Called for an appointment..left my insurance information and assumed I was covered...got the work done...great...but, not covered at all. This is my fault as I should not have assumed...but, as a professional organization I expected them to follow up and let me know my coverage was not adequate. Dr Taborda is a great dentist who is very genuine and develops an awesome patient relationship. He truly does go the extra mile. His front office staff and Dental Assistants are very kind and professional. They will take the time to answer all questions and explain any billing questions. Excellent experience !!! From the time I walked in til the time I walked out, everyone I encountered was , friendly, courteous, and very professional. Dr. Taborda was excellent !!! I had a large chipped tooth and no appointment. Called them at 0830 and was asked to come in at 1100. Came in at 11and was completely fixed up by 1215. A Thursday night I broke a part of my one molar and Friday I have to find a dentist to see if I can get in because I travel for work. I called Taborda Dentistry and was able to get into have to examine it and not only that they were able to give me a new filling for it. Everyone was so friendly from the reception desk to the Dental Hygienist to the Dentist and the process was quick and painless. All views expressed are based on my, and my boyfriend's, experience at this practice. I am writing a review as I selected this practice based on their reviews. Your mileage may vary so I absolutely recommend you research them and other providers. Regardless of which dentist you choose: never be afraid to advocate for your health, ask questions, get a second opinion, drive your health decisions, or change practices if you feel something is off or not a collaboration between patient and healthcare provider. The good: Wait time was 15 min or less. The office was clean with high-tech equipment. You will have a nice view out a window, a comfortable chair, and a TV. You'll be offered headphones and a blanket. Seemed posh; perhaps overly so. It's odd to see that level of equipment investment and warm fuzziness in general dentistry in most offices in the NY metro let alone Port Orange, Florida. I 'filed' this observation under a fortunate selection of dental practice until.... The bad: I joined the practice when they were an in network provider for some insurance plans. First thing they did upon new patient check in was to run my card to determine my eligibility levels and balance (not the norm). Finding a nice, fat plus plan, the practice suggested many procedures (panoramic xrays, sealants on all 4 sides of mouth, new crown). I pushed back on some of their suggestions (I had to be very firm), and approved xrays and sealants on one side. My NYC metro dentist of many years later deemed these services unnecessary based upon prior panoramic, re-inspection of the existing crown and the Taborda applied sealants. I paid for service as expected (no problem), they billed my insurance, my insurance paid more than the office anticipated and the practice kept the money. I requested a refund of the overpayment - crickets (until I advised we were leaving and why, now, A YEAR LATER, the check, is supposedly, in the mail.) Woah! As a retired director of one of the big 3 US health insurers, I can tell you every single one of these actions are BIG no-nos. At this writing, this practice is no longer an in network provider for any insurance provider so their claims are not subjected to the same scrutiny and oversight. **Be wary!** If my experience is the norm, one should expect more unnecessary procedures as a result of this reduced oversight. Other concerns I see are shared by other reviewers: - Practice is unable to provide routine cleanings for over a year (and counting) due to 'staffing issues' they say. Speculation: Dr. was more than a bit condescending to his staff, during my three visits,hygentist was very nervous around him, so that may be why they have such prolonged staffing issues. - Last minute cancellations by the office with no rescheduling or follow up of any kind. In the end both I, and my boyfriend, also a patient there, were left feeling that this practice will recommend unnecessary services to milk you for as much as they can, and, worse, will delay preventative services to create demand for more costly emergency services that arise as a result. If you push back on services deemed unnecessary by a 2nd provider, you can expect to get a hard time and 'ghosted.' I could speculate further, but I'll simply say that as that's not the care we are looking for, we traveled back to our old dentist, who is also an oral surgeon, until such time that we find a reputable, reliable local practice. Another, one star, review on Google reflects the fears and reservations I had and I'm so glad I trusted my gut and jumped ship. Shame as it was a convenient, clean office, that initially seemed on their game. For our experience, two stars is probably overly generous. Again, your mileage may vary. read more

I've visited this office a couple of times now, and even after years of dentistry and orthidontistry at dozens of offices, this is hands-down the most patient, compassionate, and gentle care I have ever received. Every single member of the staff I have dealt with has gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. The office is fastidiously clean and modern, and appropriate precautions have been taken during Covid to prevent unnecessary spread. Dr. Taborda has a wonderful chairside manner, and even though I don't have much anxiety when it comes to dentists, I still appreciated the way that he (and each of his staff!) explain exactly what they are going to do before it happens. It really sets your mind at ease during procedures. I recommend this office to all my friends and family, and I'm glad I found them! read more

Taborda is by far the most excellent, thorough, meticulous, gentle, perfectionist dentist I have EVER come across. I am 70 yrs old, have lived in NyC ,Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and now Ormond Beach. I am a resident of the State of Michigan and had a crown fall out this weekend. Based on reviews I had read, and after a conversation with my personal dentist in Michigan, I called Dr. Taborda's office and they set me up with an appointment to get the crown replaced which they did this morning. My experience could have been very discouraging but Dr. Taborda and his staff were friendly and kind and got me taken care of very efficiently. Thank you, Dr. Taborda and a special shout out to dental assistant Linzeh, who is very kind and friendly also. Hopefully I will not have to go through a problem dental experience again but if I was to have a difficulty I would highly recommend Dr. Taborda's office. read more

Dr. Taborda is the best dentist I have seen in all my 71 years. He and his staff are very professional and kind hearted. They explain every step of the process. He has invested in his business by adding all the up to date technology and equipment. I had broken a crown. He has the capability to make a new crown while I was waiting. I was very impressed.
