Stopped at this Taco Bell in Dunkirk for my kid, and wow--what a mistake. The tacos were laughably tiny, with meat roughly the size of a tiny dog's turd in each shell. It's like they ran out and just waved a spoon in the general direction of the tortilla. I got a combo that gave us three of these sad tacos with two strands of iceberg lettuce, a wish of tomatoes, "guac" (if you can find it), some fries, and a drink, and somehow that added up to $16. Their cost was probably 38-cents, including staffing costs. To top it off, the drive-thru employees acted like I was an idiot for not having the entire menu memorized. Sorry dude, last time I ate at taco hell, I don't think your parents even met yet. I didn't realize I needed to be fluent in the menu before ordering fast food in order to avoid bothering you with questions. They were short-tempered, rude, and seemed completely uninterested in providing even the bare minimum of customer service. Didn't go inside, and I never will. It's obvious this location is banking on its spot right by the highway exit, knowing people won't bother turning around (especially with a toll involved) to complain. Well, here's my complaint--right where it'll actually be seen. Save your money and your patience; just keep driving. Would give negative stars if I could. Actually this is a dual place - KFC/Taco Bell and we went there for the KFC part. The grilled chicken is about as clean eating as I can get out and we haven't had KFC in a very long time. The place is normally a mess and today was no different, but I love the potatoes and gravy - yes probably not on my clean eating diet, but we worked hard today. Yes - bathrooms a mess - condiment area a disaster and we cleaned our own table - why? There is plenty to pick from and it's just another fast food place on the Route 60 strip ... pricing is right - easy to get in and out of and they are fast - fairly fast. I have recently went twice to the one in Dunkirk NY and the eating area was a mess, tables dirty and food all over the floor, bathrooms were disgusting. The last time I went a little girl came up to the ordering counter and asked the employee if she would wipe some tables. The area where you get your drinks a mess. I had sworn off Taco Bell back home in Cincinnati, but while making a pit stop for gas on the way to Boston, I needed something small to nibble on. I was craving Mexican so instead of spending 10 bucks on way too much food at the only other Mexican place in this small town, I opted for Taco Bell for convenience. I swore off Taco Bell because I am vegetarian and time after time the beans would leave me feeling gross and sick, tasting for lack of a better word, "dirty" and greasy. However, I went through the drive thru at this location vowing to spend no more than a dollar because I figured I would be left dissatisfied and feeling sick anyway. To my surprise though the beans tasted great. The one dollar three layer nachos tasted great and they didn't skimp on toppings. Weird to write a chain fast food review but after having so many bad experiences at other taco bells, I felt it was warranted. Also, their ice water doesn't have any weird taste, it tastes good. I stopped at my first Taco Bell today after being stopped on the Thruway for an hour as a result of an accident. I decided to stop there because I'd never been to a Taco Bell before. I must say that it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Yes, there were probably more people in this stop than are usually there because of the Thruway back up, but my problem was not with the wait; my problem was with most of the staff and with my food. I ordered a taco for my grandson, and that was a good choice for him. However, I ordered a taco salad, and I was unable to eat the shell bowl because it tasted like some sort of chemical. It was truly awful. Now, I like most any kind of food, so this was very unusual. I told the girl who was cleaning up and she said that she didn't like Taco Bell herself, and couldn't do anything about it. I went to the counter and the young man in charge called someone up to help me. The woman who came forward was definitely not a friendly sort. She immediately assumed that I wanted money back, and I explained that I was concerned that other patrons would get sick from the shells. She shrugged. I then decided to order a small Kentucky Fried chicken snack, but even that was pretty bad. The chicken was dry and did not have the great taste that I usually expect. The place was not clean either. Yes, a girl was cleaning it up, but even the bathroom wasn't well kept up. All in all, I can say that I was very disappointed and will never stop there again. Met up with a friend in Fredonia Friday night and decided to stop to grab a snack for the road on my way back to Buffalo. The neon "Drive-Thru Open" sign was brightly lit in the front window as I pulled up at 12:01am. As I pulled up to the speaker in the drive-thru lane, the sign on the speaker very clearly listed the hours as open until 1am Friday and Saturday, open til midnight Sun-Thurs. I sat parked in the drive-thru lane saying "hello?" to the speaker for about 8min before I decided to pull up. As I approached the second window I could very clearly see two workers inside talking. So I pulled around to the drive-thru again thinking perhaps they had not been near the receiver or headset inside on my first trip through. So I again pulled up the speaker and again asked "hello?" several times. This time I waited about 4min before pulling away, again seeing workers inside. If the store is closed at this time on a Friday night then someone needs to change the sign. Otherwise the workers on that shift need to be instructed on proper night shift etiquette. I'll try my business at McDonald's up the street next time. read more
