Hoefel Haus is as advertised, quaint, charming, beautifully detailed. I had no idea what to expect when we were booked there while performing at a local fundraiser. In honesty, I didn't end up staying, as i have family in the area. The rooms certainly look spacious and comfortable, but again, I can't speak to that. So let me get to what I absolutely CAN discuss, the most important word in the HOSPITALITY industry. My first interaction with Kurt and Peggy was a messy affair I personally created. By withdrawing from the booking, I made our party 2 instead of 3. However, one of the acts (we're stand-up comics) had a guest. In under 30 seconds, Kurt accommodated us without a hiccup or a sniffle. My plan was to meet the guys in the morning, and treat them all to breakfast. Kurt told me they hadn't planned on the meal, but would happily prepare something for us. This is where the true difference became evident. Kurt and Peggy were outstanding hosts, not merely presenting us with a scrumptious egg and sausage scramble, but regaling us with the most engaging and delightful conversation, in which they basically told us who they were in an hour. I have rarely been made to feel so immediately comfortable with strangers, but their passion, as well as the obvious pride they take in both of their properties smashed any social barriers with the gentlest velvet glove. My one regret was that they wouldn't allow us to pay for the meal, which i thought was the least we could do to repay the booking reshuffle, but they wouldn't hear it. If you are in the area, whether for the wine country or the biking along the Katy trail, do yourself a favor and stay with friends you haven't yet met.

It is a pretty campground, they have a lot of things for the kids to do, including a pool, a bounce pad, playground, lots of areas to ride bikes, and they have events scheduled for the kids throughout most weekends. It looks like. they have some sites that are full hook up, but I think the majority of the sites are just water and electric. They have an extensive tent section and it is out back by a horse farm, which was very pretty. They do have some rustic sleeping cabins that do not have bathrooms or kitchen, and they also have higher and deluxe cabins that have kitchens and their own bathroom. They do have laundry, six washing machines and three dryers, however, one dryer was out of order and the second one they were putting the sign on as it was broken too so basically one working dryer. Staff are very friendly. It's a pretty pricey place to stay for camping, we paid $90 a night for a full hook up site. Make sure to sign up for the KA discounts, if you camp more than once or twice at a KOA it becomes worth it.

I see many of the same people here everyday, often I presume legitimately hanging out with friends, new ones rolling up with each new train. The perfect spot to board either direction, pretty much everyone gets off here except the few that are actually heading to the airport. Probably a great spot to buy weed if you have no real friends. I've never had any trouble with anyone but I have heard a couple people have been shot. Good luck.

Laclede's Landing station sits just beneath the historic Eads Bridge, which opened in 1874 as a…read morepioneering feat of engineering--one of the first major bridges to use steel and the first to employ pneumatic caissons for its deep foundations. While the bridge remains a marvel, its shadowy understructure makes the station feel a bit dim and enclosed compared to more open-air stops. The station itself is above ground but tucked under the bridge's arches, which gives it a unique but somewhat claustrophobic atmosphere. Metrolink has done a decent job retrofitting the space with stairs and an elevator, making it functional if not especially inviting. It's clear this wasn't originally designed for modern transit, but the adaptation is serviceable. Westbound trains head to Convention Center, while eastbound service crosses the Mississippi River into Illinois, stopping next at East Riverfront. I only passed through briefly and didn't linger. There's not much here in terms of amenities or comfort. It works fine as a transit point, but I wouldn't plan to spend time here unless you're transferring quickly or heading to the Arch. I booked a 12 person bus for a Girls Winery Trip to Hermann and it was perfect! Seats were comfortable and there was plenty of room for coolers, bags and snacks! Our driver Bonnie was fantastic! She was so sweet and very accommodating with our group splitting up for a bit and she was also willing to extend our original time which was very much appreciated. Every year we have struggles with transportation for this trip, so this being such a great experience was a relief!

They've always been flexible with our plans and let us add extra time, when schedules permit..hey, after the 3rd winery, it's possible to lose track of time. ‍ The small bus holds 12 but you may want to cut that number to 11 if you have fluffy passengers. Seating around the perimeter makes for easy drink sharing/dancing as does the great sound system and cute lights for nighttime trips. This is a small business that makes connections with their customers and we can't wait to use them in the future!
