Well, tonight was the night to try Taco Felix. Walking in, I was greeted extremely warmly by the staff. I was seated and I did notice that the tables had seen better days, but they ultimately still served the purpose and were comfortable enough. Otherwise, the ambiance was pleasant enough and they also had outdoor seating (not a desirable choice for an evening at the end of January). They brought over chips and salsa. The chips I would guess were store bought instead of made in-house. Still, not bad. I went with their California burrito. I have to say that I am a fan of a burrito with French fries added inside. The food came relatively quick. It was pretty good, no real complaints. Service was decent, as well. All in all, I would say that this was an overall decent enough place and I will give it four stars overall.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It was a cool place with grocery items in addition to the restaurant. I'll go back. I'm a sucker for hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants. But my carne asada is probably 3 star. However, the salsa that came with our chips and salsa order was fire! Fresh, spicy, flavorful, colorful. The meal was expensive and just all right. The pork rind wagon wheels (I think that's what they were) were good but we got an order of chips and salsa as well ($5.99!!!) because one of the kids wasn't going to touch those wagon wheels no way no how. The salsa is very good - it's the red and the green mixed with pico de gallo and is quite spicy. All in all the experience and the vibe of the place was better than the food but I'm hopeful some different things off the menu would lead to a better eating experience. Don't get me wrong, the food was fine just not great and with the total bill hitting 95 bucks it wasn't worth that. But I will be back to try the street tacos or burritos.

So that should tell you that the food is way better than your hotel breakfast option. Food was hot and tasty. Prepared fresh. Breakfast quesadilla was really good. Pancakes were fluffy and sweet.
