The appointment information relayed to me over text was sparse - i asked if i needed to provide the braiding hair, come wash and blown and a few other questions, which did not get answered. I also for a quote which i didn't receive. When i went in for my appointment the next day, i showed the stylist an updated picture of the style i wanted. (attached) i went from wanting 12-15 large knotless braids to wanting 18. i should also note i didn't want the braids as long as it is in the picture...i just wanted them to my waist which is the average length. Here's where things took a turn.. The stylist who was to do my hair, asked another woman what the price would be for the style. i was quoted $280 .. FOR 18 BRAIDS?! WAIST LENGTH?? i was baffled. (i have no problem paying any amount for my hairstyles, but it has to make sense.) when the other woman said the price, the stylist started giggling - as if even she knew the price was too high. I said no thanks, i'll just do it myself. and i politely told her to just give a quote next time. then i wouldn't have waisted my time (or theirs!) my entire day was thrown off. Paying almost $300 for 18 large knotless braids when i wash& blowed my hair AND provided the braiding hair is overpriced. My name is Anne Pham, and I wanted Teresa to fix a haircut that I recently had elsewhere. I was impressed by her Yelp page and the work she has showcased on here. She's talented. We texted. She told me she was disappointed I wasn't patient to wait to work with her. I agreed I was impatient. She said that didn't sound good. I told her it was just a fact. She said she'd call me to discuss ideas. She didn't call, but text me instead after a few days. I then replied a few days later as well...since I too was busy and thought she'd be patient since I was...Anyways, I asked her if she thought if she could fix my hair or if I should wait to grow it out and she responded and told me I was wasting her time and that she was moving on, and to pay a consultation fee if I was serious. I basically was asking her questions that would have been discussed during the call that I didn't receive. I was hurt by her comment because it felt uncalled for, unfair, and unexpected. I almost panicked, but then I quickly started looking for someone who could take me THAT DAY. Grace with TABLA was the 3rd braider I contacted. She quickly responded to my text, requesting pics of my hair and what I wanted done. We then chatted for a few, and the appt was set. We connected within the hour and she started on my hair. I bought some nice bundles and needed a serious professional to install them for me. It had been nearly 2 decades since I've stepped foot into a salon and was happy when social media did me another solid and led me to EBB. I made it on time to my 1:30pm appointment and was greeted by the lovely Kergie who calmed my first time jitters with a mimosa (and she kept on bringing them through the entire appointment - I lost count after 4). She got me shampooed and trimmed me up (a major necessity after years of not seeing a stylist) and went over my hair health needs as well as my vision for the style I was going for. After a few hours of braiding, installing, and styling, I was a brand new woman. I absolutely loved the results and there is no better feeling than looking great once you step out of a stylists chair. Totally incredible experience over at Extended Beauty bar.
