What an awesome experience! I went to see a flamenco show during my honeymoon, and I will never forget it. There is a restaurant connected in the front and a room with a small stage and seating (like a small comedy club setup) in the back. We ordered some meatballs and some ham. Both dishes were great, and I wish we had decided to order the full dinner, but we did not (next time!). The show was fantastic! We were lucky enough to reserve seating in advance, so we were in the front row. The guitarists, the dancers, the singers ... they were phenomenal. I loved the music. I loved both the male and female dancers. They really worked up a sweat, and if you sit in the front row, be prepared to get some sweat on you. Honestly, it's tough to describe in words just how cool this was. It is a must-see if you are in the area.

This review is only about the flamenco show. I really wanted to give its a 4 star and higher becuase the show is great, the dancers and musicians are a delight and are very professional. But 38 euro per person?! Wow want a crazy price... They told me a free drink is included then asked for and extra 6euro because they said i wanted a good one haha... The chairs are uber bad :/ its like a torture seat, and the selection of Tapas is lacking in the show.

I came without much expectation, but was blown away by the performance. It was lively and entertaining. There are two primary acts: Act 1: Male and Female Dance Act 2: Female and Male Solo dances There is a short intermission after the first act. The singing by the four male singers and one guitar player was amazing. The dancing was lively and very entertaining. Tickets are 38 euros and includes one alcoholic drink. I recommend the show if you're in Madrid.

OMG OMG!!! The best ever!!! Seriously... must watch!!! I booked dinner (meh!) but I did this to get seats closer to the stage.

The seating in this place was narrow, uncomfortable and arranged like a theater. The people who paid for the dinner got the front rows with better view. We got the first of the non-dinner tickets but our views was blocked by the people in front of us. I heard the same complaint from the people behind us that they were struggling to get a good look at the stage - and no one could see the dancers' feet. They need to put the stage a bit higher or have a more steep incline for the people seating in the back. The show was okay but we did not enjoy the atmosphere as much as the other places. btw... we passed the dining room and saw other people's dinner.... they did not look appetizing and we were glad that we did not eat there.

We reserve early to get a spot nearby the dance floor. Tip: Make a reservation. The Flamenco show is SUPERB! The younger Flamenco dancer (Jose) is athletic whereas the older dancer is more elegant. The lady flamenco dancer is super good. The sangrias is not good to be honest. The beer is ok. The personnel is friendly.

One of the best places in town to see a flamenco show. Casa Patas is a restaurant which has a number of salons for the performers. The main salon is the one on the floor where the restaurant is. This is where the flamenco show is hold. You may reserve the dinner and/or the show. The food and the drinks are all very delicious and definitely worth it. But the shoes are the reason people go to this place. To reach the flamenco salon you go though the restaurant which is decorated with the photos taken at various old shows. The same is true inside the salon. It has a traditional decoration, and the tabla (where the performers are) is a beautiful wooden board. Finally the show: the performers (dancers and singers) are changed every few days. They choose the most famous flamenco singers and dancers in the country so you won't be disappointed with the ones you happen to see the night when you go. The entrance fee includes a free drink as well. You can choose among wine, sangria, soft drinks, and a wide range of alcoholic beverages. Let's enjoy the show while sipping on your drink.

We had a fun evening out at Madrid's La Coquette Blues Bar…read more Got there at around 7:30 pm - doors open at 8, and a line forms outside the relatively small place, so that timing was perfect. Settled into the very cool cavern-like subterranean space with rough stone walls, vintage blues show posters and a terrific Chicago blues soundtrack. A waiter who spoke English took drink orders, and everybody got bowls of sunflower seeds in the shell. It got crowded, but not ridiculously so, because they limit admission, letting a few new people in when others leave. They feature a rotating roster of blues bands who each do a three-night run. Check out their web site (it's their Facebook page) for who's playing. As usual when I see a music listing somewhere, I looked the group up on YouTube, to check out what they actually sound like. The combo we caught - The Maria Avilas Quartet - came on at 9 pm. It was a good-time Chicago-style blues band with guitar, standup bass, drums and a female singer, and we stayed for most of the second set as well. The crowd was really upbeat and friendly, and the beer was cold. Later in the evening, the waiter offered selected people (lucky us!) free mini-shots. Bottom line: we really enjoyed the place, and highly recommend it for a fun evening out.

Good selection of beers and liquor... the bartender makes a very good Mojito (almost every table had one). Generous pours on all drinks. Decent beer selection. Seating is a little tight but it's not a big place. Looks like an old bomb shelter (cool look).

Its a jam session sort of feel and the band members swap out and all sorts of talents show up to participate. There were rappers, singers, dancers, instrumentalists. And my best friend that I was with got up there and tore the house down. Everyone loved her. It was amazing. There is such a welcoming spirit here. Another singer, Ginger, made sure we were introduced to people. Christina bought us drinks. People danced with me. I couldn't have had a better experience here. The decor is very urban, jazzy, blues-ie, and the crowd was so diverse. Definitely my kind of spot. Made our last night in Madrid a winner.

On the particular night I visited, Freshness was performing. It's a jam session, the group plays and sings as if it's improvised. The singer sings random things, random songs, sometimes make up the words, sometimes actual songs they wrote. Once he looked at his two guitarists and sang, "whaaaaaaaaat are you doing????" because they were totally lost. Freshness had a guitarist, bass, drummer, trumpet, keyboard. They play and accompany the singer, and they're very good!! A moment later, somebody from the audience asks, "Hey can I play the next song with you?" and swaps with the guitarist. Later someone swapped with the drummer. We had 2 other different singers as the main singer went to bar to take shots. The keyboard guy is cute, he got a solo and he's amazing. It's thanks to the singer (who's so lovely, I talked to him of course!!!), I find him really cute too and he's full of energy. It's thanks to him I want to take dance classes again! That is one highlight of Barco, but they have tons of other musicians play. Freshness plays every Wednesday. AND OH YES, you meet a LOT of locals here. But also a lot of tourists, because nobody really goes out Wednesday nights. (Back in Toronto, Wednesdays are study days) The bartenders are snobby. It's 5€ for a Mahou beer though. I for one had a lot of fun here, I got a cute guy's number (but we never chatted after hahaha), and the atmosphere is soooooo cool. I arrived at 11:45pm and nobody was there, I asked if there's a show? The show starts at 12:30am, intermission at 2, then starts again at 2:30am. Crazy huh? And these locals have work at 9 the next day! I LOVE THIS!!! You only live once! The bar got a LOT busier at around 1am. By busy, I really mean it! A lot of people!! Almost club-like! Ah, Malasaña you're so cool.
