) was the only good thing about the visit. If I could give zero stars I would. We stopped by there as part of a trip but what began as quickly grabbing stuff ended with the cashier going crazy. We had our stuff and created a space because there was a man ahead of us that left a gallon of water and went to look at something. We didn't know when he would be back so we waited. Keisha didn't tell us it was all right but we did all her, she then said it was all right. She didn't want to get off her seat to get our stuff but requested we push it closer to her. Then she put her hands up defensively and rolling her eyes. I went to use the facilities and came out. "If I acted like that at my job my boss would throw me out," I said as I walked to the door. "If you're trying to whisper I can't hear you!" she screamed at me. I then said it loud enough. Two people were in line and I felt bad for them. "He approached me wrongly," she yelled, "how dare he!" "You're embarrassing yourself in front of customers," I said calmly. "I don't care!" "That's obvious." I heard her call me a name and I walked out. I work in retail myself but I am never argumentive or rude to customers. I don't act violent like she did. I'm frankly surprised that woman was hired for customer service when her expertise don't include customer service. read more

Went to have dinner, husband ordered a steak which was PURPLE and looked old and freezer burnt, didn't even look like meat.... I ordered a chicken breast and it was...mushy? I don't even have words to describe what it was, definitely not chicken. We ended up leaving without eating and grabbing food from the flying J. Reported to the health department. It's really not a bad place to stop if you happen to be on your way. Bathrooms were clean, the girls at the counter were friendly and made jokes/small talk. The guys at the pumps were a bit slow due to texting, but I got gas and didn't have to sanitize my entire body after using the restroom! read more

The men's bathroom is terrible. Not sure if they ever clean because it's nasty every time I stop in. I know for a fact the little exercise room has never been cleaned. Talked to the Manager and she doesn't seem like she cares. Have to say one of the dirtiest TA I've ever been in. My wife and I really appreciate dining experiences like we had today! We dine here at Country Pride, on occasion, and the food and service is always good, but Nicole, our waitress, added to our experience by the way she spoke (and joked) with us, was very attentive to our needs, and very simply, was a pleasure to have around. I know, that's what servers are supposed to do, but she DID, and deserves a pat on the back for making our day a little better! ...and the food? Compliments to the chef, perfect! read more
