Ate here as it was walking distance from my hotel. Saw some decent reviews and thought I'd give it…read morea try. I will start by saying the place was clean, plenty of seating and friendly staff. As I walked in I noticed a bar area to the left which had a little crowd in it (big night for sports on tv). I sat at my table and was quickly brought chips and salsa. Average for both. Interesting that there wasn't any salt or hotter sauce on the table. Had to ask for it. I ordered my typical "new Mexican restaurant"meal of a taco/enchilada/chili rellano. This plate is what I compare all Mexican restaurants by. First flaw was that they only had ground beef or chicken. Better Mexican restaurants have multiple choices for these. The taco came out with ground beef, some lettuce and cheese. It tasted fine. The enchilada was basically ground beef wrapped in a corn tortilla with some sauce on it. Again, just ok. For some reason Carolinians think a chili rellano is beef and melted cheese with a small portion of a pepper mixed in. This is far from what I am expecting. I would say the food was ok but not on my "must try again" list. Honestly if it wasn't for just enjoying sitting in there after a long day I'd just assume be eating Taco Bell. The margarita here was good and that helped!

This time I went to the storefront on Clemson and got lunch for me, my mom, and my wife. I ordered the Curry Chicken tacos with garlic naan, and added rice, lettuce, onion, and cucumbers with a side of the butter masala. Everything was perfect! The chicken was perfectly cooked and the seasonings were so delicious. They do not skimp on the filling, I could barely finish one taco. My mom got a butter masala shrimp bowl and my wife got the tandoori chicken wings with a side of masala fries and the Rayal spice sauce. They both enjoyed their meal. My wife is always looking for a spicy fix and she definitely met her match with that rayal sauce. Not for the faint of heart. This will definitely be our go to when we are craving this cuisine.

Now the stars of the show... the masala chicken tacos and the Chicken 65 were both 10/10 . The tacos were packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and the naan twist made them stand out. The Chicken 65 was crispy, juicy, and full of bold spices--definitely a must-order. I'd absolutely recommend this spot, especially for the tacos and Chicken 65. Will be back!

Every…read moremajor milestone has been celebrated here--birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, new jobs, and everything in between. It's always the first restaurant we recommend to friends and family visiting Columbia. One of the things that makes this location so special is that it's family owned and operated. Every time you visit, you're likely to see a member of the family working, whether they're serving tables, bartending, or greeting guests at the register. That personal touch is something you don't find everywhere, and it's one of the reasons we keep coming back. Most recently, my boyfriend and I celebrated both of us starting new jobs here, just like my family has done for so many other milestones over the years. It felt like the perfect place to mark another exciting chapter. As for the food, you really can't go wrong. The fajitas are always a favorite, especially with the chunky guacamole and queso. If you're looking for a huge sandwich, the Tony's Torta definitely lives up to its reputation. And of course, the margaritas are always a must. Great food, friendly people, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere keep us coming back year after year. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food in Columbia, this is the place I always recommend.

The actual inside of this place is well lit and quite at lunch time. I can see this place being a hot spot for drinks since there are margarita flight options. I had a Bueno salad add chicken and it was great. So flavorful I didn't need dressing which is good because it doesn't come with any. The tortilla strips and the tortilla chips with the salsa were very fresh and warm. I feel like tortilla chips at a Mexican restaurant is so important and vital to the overall experience of the food you get. My bestie got the pork carnitas and he loved it. He even ate his leftovers cold, and it was delicious according to him. The tortillas came warm, however they did bring him flour tortillas after asking for corn but again the waitress doesn't speak very much. I'm not really sure why she would be waiting tables but needless to say it was a great experience and certainly was authentic.
