As soon as I arrived, I was warmly greeted and given a locker to securely store my belongings, which I really appreciated. I was then promptly taken for a relaxing hair wash before being seated at my station to have my hair dried. Throughout the visit, the attention to detail stood out--there was a variety of complimentary drinks offered along with a small cookie, which was such a thoughtful and welcoming touch. Kyunghee took the time to listen to what I wanted. I asked for curtain bangs and long layers, and she absolutely delivered. The cut was exactly to my liking--soft, flattering, and very well balanced. After styling my hair, she came back to do a final trim and made sure to check in to see if I was completely satisfied, which made me feel really cared for as a client. She actually recommended a softer, wavier perm, but I kept insisting I wanted it curlier (lol). She listened to exactly what I wanted while still giving me honest professional advice, which I really appreciated. She also recommended getting a haircut beforehand, and I'm SO glad I listened. I have really thick hair with a lot of density, and she spent about 40 minutes cutting it. She didn't rush at all and was so meticulous. She removed just enough weight while keeping my length, added beautiful long layers, and gave my hair so much more movement and dimension. The perm came out exactly how I was hoping! Jennifer agreed to accommodate me and even stayed after hours to work on me. She assessed my hair and decided what to do (we ended up removing 50% of the extensions -- the previous salon had added too much hair so she could charge me for more hair, which was one of the reasons I ended up looking like I was wearing a wig). Jennifer cut the width of the extensions and replaced them at the most natural position for my head shape, and blended everything together seamlessly. Jennifer, you are amazing!!! Thank you so much. The first barber I asked for it butchered it, mostly because he'd never done a long cut in his life. Gianni took one look, diagnosed what was actually going on up there, and got me to a halfway cut. A couple months later, the cut grew in as he planned and he took me from 80 to 100%, right in time for my vow renewal. His profile calls him the brushback king and I couldn't agree more. Fair warning: he's meticulous, so plan on real time in the chair. You get what you pay for! Also book ahead. At least a month, in my experience. Gianni's popular and I've never once seen anyone get off the waitlist. The shop itself is worth the trip on its own. Great furniture, plants everywhere, and a back patio you can sit on if you're early or just want to hang. Vibes and the place is always clean. Their systems are top notch too. Plenty of notice before your appointment, everything organized, they offer you a drink when you sit down, and they use good products from the wash through the styling. The host is always so nice, everyone there is personable, and the music's great. One heads up: no parking lot. The salon is clean, bright, airy, comfortable, and has a laid-back vibe. The music is always great, the staff is extremely friendly, and there are refreshments available. The restrooms are clean and in great condition. I love the plants throughout the salon and the personal touches such as the neon "Be Excellent to Each Other" sign. My hairstylist, Dina, gives me the best cut and color of my life. Every time I leave I know that my hair looks the best it can, and my color is gorgeous. My color also consistently fades out in a way that looks intentional between coloring, and remains vibrant for many weeks. I've never been happier with my hair. I've also seen other stylists for blowouts between visits and every stylist has been great. Karla cut my niece's hair and was wonderful with her. You can book online, and you can text with the receptionist if you have to change your appointment which is great. The only downside is that there's no dedicated parking, which isn't their fault and I've never had a problem. Just be careful if you go on a street sweeping day.
