This spot was recommended by our hotel and is a local favorite. We ended up going to their first location (Correos) by mistake as our reservation was for their second and newer location (San Vicente).
Luckily they aren't too far apart-5 minute walk. The newer location was smaller/cozy and although we didn't see it they had a second level.
We started with a Sangria which was one of the best we've had in Spain as well El Aguilar-local Lager. For starter, it was Tempura Eggplant-delicious and cooked perfectly. Our Valencia Salad (reminded me of Salad Nicoise) was a larger portion than anticipated and was very good although we asked for more dressing.
For main, it was the Iberian Cachopo. First time having this one and it was a hit. Like a cross between a Chicken Fried steak and Monte Cristo. Veal/Ham/Goat Cheese breaded and fried. Heavy and tasty and couldn't finish it-a must try. The Cuttlefish which had a squid like texture, although sweeter, was also enjoyed.
There were a couple of Gentleman with Guitars setting up. Unfortunately, we had to leave. Service was friendly and attentive.
Don't miss the Cachopo! read more
