A fantastic and intimate experience and venue a bit outside central Madrid, Tablao features incredibly intense flamenco performers who are at the peak of their game, delivering passionate rhythmic performances that build in intensity in the course of an hour. For 20 euros, including a drink (the sangria is a generous portion), I consider this to be a steal and well worth visiting if you swing by Madrid.

I'm so glad a friend recommended this spot to me. The location is a little on the outskirts of the main area of tourists but it's still easy to get to by metro and an under 10 min walk. You can choose the dinner package which does give you preferred seating or you can get the 20 Euro ticket (what we got), which includes the show and a drink of choice. We chose sangrias, and they came in these giant goblets with cut up fruit. It was so delicious (and potent!) They also give a large bowl of really delicious olives that went so well with the drink. The show itself was passionate and a sight to see. Since the venue was intimate, your body felt the soulful singing and the beats of the dance. The male flamenco dancer was amazing as well! I would definitely come back again if given the chance!

Did a lot of research on Madrid's flamenco spots and no place had better reviews and now I see why. It's about a 10 minute walk from the 5 metro line but it's fun to see non-touristy places of Madrid. The restaurant is very intimate. Do the show + dinner. The food was delicious. First course they brought salad, a potato casserole-like dish, sausage, and jamon iberico. It was all delicious. Next they brought paella which was great. Dinner came with a drink - we all got sangria. Extra glasses were 4€. As for the dancing. It was SPECTACULAR. They did two 35-40 minute sets. I cannot believe the energy they put into each dance. It was awe-inspiring. The entire evening was so fun. There is no doubt if I return to Madrid I will return to La Quimera for flamenco. This is the place to go.

The best tablao flamenco show if you are ever in Madrid. My second time here after trying out other locations around Madrid. This one is by far my favorite. It is a cute small restaurant away from the tourist location. Very local and inexpensive. The quality of dancers are amazing and really leave their hearts on the stage. Much different from other tablao flamenco around town. The show comes with a drink and then you can add on. I took my 5 yr old daughter to the show and there was no issue. As long as the kids sit quietly during the show I don't see an issue bringing them along for the experience. Must try!!

Small, intimate setting. I think the place seats no more than maybe 30 or 40 people, so would recommend booking ahead. Yes, it's a bit away from the city center but it's well worth the trip. Those dancers were amazing and the setting felt more authentic. Definitely the highlight of my trip here in Madrid. We went to the 10pm show. The show is about an hour and a half long. Restaurant is about a 10 minute walk from venta station and relatively easy to find. Arrive early to get a good seat. Also the bullfighting arena is off the same station so might be something cool to check out before heading over to the restaurant.

Visiting Madrid with some friends last weekend and we decided to get tickets for a flamenco show. Found this place online and it was amazing! We even had a private flamenco lesson before the show started!

We went here because it was away from the tourist area, located in a more residential area. Small at with a live flamenco show, live singer and guitarist with multiple flamenco dancers. You can tell the dancers pour their souls into the show. For 15 euros you get a show and a drink. The show was 1.5 hrs long. The venue is small, therefore the vocals are strong all over. I recommend this show if you are looking for a more authentic venue.

The waiter lost the cash we paid with and asked for a second payment. Probably stole it. Also they only accept cash.

Another visit that was high on the list of things to do in Madrid…read more I bought passes that came with an English guide. I enjoyed having that, but you could easily come through on your own without a guide and be fine. Our guided tour was about 90 minutes, but you could also stay as long after as you desired. We ended up staying about another hour to catch some of the things the tour didn't stop at. Note that you cannot take photos inside. It also seems to get pretty busy early, so it might be a good idea to go fairly early or closer to closing. Would highly recommend the Prado.

I know the Prado is acclaimed as one of the world's best museums, and its global reputation rests…read moreon the depth of classic European paintings from the 12th to the 19th century. No argument about that, but unlike the Louvre, it doesn't offer the breadth of art one would expect from such a vaunted museum. The curators apparently have no interest in expanding their collection because it engenders unmanageable foot traffic. That also explains why photography is prohibited in the galleries. I ended up buying postcards to have a visual remembrance of my favorite masterpieces collected by centuries of Spanish royalty. Consequently, the Spanish masters are represented by familiar masterworks like Las Meninas (The Maids of Honor) by Diego Velázquez (Photo 4), as well as The Naked Maja and The Family of Carlos IV (Photo 7), both by Francisco de Goya. Other European masterworks are represented like the impressive Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch (Photo 6) and The Judgment of Paris by Peter Paul Rubens. Beyond this scope, there are intriguing artifacts to peruse like the Leoni Renaissance Sculptures (Photo 3). Truth be told, you need to add the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and the Museo Reina Sofía to get a more complete picture of Madrid's artful treasures. RELATED - Exploring Madrid?
